Movies simply fricking suck now. They have no magic, and feel paint by numbers and sterile, literally lacking soul. And it's not just nostalgia because I'll watch a bunch of so called amazing modern movies and be bored to tears than watch something mediocre from the 80s or 90s I've never seen before and at least have a good time.

All of those art pieces reflected the "ruling class". In some of those states you were literally banned from making anything else BUT the art they wanted. You're not special. Just some snowflake who's too self important to realize how they are being manipulated.

          Still just new bad syndrome.

old movies tend to have something that most new films lack. I watched Strange Days which I have absolutely no nostalgia for because I had never even heard of it until I watched it but it was just damn good. And there are some modern movies that have "it" (I just watched Dream Scenario and it was great) but most modern movies I'm just waiting for something cringe or shit to happen or suffering from its soullessness.

How is Barbie a franchise that had several movies, and comes from an existing toy brand original? It's literally one of the biggest IPs.

Original would be not part of an already existing franchise (Barbie has has many animated films), not a know IP, not a remake or reboot, not based on a book, and not a sequel.

Also, it was misandrist trash and a cinematic straw-man.

terrible, formulaic script. I usually can overlook even big plotholes if a movie has a story with some sort of internal logic, but this film didn't have that. The CGI and art style was like Art Station concept art thrown into movie form. Terrible leading actor. Just a bad fricking movie. Gareth Edwards doesn't understand story structure or pacing. He doesn't know what a good, functional screenplay is. Starting to seem more and more apparent that he's another Neill Blomkamp.

I now understand why Rogue One was so heavily rewritten and reshot.
