I can't figure this dude out

>come from nothing, make it as an actor
>star on one of the biggest TV shows of all time for a decade
>gets everything he ever wanted, literally living like the Vince character
>has a sudden mental breakdown (from overdosing on pussy and alcohol?)
>nukes his own career, quits acting
>now an occasional podcast guest where he tells his grim "cautionary tale"
What is supposed to be the sob story here? He got laid and got drunk too much? Isn't that what all the Hollywood legends did? Imagine Richard Burton or Jack Nicholson turning this experience into some kind of self-help lecture.

maybe he hs no range or he made enough money. Enough, What a novel concept. With residuals he might never hve to work again.

I have the weirdest experience with this show. I was by myself in the apartment living room, my whole family was sleep and i was watching fmaoly guy, it was a friday and i was eating leftover pizza or something. It was around 11pm, so late night friday tv, you know what i mean. Im switching channels and suddenly his show comes up, i know nothing about it, i start watching and it kind of makes me confused. Like everyone is an butthole but the show kind of portrays them as not buttholes very stuck up, them Turtle came on. He started doing his turtle character thing and im not joking i sat there confused as shit, i could not figure out if it was a parody or not, for a while i thought i was watching an SNL sketch. The show was just so bad, everything about it was bad, but it played like it wasn't. Like years later i leanrwd it was played 100% straight. What a weird fricking show.

      Millenial writing

This was not millenial writing, this was complete lack of coherence in the way characters were writen vs how they were seen. Again the show is so weird, it is badly badly written, like a parody but it also doesn't feel like a parody. Something like How I Meet Your Mother doesn't have amazing writing, but there is a coherence to it, this show was just bad on in a very unique way.

You don't know what the frick you're talking about. The show was definitely a parody of Hollywood in general and Mark Wahlberg's career specifically.

He's not saying it was millenial writing, he is saying your analysis was millenial

the show was great. one of my favourite shows of all time. I have never met a man who doesnt love and identify with this show

Its basically what we would all do if we became Massive in hollywood - take our best mates and just live it up large

      what are you talking about?

only a third-wave feminist would think the characters were buttholes. The whole show was great - basically sex and the city for and about men

Went from being the man to nobody cared and he didn't realize Hollywood is fake until it was over for him. Didn't make any real connections or lifelong friends so it feels empty. Probably pissed all the money away too.

All he had to do was pick a decent feature script after Entourage, I'm sure he had a ton of big offers at the time. But I guess he... drowned in pussy and booze and went insane instead?

        Anonymous

I doubt he really had a bunch of offers. I saw he was in Devil Wears Prada and don't believe anyone remembers him from it. He's basically a nobody other than what he did with Entourage. Which is what it is.

Lot of actors find they don't make some ludicrous amount of money from Hollywood and end up doing other stuff. Think there was one actress that started a company that sells bathing products and ended up making more from it than she did in Hollywood. The acting prior to that pretty much acted as seed money for other ventures.

Not like everyone becomes a major success from acting and the guy is nearly 50, he can be largely retired now.

Had to look him up, but looks like he was in a TV show called Entourage.

Idea he had no range is probably true. Imagine he enjoyed making good money for a few years (maybe even spent too much so lifestyle has gone down since?), but since he couldn't really become some mega star he instead can only afford an upper middle class lifestyle unlike what he could see of other big stars.

    Not sure the point here.

Holy zoomertard. The actor's name is in the pic filename and if you don't recognize him from Entourage you have no business commenting on television and film.
