He was in an alternate time-line where black people were more evolved than whites and ruled earth
It was a massive plot hole. The Statue of Liberty originated on earth, whereas this is the planet of the apes. They never really explain this.
But why did the Apes transport the Statue of Liberty to their planet, only to bury it in sand?
The Earth blew up with such force that its debris was pushed into Hyper-Space and crashed all over the universe. Just-so-happened that the Statue of Liberty wound up on that planet.
I'm a bit hungover so I can't tell if you guys are trolling or not. I thought it was pretty obvious that the reveal meant he didn't go to another planet but instead went through a wormhole or something that sent them into the future and they landed on earth again. Apparently enough time has passed for human civilisation to completely collapse. The chimps did not peacefully demographically replace humans because they were incapable of sustaining that level of civilisation at the time. So society collapsed, humans somehow regressed whilst chimps evolved to a point they could basically have a advanced civilisation of their own. Humans being a species with subpar intelligence, capable of usage for basic manual labour roles but incapable of intellectual thought or even coherent speech became an eternal slave population. Add on the fact chimps probably have some ancient memories of fighting humans for survival, and you have a significant degree of hatred towards humans.
Black folk took over.

What’s not to get?
Yh I'm pretty sure someone admitted it was a race metaphor which is pretty based tbh. Especially the idea blacks won't be able to sustain the current level of civilisation created by whites for thousands of years minimum. They're just not evolved enough and it would need to happen relatively fast. Concurrently whites would have to regress intellectually maybe by just letting white trash trailer meth babies reproduce a lot. As long as there's a consistent dysgenic pattern amongst whites, this is entirely possible. Btw I remember more stuff related to this idea being revealed in the later OG planet of the apes films. Didn't they travel back in time to America.

The reason the ape's society is primitive in the movie was because it was simply cheaper to do budgetwise. In the book the apes have a society that is just as advanced as ours today, or at least the time in which the book was written. Also the racial aspect of the story was about people accepting each other despite the differences, not a subtle hint at blacks being somehow inferior.
>make a movie that's supposed to be anti racist >use monkeys as a stand in for black people
Tbh it's believable considering how racist a lot of leftists are. They care about black people the same way they care about dogs. Poor things that I need to save. They want black people to be like them out of pity I guess and use their token black friend or colleague like you use a cute work puppy. Dressing it up like a human with cute clothes and parading it to all your friends. It's funny when they don't behave the same way with Asians. At work I always see the token black diversity hire getting praise for doing the bare minimum whilst the dozen Asian guys who do twice as much as the average don't even get a bit of appreciation.
>that scene where they're excavating the cave and Cornelius is explaining how shit gets more fricked the further you go back, with strata filled with cannibal gorillas and sickly humans rotting to death in the post-apocalypse
Its like when you see a car in the background of a movie set in medieval times. It wasn't intentional. Where they had the set, the statue of liberty was accidentally in the background but the editors didn't notice and it somehow made it to the final cut

My understanding is that it was Earth's past all along and there was no fixing it after the space station crashed and unleashed the apes. Marky Mark goes back to the present but the timeline is fricked.
They did it to themselves.
What are the odds... France really has been everywhere
they blew it up. damn them.
Monkeys are terrible structural engineers
Black folk took over.

Aliens kidnapped the Statue of Liberty and took it to the planet
Stupid, sexy monkey aliens.

Similar to Se7en it is such a memorable ending because of its ambiguity and how it's so up for interpretation/debate
>'what's in the box?' anons wondered forever more
masterful
>Similar to Se7en
the ending of seven is 100% concrete. wtf are you talking about?
they blew it up anon
But the statue is right there. In tact

onions green is kaiser soze
The movie was set in France all along, what's not to get
The whole movie was a metaphor about the US being a country of monkeys pretending to be civilized.
It's a nod to Spaceball
I din't get it
My understanding is that it was Earth's past all along and there was no fixing it after the space station crashed and unleashed the apes. Marky Mark goes back to the present but the timeline is fricked.
Putin Monke won
In this timeline, Osama Bin Laden blew up the Statue of Liberty.
Yeah it never made sense like why would the apes build one with a human face?
It's people. Onions Green™...it's people.
The apes represent Black folk.
Liberty's torch is the DRILL THAT WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!
We was monke the whole time
I'm an absolute brainlet so I only realized what this scene was about when they explained it in the Simpsons.
The monkeys were so advanced they managed to steal the statue of liberty from earth
Monkeys converted to Judaism.
they blew it up those bastards
It really hit me hard when i was watching it as a kid. How freaking sad it is.
