There are also water fairies, who are evry interesting because one story has one of the two malevolent fairies in Hungarian folklore (or at least the only ones I know of)

I saw this (Heroic Times) not too long ago and really dug it. I am not really sure how they animated this... I could not tell if it was like that Vincent movie where every frame was a painting, or they just took a very painterly approach to cel animation. Either way, the effect is pretty mesmerizing.
Thematically, this is also probably one of the most nihilistic movies I've seen in a while. In that sense it feels very "mature" - and this is probably why the movie wasn't (iirc) a huge hit. You think it will be a rousing medieval epic but it's a sour and dour indictment of wasting your life for meaningless ideals. It's great!
