It's funny how much attention this captured during 2015 because of the subject matter, but almost 10 years later and this would just seem like any other show being released.
Nobody would even give a frick, unless it was based on an existing franchise of some sort.
I feel like it would still garner some attention as long as someone looked into it and realized it was a money laundering scheme like people did back then
Something about Gen Zed's production makes people think there was way more than meets the eye to its cancellation when "backlash from the part of the internet you'd expect backlash from" supposedly intimidated them out of making it. Then the animation in the trailer wasn't even close to presentable but represented what had to be an almost finished pilot.
The theory goes that Gen Zed was made as some kind of money laundering or Hollywood accounting style shindig where they knew it wasn't gonna be made to begin with because the quality in the trailer didn't near match something you'd expect. It's known they were gonna try to switch to 2.5D but the way the whole thing went radio silent has such a weird feeling to it. Especially since how the hell do you just suddenly switch animation styles and contract a whole new studio when you clearly had a shoestring to begin with. I know that the Lost Media types are now heavily interested in finding the pilot now.
This show would get more attention now because of the whole "groomer" thing. This is before Bill 1557 and popular conservatives saying they aim to remove trans people from public.
That's just millennials, who were blessed enough to get a real generational name.
I fricking HATE the term gen z and how they're trying to homogenize all the generations. Gen X originally meant a literal X as in unidentifiable, but now it's just the standard naming convention. Gen X, Z, Alpha, it's all so fricking soulless. It's why I will forever use zoomer.
Being back REAL generation names
Gen x/Latchkeys
Gen Y/Millennials
Gen Z/Zoomers (though the same mainstream outlets were trying to get "iGeneration" going, the internet term won out)
Gen Alpha/Honey Badgers (so far)

A lot of the child psychologist people who pushed it don't get it's being used as much in a derogatory fashion as a positive one.
>Honey Badgers
You made that up just now. That's not real.
Gen x/Latchkeys
Gen Y/Millennials
Gen Z/Zoomers (though the same mainstream outlets were trying to get "iGeneration" going, the internet term won out)
Gen Alpha/Honey Badgers (so far)
>naming a generation after a dated meme which was only ever popular for a month
It feels largely pushed by their own parents because that whole "defying authority" attitude they have comes from a lack of structure and parental attachment.
You saw this with X and their zoomer kids too, when there is some ridiculously large social problem with a generation, count on the people who fricked up to begin with to start larping as the people who "get" the youth and are "with it".
Gen alpha is ipad babies
I've heard Honey Badgers, iPad Babies, and Generation Glass (referring to screens) so far.

I have a newborn son and it's depressing to think he'll be defined by something we aren't even letting him touch before he can use an actual computer.

LMAO, ur son is actually on the cusp of gen alpha and gen beta. unironically i think most younger milennials and zoomers will see their younger brothers or sisters act as little ipad tyrants. me personally my child has to learn how to read and write before they can use a computer or ipad

Makes you wonder if we'll ever reach a post-literacy age where the majority of people are so functionally illiterate that they struggle to read and write text and have to use images and sound only to communicate.

Considering every modern country collects taxes and enough monthly expenses to require budgeting, everyone will at least have to know enough math to handle that. indeed people from poorer areas will have to understand numbers more.
but if the literacy assumption isn't good anymore then I wonder if we'll all still be held to the legal standard that we "agreed to" all those click-through and shrinkwrap EULAs that previous generations have always ignored.
but if society can re-arrange itself so that working-class people can function without literacy, it will absolutely do so. imagine a working class that can't read, imagine how much harder their bosses can exploit them.

I mean, we already have services that help you manage out your subscriptions, because apparently people forget about services they pay for monthly. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people just don't cash out whatever number's on the bill.

Okay, to be fair, for all their shit, they are 100% on the illiteracy shit. It'll mostly be the tail end of Z with that problem but there is now an unprecedented level of children being forced to repeat a grade in America for the low reading scores, namely around the 3rd grade.
Covid babies are gonna be really fun to track because their stunted development is showing up in kindergartens. For instance, it's common for kids to cry on their first day or week of kindergarten but the covid babies do it all the time.

If that occurs it will be due to the public schools lowering standards for stupid children rather than actually teaching them shit.

I like generation glass because it can also refer to them being fragile.

Honestly, Badgers does work for me because Alpha are shown to not have the same fragile stereotype as Z or Millennials so far. Badger encompasses them better as their big defining trait rn is menacing their teachers for no fricking reason

Nah Honey Badger ain't winning out
If anything something referencing Alphas being first or best will win out and be the defining name of Generation Alpha. Maybe something duragatory like A-hole Generation
In hindsight the promo looked incredibly low budget. Foamy the Squirrel level low budget. Legit looks like a newgrounds series but it was made in 2015.
You can tell this was made nearly 10 years ago, because he thinks Gen Z are teenagers.
The average zoomer is in their 20s, while the youngest are in their late teens. >t. Zoomer
Why’s it taking them 8 years to get those goddamn Doritos?

Q-forced dropped and was quickly forgotten. Nobody would give a shit about this in 2024
It wasn't anything provocative in 2015 either, it got attention because it looked really bad, not because its subject matter was anything unusual.
Imagine getting upset about this.
It was a grift so anyone is entitled to feel upset
Two more weeks.

Lemme guess, self-insert for the troony writer?
100% accurate.
Well she IS wearing high heels

I just called them pretentious.

Alright, where's the porn for the girl on the right?
Why even happened to this? Did the creators run with the money?
In hindsight the promo looked incredibly low budget. Foamy the Squirrel level low budget. Legit looks like a newgrounds series but it was made in 2015.
Oveja, Nancysauria, Kalcifrente y el Kirts
Seriously, what's the girl on the right's name and what's the most user-friendly AI?
I remember mr. enter seething big time over this
Are you sure not confusing him with Mr.Metokur?
Lol I haven't seen a selfie stick in so long.

So what actually happened to this and why was it never made?
could some give me a rundown on what happened to this series?
three men living with an underage girl who's desperate for attention. what could go wrong.
anyway, no one's ever explained to me how trans stuff isn't sexist. like how are you not enforcing sex roles
