The only cool part about secret invasion is wondering/finding out who has been skrulls all along. Past that it's meh. Like the skrulls just show up and successfully take over the world in like a few pages of I recall correctly and it doesn't even lead to anything interesting. Then the lose soon after. The end.

No, and this is one of the parts marketing is trying to push. While also saying they didn’t allow comics on set.

I'd argue that Norman getting to kill the queen and being given a golden ticket afterward for Dark Reign to take place at least made up for it. I had a blast with DR and Siege back in the day.

I mean the skrulls taking over. If I recall correctly things pretty much continue as usual, the skrulls don't really change much. Its more just the heroes being butthurt that they lost and as a reader you recognize that earth isn't supposed to be run by skrulls.

Dark Reign was the last time Marvel was good

I was here during publication. Secret Invasion as an idea was insanely cool
    The main event itself?
Dogshit. Literally solved by Reed jerryrigging a deus ex machina gun out of a box of scraps.
Dark Reign was worth it but Siege was shit.

I thought people liked Siege because it was finally a triumphant moment for the heroes after years of the villains being in charge ever since civil war ended.

Siege is paced terribly and it's too simple a plot for a main event.
Also, it outright requires you to have read all of Dark Avengers to understand the twist.

Dark Reign was fricking awful and I'm tired of 2000s nostalgiagays pretending otherwise. You're on the same tier of moronation as Civil War and Secret Invasion defenders.

That's because people compare Marvel's shitty crossover events to DC's crossover events, which were even shittier.

We *started* with "Doctor Light raped Elongated Man's wife," moved on to 'Superboy Prime punched a wall so hard it retconned the universe," and were on a permanent downward slope with Flashpoint being refashioned into an excuse for the New 52.

Most of what people liked about the event was seeing who was an actual skull. I remember people speculating that To y was a Skrull and then it was revealed he was just a sap that got manipulated by the Skrulls.

Honestly the only stuff that I enjoyed from Secret Invasion was the Captain Marvel mini and Kl’rt (Super-Skrull) teaming up with Nova

At the time I thought it was kinda garbage, but it had some vaguely interesting gimmicks, a few interesting tie-ins, and it did actually drive the Marvel U in a direction with some consequences for a while, so it's easy to look back on it with rose tinted glasses.

The reason it's not going to be great for the MCU is they don't have enough reveals to make, and the Skrulls aren't well established. It actually might have been interesting as a concept in the middle of the MCU's "blip" only to find out some dusted heroes still were seemingly alive.

Civil War killed Marvel. Nothing after it has been good. Shit like Disassembled may have ruined individual characters, but Civil War killed Marvel as a whole.

There's a few events like Civil War II and some such that the internet really just agrees was truly had nothing good about it. I don't know if Secret Invasion is really brought up. Maybe it is, I don't remember.
