regarding foils because I'm realizing something. Barbie literally could have been exactly the kind of foil that Helluva desperately needs if they just made her more ambivalent to Blitzø rather than antagonistic/avoidant, having genuinely moved on with her life and wishing him the best while also keeping him at arms length because she sees how he'd negatively affect her life with all his drama.
Striker and Bee (only in their first appearances) are the exceptions that prove the rule. Vivzie's foils are always past traumas the character must face yet never tie well to current insecurities and shortcomings they have to learn to deal with. To do this, you need to let said foil get the W on the protagonist or let them bring out the protagonists insecurities without receiving immediate comeuppance
Giving Blitzø his own proper consistent foil along the lines of Flanders or even a Moriarty is impossible because it'd have to be a character who pokes a hole in the damaged softboi tumblr sexyman narrative. So every foil instead has to be a past trauma who basically functions as a goalpost.

the difference between viv and Newgrounds/early YT animation is that the latter isn't really trying to be anything other than fun trash and pulpy romps, and even then, they're all relatively good at setting out what they want to accomplish
meanwhile Viv's stuff isn't even really that violent, and that's not even really the problem, the problem is that Viv has nothing to say beyond self indulgent ego stroking fujoshi fetishistic Burton-esque trash that thinks being bad is good because Protestants bad

Had HB stayed to it's original premise it would be herald as a Newgrounds show with good production and HH would have been herald as a good show originating all the way back during tumblr or DA
I'm noticing alot of Whataboutism going on with newer media. You can't criticize stuff like Skibbidi Toilet or else you'll get told off that this is just what the new generation liked and Newgrounds had stuff just like it! It feels like insecurity about liking stuff now and I think that's because of Irony being used to mask genuine enjoyment.
Imagine spending years working on bringing your series to life and then it gets upstaged almost instantly by a $50,000 softcore video.
I’ve actually been thinking about this a lot lately, why Vivzie’s cartoons seem to feel more unbearable than typical “adult comedy” shlock. I honestly think that it’s just Viv’s ego and the fact that she can’t just admit that she’s making is lowest common denominator slop. Unlike every cartoon on top, Viv can’t seem to just accept making an edgy cartoon but she also wants her fans to insist that her dumbass cartoons having poorly written musical gay drama makes them more important and valuable than they actually are.
Can you provide examples of viv saying things that prove this or are you doing wierd parasocial fanfiction?
