I'll give you a summary based on what I have scryed
>Initial 3rd will introduce a bunch of cool ideas
>Middle 3rd will create a whole bunch of plotlines with huge implications for the universe
>Last 3rd will abruptly careen to a stop in an anti-climax and 80% of the plotlines will be left for "other writers to explore"
>Hickmangays will cope that it's editorial's fault
It wont be as a good as Secret Warriors and FF but maybe it'll be ok.
I'm guessing this is how they convinced Hickman to take over Ultimate Invasion.
It probably took a while but the deal was probably "If you allow me to do this, you allow me to do this". I'm guessing they didn't want to run them concurrently so they got Ultimate out first, so that Hickman can indulge in this idea. He probably pitched this along with the Krakoa stuff, but Marvel probably had alot of plans with the cosmic and magic stuff and they didn't want to upend it. But now, given how nobody is really doing big things there, except for GOTG, they probably just allowed Hickman to write G.O.D.S, to shake things up.
The GoTg aren't even really doing big things now anyways. the current evil planet killer groot story arc takes place on the edge of known space away from any major cosmic players.
Ultimate Invasion was likely a little furthet along the pipeline considering Cates was apparently preparing to write this before whatever the frick happened to him.
I'm excited too, should be a fun read 🙂
I'm excited. I like Hickman's writing and hope he will finish this. This and Immortal Thor are the stories that have me interested plus Doctor Strange.
