The aesthetics were cool but the main character had zero personality. I feel like if they got someone more charismatic to play the lead role people would actually care but they inserted a nepobaby Black person.
>from the director of rogue one
fricking kek, won’t be watching
Movies simply fricking suck now. They have no magic, and feel paint by numbers and sterile, literally lacking soul. And it's not just nostalgia because I'll watch a bunch of so called amazing modern movies and be bored to tears than watch something mediocre from the 80s or 90s I've never seen before and at least have a good time. >t. 36 year old
Wrong. Greek art, the basis for all western art, formed in quarrelling city states.

All of those art pieces reflected the "ruling class". In some of those states you were literally banned from making anything else BUT the art they wanted. You're not special. Just some snowflake who's too self important to realize how they are being manipulated.
Grow up.

Most of them were persecuted by the ruling classes. This was true for most of the great writers especially the Russians.

You've read too many bedtime stories. Most art was made to appease the higher ups. The poor didn't learn how to draw and were too poor to even afford quality paintings. All their customers were entirely rich people and/or churches. Please read a book.

Storytelling is what let our species exceed the informational limits of DNA.
old movies tend to have something that most new films lack. I watched Strange Days which I have absolutely no nostalgia for because I had never even heard of it until I watched it but it was just damn good. And there are some modern movies that have "it" (I just watched Dream Scenario and it was great) but most modern movies I'm just waiting for something cringe or shit to happen or suffering from its soullessness.
I'm really happy cinema is dying because i'm a chad who won't watch anything with israelites or Black folk or woke vomit. You want straight white male money you pander to me homosexual.

its amazing that without knowing anything about the movie, you can look at the poster and think "this looks like rogue one, is it some kind of star wars spin off?"
It still made its money back because of its impressively low $80 million budget. Either way it’s my favorite movie of 2023. Absolutely kino story and setting.
a load of my female friends got dressed up for it and went as a night out. think the theatre even put on prosecco etc to make it more of a thing. first time i've ever known them to go to a movie.
Ah yes because the Barbie movie definitely drew it's script from other Barbie movies...except it didn't. Meanwhile The Creator is just Blade Runner, Apocalypse Now, Star Wars and fricking CHAPPIE combined.
How is Barbie a franchise that had several movies, and comes from an existing toy brand original? It's literally one of the biggest IPs.
Original would be not part of an already existing franchise (Barbie has has many animated films), not a know IP, not a remake or reboot, not based on a book, and not a sequel.
Also, it was misandrist trash and a cinematic straw-man.
Creator was cool concept.
Ending was dogshit. In fact, most of the last 3rd of the world was bad when they show where the women was and all that shit and the fact that the americans knew where all the AI bases were to begin with when they go to nuke them at the end.
terrible, formulaic script. I usually can overlook even big plotholes if a movie has a story with some sort of internal logic, but this film didn't have that. The CGI and art style was like Art Station concept art thrown into movie form. Terrible leading actor. Just a bad fricking movie. Gareth Edwards doesn't understand story structure or pacing. He doesn't know what a good, functional screenplay is. Starting to seem more and more apparent that he's another Neill Blomkamp.
I now understand why Rogue One was so heavily rewritten and reshot.
we are in a film crash that mirrors the video game crash. the market is flooded with so much shit that no one wants to go to anything anymore. it doesnt help that 90% of it is garbage
>First few minutes of movie show a human brain being grown/3d printed in the "making of the robots montage" >every single robot in the movie has two arms, two legs and moves like a human being >every single robot and simulant has a head size just big enough to house a human brain inside >movie has a device that scans human brains then puts it into a chip which can be inserted into robot bodies >adverts in the movie imply faces of humans are also a "scanning" process to create simulants >some robots and simulants are shown to have obvious emotions and creature comforts like smoking or taking naps >start thinking that the twist will be none of the robots nor simulants are artificial intelligence at all >they're all vat grown human brains trapped inside a mechanical body and brain-washed into being slaves then "the enemy" >also the "scans" for human faces are actually scanning human personalities to use as a baseline of thought-processing >then safeguards are put in to make them subservient but the human personality still breaks through wanting to be free >MOVIE NEVER OUTRIGHT STATES ANY OF THIS >INSTEAD IT'S ALL ABOUT FRICKING ROBOT RIGHTS AND DESTROYING NOMAD A >ALSO THE LA BOMBING WAS A MISTAKE AS STATED IN ONE SINGLE THROWAWAY LINE
It all good and nice visuals, but generic story with shitty lead actor. Reminded me of The golden child and in general of 80s movies, but that nepo baby isn't even close to being likeable to Eddie Murphy or his father.
It's a slog, but at least its original and looks great just like every Gareth movie the tech is cool with suicide runner bot being a highlight. It's a shame that he probably will never make anything that surpasses Monsters.
too many Black folk i dunno but seeing africa Black folk in LoTR cloaks with wakanda tech... look israelites i can only suspend disbelief to a point and this crossed it
>From the director of Rogue One
Yeah not gonna watch anything even vaguely associated with that dumpster fire. Also... >Browns on the cover
Miss me with that shit.
This movie sucked hard. The main character can't ACT FOR SHIT. The little AI girl emotes better than him. He has zero charm or personality to where every line is delivered as flat as possible. He would be OK as a side character at best.
I think Rogue One and this movie have pretty bland stories but the director has a good eye for CGI
you don't need to go full moron like the marvel movies that completely disconnect the audience, you just add a few cool things here and there
i considered it, but i could tell the script was bad
cast was also a turn off
i'm literally the target demo for a film like this so if you can't get my ass into the seat, you fricked up
>guys you need to watch this thinly-veiled propaganda from the same guy who made Star Wars slop!
frick off
I hope you're happy. Your mind is killing cinema.
I don’t watch reboots or sequels either.
if cinema is diverse and woke, then let it die
Glad. Proud of bringing down hollyisraelite one movie at a time.

Still just new bad syndrome.
New is bad. Real art can't be created an environment where the "artists" just spout the ideology of the ruling class.
Literally all art has been like this. Grow up.

New bad syndrome doesn't necessarily mean nostalgia. It just means you think new is automatically bad.
good. let it die for 50 years and come back with fresh minds instead of nepotism writers raised on marvel slop
israelite Black folk are
accusatory inversion
My mind is killing cinema?
Really?

N.

I will not watch your movie sorry 🙂
The movie probably would have done better if the lead wasn't black.
>Women and Black folks
>From the director of Rogue One
I like rogue one but don't like blacks sorry
>black people
Pass
The visuals and concepts were kind, the overall story was pretty fricking meh
Frick you autocorrect
kind of what?
Kind of kino
It feels like it should have been about clones not AI.
I'm not watching anything with John David Washington in a lead role. That guy is the biggest charisma vacuum the world has ever seen.
I teared up when the Creator sacrificed himself for the Akira kid
It still made its money back because of its impressively low $80 million budget. Either way it’s my favorite movie of 2023. Absolutely kino story and setting.
That projector targeting beam was such a cool visual idea. Sells the near omniscient presence of the Nomad so well.
Definitely the most striking visual of the movie. Fits with that eerie Blue-Sky-Laser trend.
>80 million budget
Damn how did they do it. Visually the movie looks amazing but the story and characters were garbage. Get better writers next time.
kidding me? tv shows have bettter cgi than this
name 26 tv shows with good cgi
>kino story
gtfo here
it literally is tens of millions in the red at the very least, if not a hundred
It was a massive flop.
>rogue one
>original
>another dystopian future, uninspired drab visual nightmare
It sucks. The acting is wooden, the visuals are ugly. Gareth Edwards is one of the most mediocre filmmakers I've ever had the displeasure of watching.
agreed, movie sucked. had high hopes for it too
barbie was an original movie and it was the best movie of the year.
Be honest with me, did I miss not seeing barbie in theaters? I still haven't seen it cus it looks ham-handed preachy
It was mid. The ending with the Ken's was good, but not worth the two hour slog to get to it.
a load of my female friends got dressed up for it and went as a night out. think the theatre even put on prosecco etc to make it more of a thing. first time i've ever known them to go to a movie.
Yeah the Ken stuff was good, but it's really just an ok movie.
I hated it and I like women.
Based on an existing IP, that's not what people mean by original.
>existing IP

I liked the scenery porn and sci-fi mega structures.

Ending was dogshit. In fact, most of the last 3rd of the world was bad when they show where the women was and all that shit and the fact that the americans knew where all the AI bases were to begin with when they go to nuke them at the end.
Zero tension throughout the movie.
>protect the special child movie
>original movie
Its was more
>where my muffugin wife, the child can lead me to her movie
It was like a movie made by AI
terrible, formulaic script. I usually can overlook even big plotholes if a movie has a story with some sort of internal logic, but this film didn't have that. compared to rebel moon, it is a masterpiece
A lot of kino visuals, but the story was very predictable. Overall an okay movie, but nothing revolutionary
Why was the movie so vague about the androids? Like, most of them are robots? But some of them also have human memories? Or what?
>brown people and women
I wonder why it flopped?
>Bmaf
Not watching it
it wasnt even that good. Barely better than the slop they churn out constantly.
sci-fi movies are usually shit
well maybe they should have cast a white guy
>starring a Black person
No thanks. Im all Black personed out. Put some white people in it maybe.
we are in a film crash that mirrors the video game crash. the market is flooded with so much shit that no one wants to go to anything anymore. it doesnt help that 90% of it is garbage
nobody is listening to me so i look forward to everyone stealing this take 8 months from now as always happens with everything I call
>makes and cool looking painting
>finish it with a huge stain of shit right in the middle
ESG is hell, frick you Fink, you fricking homosexual
I paid to see it in the cinema and it was shit.
Being "original" doesn't count for much if it's still shit.
>male lead cant act and has no charisma
>child savior trope
>shit villain
>First few minutes of movie show a human brain being grown/3d printed in the "making of the robots montage"

>movie has a device that scans human brains then puts it into a chip which can be inserted into robot bodies
>adverts in the movie imply faces of humans are also a "scanning" process to create simulants
>some robots and simulants are shown to have obvious emotions and creature comforts like smoking or taking naps
>start thinking that the twist will be none of the robots nor simulants are artificial intelligence at all
>they're all vat grown human brains trapped inside a mechanical body and brain-washed into being slaves then "the enemy"
>also the "scans" for human faces are actually scanning human personalities to use as a baseline of thought-processing
>then safeguards are put in to make them subservient but the human personality still breaks through wanting to be free
>MOVIE NEVER OUTRIGHT STATES ANY OF THIS

>two Black folk, two asians and one white woman on the poster
Not a fricking chance senpai.
>ugly Black in the middle of the poster
Not even worth a torrent
It's a slog, but at least its original and looks great just like every Gareth movie the tech is cool with suicide runner bot being a highlight. It's a shame that he probably will never make anything that surpasses Monsters.
I don't watch Blackslop
How is it original? Another woke garbage
too many Black folk i dunno but seeing africa Black folk in LoTR cloaks with wakanda tech... look israelites i can only suspend disbelief to a point and this crossed it
I'm not black... so why would I watch a black people movie?
>all style and no substance
>flops
>somehow this is a surprise
I liked when they revived the guy just to get info
This movie is a perfect mix of BR2079, AI: Artificial Intelligence, Elysium, and Chappie.
If there aren't any good movies to match then I can, at least, choose to watch movies without fricking nogs and societal commentary in them.
>BMAF
>kino
nope
Hell yeah it is
looks like woke garbage
>From the director of Rogue One
Yeah not gonna watch anything even vaguely associated with that dumpster fire. Also...

Too generic
oh boy another black man plays a revolutionary slave robot fighting for his rights movie, featuring no white men
This one had a moronic screenplay and a series of miscasts
I think Rogue One and this movie have pretty bland stories but the director has a good eye for CGI
you don't need to go full moron like the marvel movies that completely disconnect the audience, you just add a few cool things here and there
Watch trailer
Look interesting
Black and asian kids
Black folk everywhere
White men where?
Nope.
It was poorly written and poorly edited.
i considered it, but i could tell the script was bad
cast was also a turn off
i'm literally the target demo for a film like this so if you can't get my ass into the seat, you fricked up
Everything is the fault of the israelites.
