Which is why Dark Hero is superior because you can tell they at least tried with what little they had to work with as a sequel to the last movie. Also has David Hayter humble beginnings and Guyver Zonid fight.
First guyver movie had some incredible practical effects work and hilarious overacting. It's not lazy or boring in a Hollywood way, bad but still highly entertaining and admirable.
I LOVED it when I was 12, thought it was a masterpiece, but I definitely struggle to watch it now. I will say though, the costumes were fantastic and there were a few neat moments here and there, but definitely a rough watch when you’re an adult.
Dark Hero is legitimately good and a better adaptation of the material than we could ever get now.
That's one strong word. It was better, but acting and pacing still suck really hard.
The acting was fine. The pacing was good so I don’t get how you’re saying that. The whole movie was a lot of fun, had great choreography, and did a better job getting across the stakes and overall story compared to the first one.
>Be Howlin' Mad >by some miracle get a Guyver movie off the ground >make suits for a cool R rated action movie >studio says make it less violent >already made a bunch of gore effects >studio gets cold feet and thinks its all too silly at the last minute, orders script rewrite >zoanoids are now goofy henchman villains, overall tone is fricked >decide to just lean into the goofy aspects anyway because its impossible to take the new script seriously and the only way to recoup cost is to sell it pg13 >flops studio blames you

>Sequel was hit on home video >Lead actor, who even went on to be a Hollywood screenwriter among continuing to act in live and vocal performances, wrote a treatment for a third but took too long and it didn't happen because the rights went back to the Japanese
It’s such a bummer we never got it. From how Hayter described it, it sounded like a really good direction. Like Old Man Guyver dealing with a world where Cronos was winning.
David Gale absolutely fricks in this movie. He's great as Balcus even if his character should have been Guyot. Jeffery Combs also should have gotten way more screen time as the head Cronos scientist.
He is a dentist full time now. Honestly I don't think he ever intended to finish it with the setup of what, like 7 or 13 ZoaLords to kill? I think he hoped he could figure out a good ending as he went along, but never was able to avoid just powercreeping.
>Fixes your battlemech with two paperclips and chewed bubblegum
I'm pretty sure this is the real "Guyver"
This film sucked.
Sequel was kino tho.

>kino
Oh it was a cinema alright.
It's toku, you are not expecting Marlon Brando. It only suck when you know the people behind it aren't even trying.

>I AM THE GUYVER!
But are you the McGuyver?

It did well on video so they figured why the frick not

So basically an adaptation of the X Day stuff? Neat.
>>Be Howlin' Mad
Wait what about Murdock?
Just imagine if a 3rd movie was made, would we have seen an Americanized Guyver 3, Guyver 2(Female) and Gigantic?
When did Gigantic actually show up. Probably wouldn't get farther than the Mountain stronghold arc.
after that arc isn't? it's when the big timeskip happens

>Jeffery Combs
My boy Shran was in the Guyver movie? Damn.
Jeffry Combs was in everything. EVERYTHING.
had to look it up
>Dr East
Anyone have the single for download? Can't find it fricking anywhere anymore
Just run it through a converter.

The Out of Control soundtrack had some bangers too.
It's alright but kinda generic compared the legendary score of the OVA
Anyone have the Gigantic theme "Warrior's Heart"?
Did the author start working on it again yet?

Where the frick is my Dark Hero remaster
In all likelihood probably lost.
What's this meme
Anyway if WB is just giving away rights there's a chance Unearthed Films can grab it later the first movie
It's gone
