Matt Damon was so busy with being a quintuple agent that he wasn't taking out the trash. Lots of critters in that part of Boston.

I always took the rat at the end to be cheeky and funny. why do people think it's so serious?

i remember Scorsese saying that it's ironic that he finally won the Oscar when he made a B-movie

    Bostonian here.

    The rat represents black people.

Come to Boston Common. On the north side of the grass is that building. To the south is downtown crossing. The black people in That part of the city will rob amd assault you and steal everything from you. From tremont street to park street do NOT relax around the south end of the common. Theres more of them than you, i, and cops combined and this is where they torched the cop car in 2020, outside beantown pub. White lives dont matter in this part of boston.

What's always bothered me is that apartment would have to be in front of the Park Street Church or else it would be visible in the shot. The buildings between the church and the old Fox 25 studio aren't residential. Or it's the Suffolk Law building. This is what happens when Ben Affleck doesn't direct.

I can see why thats an annoyance but what really bothered me was the homeless black man that sucker punched me and stole my phone when i told him i didnt have any money walking through that area.

I used to work on Charles Street. It was really funny having to look at these people still flying BLM flags board up their smashed windows. Dennis and Callahan did nothing wrong.

You ever wonder why they smashed the door of and robbed the blue moon smoke shop on newbury st? Doesnt seem like the pipe store is a pillar of racist oppression to me.

It's racist to expect Mondays to pay for their menthols.

The METCO comment was pretty fricked up. I was surprised they survived that even though it was a different time.

Frank was gay for Billy. The movie makes no sense otherwise. There is ample evidence on the screen.

The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where feed and seed both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Chuck's", implying that the shop was owned by Chuck at some point. So, when Chuck owned the shop, it would have been called "Chuck's Feeduck & Seeduck".

I was watching Mark Wahlberg's "breakdown of his career" on youtube and he seemed so fricking pissed talking about The Departed. He wanted either Matt Damon or Leo's role so bad (i don't think he's ever said) and Marty insisted on the one he got. He turned it down like five times and finally accepted but seems so fricking bitter to this day

He's just mad about the Vietnamese plot getting cut.

i'm assuming he wanted Leo's role since that's something he hasn't really done before and he would have been a terrible fit in it

I was so angry after that part when Leo comes down the elevator. Not many movies can piss me off like that. Good job Scorsese
