Leonard in that same scene would drop to his knees, start crying, speaking really fast and asking Ethan Hawke for forgiveness because that's Leo's range. When he's desparate, he would make it 100% obvious that he's desperate even if it goes against his character.

I really enjoyed seeming Tom Hanks play an unlivable character. You don’t see that often. It also finally dawned on me rewatching the movie as an adult that he probably made a ton of his escapades up, since it’s based on his autobiography, and he’s a well know liar and con man. It did nothing to diminish my enjoyment of the film. Much like I can now enjoy 300 again knowing it’s just that one spartan telling an exaggerated version of events to ramp up his guys before battle.

I liked the terminal, but it wasn’t great. Not as fun as CMIYC. I bed they sucked and fricked their way through the cast. Seriously, go back and rewatch CMIYC and see how many hot young things appeared in it who suddenly had their careers take off afterwards.
