There are plenty of horror movies that are not gorey, though. In fact, many of the most highly acclaimed horror films have little - if any - gore, and are often less so than "action films".
>Also, 99% of horror movies are awful.
How are they awful?
I hate Horror movies so you don't have to tell me.
I can easily explain why I don't like them. It's because I don't even watch movies unless I like the characters. That means if I watch a Horror movie with actors I like, I'll be watching horrible shit happen to them.
The only ones I like are the ones where the protagonist is fine.
it is extremely common for people to have no interest in horror movies I think they feel about horror movies the way I feel about cartel movies like they have that much of a visceral impact on them even if it's something as stupid as Friday the 13th
Torture porn miseryslop >yooo when that clown skinned that woman alive while she was begging for help and crying and he poured salt into her wounds I was soooo scared bro
This shit is not horror
Wrong. Slashers are not "horror" especially the slop like terrifier where the scenes can be overlapped with monty python music and it would still sync up
I've never understood people who enjoy being scared. It must be a type of masochism and that's why women like Horror and true crime and that garbage. I never enjoy being scared but I am a lot. I still function, though, and I think that's what being a man is about. I'm scared but I'll take a walk at night anyway and meet absolutely no one because everyone is too scared to take the same walk.
I took a walk the other night and these two wastrel creatures approached me, one directly on the sidewalk, the other on the street with his bike. The one on the sidewalk was an older guy with a scarred messed up face. The other guy was who made me uneasy though, a large young guy with a menacing dark expression. The old guy stuck out his hand and said 'there's some stuff going down I need to know you're ok with it'. I said 'huh? where'? He said 'with me'. I said 'ok yeah' and shook his hand.
So that is probably why people don't go out on walks.
I can understand enjoying an adrenaline rush because I'm a Dota player and I can get the heart pumping by playing that game instead of watching bad shit happen to people.
I feel like that's a lot healthier because my memory is so good that if I were into Horror, I'd be able to remember everything I saw and that shit would just haunt me forever. I think Horror is for people that are able to forget.
Nice joke but it's not a horror game. The best description I can give for Dota is a game of Chess played by 10 players. It's an extreme mental battle and there's no Horror. Anyone can go on Yotube and watch gameplay to see how intense it is. It's two teams of five people trying to kill each other.

If you're going to be rude then I'll leave the thread. It's not a good thread anyway. It's nice that people come into the few threads I have left on this board to insult me.

I hope you don't take it to heart my fren, he's not actually insulting you, he's just lashing out at an opinion he dislikes.
I am not a huge fan of horror movies but Evil Dead Rise was pretty good and I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. I can barely find movies to watch without ending up watching a hidden gem from Canada like Radius or more Korean films like The Killer. Hardly any new movies come to streaming. I only watched Avatar The Way of the Water and Extraction 2 this month.
I used to have night terrors as a kid and horror movies ironically helped me get over that. It's a mix of scary and cozy and a good way of appropriating the scariest side of life.
I have no issues with my friends not liking it. It makes it funnier when I force them to watch some.
Without using buzzwords, explain why?
Being entertained by gorey movies is not healthy. Also, 99% of horror movies are awful.
There are plenty of horror movies that are not gorey, though. In fact, many of the most highly acclaimed horror films have little - if any - gore, and are often less so than "action films".

How are they awful?
Shut the frick up, Jay you homosexual.
Who's Jay? One of your Discord friends?
>healthy

>awful

Try again.
>Also, 99% of horror movies are awful.
99% of anything is awful.
sex is like 50%
I think you're confusing slasher with horror. In that case you'd be correct, slasher is all dog shit.
The original Black Christmas and Halloween are great.
I hate Horror movies so you don't have to tell me.
I can easily explain why I don't like them. It's because I don't even watch movies unless I like the characters. That means if I watch a Horror movie with actors I like, I'll be watching horrible shit happen to them.

Shut up. I'll always love horror movies.
i like horror movies but not dumb shit like terrifier
Torture porn miseryslop
>yooo when that clown skinned that woman alive while she was begging for help and crying and he poured salt into her wounds I was soooo scared bro
This shit is not horror
How is that not Horror? Sounds pretty horrible. Luckily, I've never spoken to someone who enjoys that kind of movie; not even on Cinemaphile.
It was a pretty shit movie tbh and I saw it in theaters.
ya i agree, its just shit
>a serial killer murdering people isn't horror
It's literally one of the most common types of horror movie. Keep coping.
Wrong. Slashers are not "horror" especially the slop like terrifier where the scenes can be overlapped with monty python music and it would still sync up
>google slashers
>it says it's a type of horror movie
>google horror icons
>a bunch of slasher characters pop up
Horror is a midwit genre. Terror is kino.
>I do not like horror movies
oh well
Don't tell me what to do.
tfw cancel culture is coming for an entire genre next
q: Why do people like horror? a: Because they are bad people.
I like to suspend my disbelief and get spooked and scared a bit, but I have a real distaste for the gorey stuff
Saw and the like I do not really like
Yea, tourtureporn sucks. I thought the first Saw was good though.

>I never enjoy being scared but I am a lot.
I'm not scared very often, so to someone like me who isn't a total pussy it has the same effect as a rollercoaster or getting into a fight.
It's the adrenaline people tend to enjoy.

There it is, you play horror games.

reminder: there is no such thing as slow burn atmospheric horror, these are just pretentious movies.
Sounds like you've been filtered quite a bit and are seething in butthurt.
I used to have night terrors as a kid and horror movies ironically helped me get over that. It's a mix of scary and cozy and a good way of appropriating the scariest side of life.

horror movies are GAY
terror movies are great

Why? Because you said so? I'm good tbh
