Miller was hinting about Furiosa movie as early as 2016 and the Mad Max: Wasteland subtitle was something that was dropped very early on when they were planning sequels. And Hardy likely had multiple commitments so developing Furiosa first was more logical rather than some corporate blackmail

In October 2015 he confirmed the Wasteland as the next sequel (though the Wasteland was a working title at that point). He confirmed aside from one interaction with Max Furiosa wasn't in the story.

Listening to redditors is like the worst idea ever. I remember when the movie came out they all acted like she was so amazing but she was just another ordinary supporting character to me. She got plenty of development sure but who asked for this and was truly sincere about it? She's a piece of shit until the Fury Road movie.
Same as the Han Solo movie. Nobody wanted it. His character was already well defined and went through a 3 movie long character development. It’s heavily implied his life wasn’t entirely interesting before New Hope except him being a well known smuggler and very good pilot. And the solo movie added nothing to the character. Just watered down his legend to “he got a ship with cheat codes”.
The worst part is that the movie itself isn't bad at all really, but the fact that it's a Han Solo origin story lead to nobody wanting to watch that shit.
It was just pointless. The actor was annoying, they skipped over his military career, the only cool part of his story, slapped together a lazy friendship with chewy, did basically no piloting, and made everything cool about Han Solo trivial and dependent on dumb luck instead of skill.
Fury Road was easily the best action movie of the last decade. A lot of hard work went into it and it showed.
This one looks like an afterthought to please people asking for more Furiosa.
Maybe the CGI will look a little better by release time, but the fact that they used so much of it is a loss.

If that's the case, then this 2024 movie is George Miller's creation for this world and fans should be okay with it. Miller was hinting about Furiosa movie as early as 2016 and the Mad Max: Wasteland subtitle was something that was dropped very early on when they were planning sequels. And Hardy likely had multiple commitments so developing Furiosa first was more logical rather than some corporate blackmail
In October 2015 he confirmed the Wasteland as the next sequel (though the Wasteland was a working title at that point). He confirmed aside from one interaction with Max Furiosa wasn't in the story.

The exact date of their settlement isn't around but in March 2020 Furiosa was announced that casting was underway and it would be the next sequel. The Wasteland is apparently still happening but there's nothing concrete about it and I'm sure that's provisional on the success of Furiosa.

I'm gonna stick up for about 30% of Thunderdome. The first like 25 minutes give or take is quite possibly my favorite Mad Max related anything. Listening to redditors is like the worst idea ever. I remember when the movie came out they all acted like she was so amazing but she was just another ordinary supporting character to me. She got plenty of development sure but who asked for this and was truly sincere about it? She's a piece of shit until the Fury Road movie.
Same as the Han Solo movie. Nobody wanted it. His character was already well defined and went through a 3 movie long character development. It’s heavily implied his life wasn’t entirely interesting before New Hope except him being a well known smuggler and very good pilot. And the solo movie added nothing to the character. Just watered down his legend to “he got a ship with cheat codes”.
The worst part is that the movie itself isn't bad at all really, but the fact that it's a Han Solo origin story lead to nobody wanting to watch that shit.
It was just pointless. The actor was annoying, they skipped over his military career, the only cool part of his story, slapped together a lazy friendship with chewy, did basically no piloting, and made everything cool about Han Solo trivial and dependent on dumb luck instead of skill.

Fury Road was easily the best action movie of the last decade. A lot of hard work went into it and it showed.
This one looks like an afterthought to please people asking for more Furiosa.
Maybe the CGI will look a little better by release time, but the fact that they used so much of it is a loss.
Hemsworth's prosthetic nose is flawless.
