Depends on what kind of paging format you want, but either way, you'll have to build yourself a fanbase. Your best bet is to post your magnum opus in your own personal website. But the most known webcomic sites are webtoon, tapas, kakao.
Neocities is another option. Rarebit is a great template for beginners.

Followup, but how do you decide which parts to cover in shadow to what degree. Like, I know the basics of "imagine a pight source from (X,Y), but more how you set up your scenes for that kind of dynamic lighting.

A lot of the time, my lightsources are conveniently placed to illuminate the important parts of the frame.
I'm still figuring this whole comic thing out myself but I think this panel is a good example of how i think.
You can see how I illuminated the center of the panel, right under the feet of the bouncing character, there's no real lightsource there but I felt I needed to direct the reader towards the characters so I highlighted this area and kept the walls dark.
And the trash Shute at the end of the hallway was also important since the characters are going in that direction, so imagined there was a ceiling lamp around the corner.

Alright you post about your comic a lot in these threads, so I read through the whole thing.
It is obvious you care about your comic and you put a lot of love into it. So here's my critique. (Don't take it to hard, you can only get better, when knowing how to improve).
Pacing:
You NEED to put more work into establishment shots. You rarely draw backgrounds, and your panels seem cramped.
Characters:
I don't know if it's intentional, but your characters act very unnatural. A way to improve your writing, is to read your text out loud, and feel out, if you would actually talk like that in real life.
Facial expressions.
Work on them! You need to broaden your repretoire. They seem samey.
Line thickness:
For the love of god! Use more than one line thickness! Picture very much related.
Pros:
Your comic is very cute and I like the main characters design.
The fish joke was funny.
You have a lot of talent and you already know how to construct characters. This is something not everyone can claim, who posts in these threads. You just need to study some of the basics a bit more. This could be a very cool and very cute webcomic.

it actually starts this week. the beginning of the new storyline started this week with Day Job, runs through #29, ends with Heroes Junction #1 and then you'll see a shift in the comics tone to more story driven mini-arcs in BST that run concurrent to Heroes Junction. You'll see new villains pop up, new friends, new locations, etc. The only thing I might not end up doing is explaining the cat people origins because it's very autistic.

This looks really unfitting. Screentone isn't meant to be used this way, especially over color. In traditional paper manga the screentone is a SUBSTITUTE for color, giving a variety of grey tones and textures to imply shades and hues in something that will be printed in black and white. You can use a dotty texture in shading but you might want to look at retro western comics instead of screentone.
Also different styles of shading create different light 'behaviors' that can look really weird when you swap around. This shading in these places probably looked okay in a softer more gradual shading style, but in the screentone texture it looks like a printing error. When your shadows have clearly defined edges, your shapes need to have clearly defined edges. Follow the contours of your linework a little more closely.
I was trying to find a way of making my shading look less horrible and still be ez to do so I can pump pages out at a not painfully slow rate. Also I meant to have it be more retro western comic than screen tone, Ive just been weebified to much and call half tone screen tones which is bad and I gotta stop.

Think in acts. The 3 acts model is used 90% of the time, in almost everything you ever saw. (Heroes Journey).
And most of all: Is your story the most interesting part of your characters life? If not write about that instead!

Been wanting to make a character with powers based on those old 3d movie glasses. The idea is that he is the grandson of a 60s superhero who had 3d powers thanks to a freak accident. Went insane that none of his children inherited his powers. Thus he turned he coordinated his grandson into getting into accident similar to his.

How do you guys come up with cool and iconic character designs? At a loss here apart from basic ideas (like "pirate" character or "wizard" character)
I guess just think about the character and add stuff that tells a story. Were they in the military? Have them wear dog tags. Do they have a job? What's the uniform or dress code? Things like that.
some of the best character designs are not that complex.
I follow three rules:
-Silhouette rule: Probably the most common piece of design advice, and the only one here I didn't make. A character's silhouette should be distinct and recognizable from the other members of your cast.
-Gameboy Coloring: Slight bias since I work in black-and-white, but I think this applies to color as well. The contrast within a design should be simple enough that, if black and white, the colors should mainly group into black, white, a light gray, and a dark gray, but each one should be a separate shade from its neighbors (so, a blue and red that appear light gray need reworked, since it tells me that the shades used are clashing too much). Makes it easier on the eyes, and if I don't replicate a color exactly (i.e. a dark red instead of maroon), the mistake isn't too distracting.
-Detailing a kid can draw: Similarly, the details in a design should be simple enough that they could be replicated in a 166x140 screen (going by Gameboy rule before), or able to be drawn by a child, and still bear a heavy resemblance to the character (not to say avoid details or colors that break away from this, just that they should not dominate the design and make it too cluttered). Going beyond this makes shit feel too busy in my book. After all, you will be drawing the character over and over again.

Since I ink traditionally, I found an artist used another paper as layer for his washes, and scanned them and use the multiply layer. It helped me with some details in my pages.

Your characters have to be attractive. Attractive doesn't necessarily mean sexy, that's just one trait. Others are cool, cute, mysterious and funny. But sexy/cute tower over the others. Also keep in mind the demographics of where you're posting and advertising. Women dominate webtoon so bouncing breasts aren't going to blow up there as much as 2 cute anime boys making out. You get the idea.

Like another anon said, though, good on you for including backgrounds with color. No. Srs. That is a major pain in the arse for a lot of content creators that puts you ahead of... hrmmm... 85% of creators here.
But... Just... one tip... if that page you posted is anything to go off of...
Make it less cluttered. Apply 'The Elements of Style' to your work and the thirds rule for composition, because a lot of your work looks good on a technical level except for how it's laying out on a trad page with bumblefrick dialogue, and I don't know if you're doing what I do and uploading a trad page before changing it to Webtoons-friendly resolution later, but if you aren't, then you REALLY need to consider your mobile readers, and more specifically how their vision flows.

I format my comic like it's a graphic novel because that's what I want it to be formatted like. I've read comics in all kinds of formats from mobile and never had a problem. If phoneposters can't handle reading it, they wouldn't be able to handle reading a mainstream comic book in pdf/epub format, so they can go back to whatever they'd rather be reading instead.

Again though, my 2014 samsung tablet fits in my purse and I can read western comics, manga, newspaper strips, deviantart clusterfricks, you can just zoom in and out in addition to scrolling up and down. I have never had an issue. I'm not going to sacrifice important sequential art composition tricks (small panels are fast time, wienereyed little word bubbles are silly asides) to make everything scroll up and down for an ugly ass webtoons mirror.
I host my comic on Tumblr, I'm fully aware of hideous mobile-oriented web hosting. But I draw a hard line before the tapas/webtoons abyss.

Would any of these "webtoon" formats work better than the current one realistically? I really dislike the default format since it loses out on too many important things (Spreads, suspense, dynamic paneling) but I understand how important it is to create for mobile first as an indie. It was a few years back when I first started visiting /hyw/ so my memory is fuzzy on some of the details, I decline to give an in-depth summary right now.
Aside from the Coldfusionisms they are very standard early-2000s jrpg-inspired adventure fantasies. His core cast wanders around a vague world meeting characters based on people he knew in chatrooms. They fight stuff once and a while. Kiwi Day is a 4-panel daily comic drawn in pencil, Kiwi Day N (I asked, the N is meaningless) focuses on the younger siblings or offspring of the first comic's characters and he put more effort into the art.
I don't remember the exact archive date/url for the teen werewolf cunnilingus page, go find it yourself.

I include in my design notes which song(s) I use when writing my characters, but I think it's cringe if you're doing shit like "here's my personal playlist guys" and sharing a bunch of playlists that realistically nobody will listen to. Just keeping it for yourself, though, that's a'ight.
I get around 10 per page, but I'm still relatively new to this, and treat it as a side hobby.
It's only cringe if the songs are cringe, which is subjective. Or, if you have a full paragraph explaining each song's relevance to the subject, because who cares.
Otherwise nothing wrong with spotify playlists for any reason. People can choose not to listen if they aren't interested, you're not profiting off it in some way, and people who are into your work get an extra small insight into the taste and tone of your artistic intent. Maybe you'll introduce a reader to a band they hadn't heard of.

As a writergay I hate this advice, too many unfocused ideas out there that people turned into comics that could’ve been good but were executed like shit. A few good scenes cannot save inconsistent plot, characterization, and tone. If you approach telling a story with the mindset that cool art and visuals will be enough and everything else will fall into place then you not only do yourself a disservice but you insult your potential audience as well. The art and the writing must be in harmony.

You are implying you cannot do those well unless you finish the story before beginning, which is simply not true. You can improvise and still have good consistent writing. Not fully improvised, though, which is why I said you need to have a certain plot points thought out a bit before starting.

I've been thinking about hosting a "/hyw/ boob chart yearly" thing, since the one that used to get posted around is outdated. Rather than just make it an open invite, I'm thinking that there should be some criteria.
Here's what I'm thinking.

Fulfill two and you're eligible:
>Your comic is at least thirty pages and you updated at least six times in the past year OR your comic has updated at least twelve times in the last two (aka added a page around every two months at least)

>New original art of your character was posted here at least on three separate weeks, and your source webcomic gained at least 300 off-site views since the start of the year
/aco/ and /hyw/-adjacent characters are eligible, "here" being interchangeable with those places, except in the case of art battles/tourneys (so you can't be eligible by posting 50 times in a three-person roleplay thread). All characters must have been posted to Cinemaphile, no Discord-only shit.

The boob chart only exists because two based artists took it upon themselves to draw it. Trying to regulate and enforce rules around something so silly is what killed multiple collaborations in the past- the Wacky Races event, for example. Go run a DnD campaign if you need to channel your autism into something.

What do you do when all your ideas are either uninspired or lame as frick so you can't really start on anything?
Work on developing your ideas- you can start with something derivative and uninspired, and work on massaging it into something you'd actually want to draw. Start by writing out all your concepts, no matter how shitty, unoriginal and uninspired they might be, then start looking at how you can punch them up into something usable. Writing is re-writing IMO, and good ideas rarely pop into existence without having to put in some work for it. Don't be discouraged if your first draft is shitty, that's almost to be expected- the important part is to not give up too early, have the patience to develop your ideas into something that excites you.
