Most mammals don't. The uterus simply absorbs the old placenta, then generates a new one. Saves nutrients, and does not create a mess. A human uterus just panics and spits everything out, with some extra blood.
not that anon, but I think it is because our reproductive cycles are continuous. Our life spans are longer and we don't have heat seasons, so the female body just produce and throws away.
>but what evolutionary advantage
1. Do you really think we understand evolution completely?
2. Do you really think our scientists understand biology completely?
3. Do you really think human beings are the most perfect animal on Earth.
Instead of replying, I suggest you think about it. Long and hard.
Actually it seems to (possibly) be a trade off for the mother’s body having more control over how much energy the fetus steals. Most mammals let the (fertilized) embryo release the chemicals that trigger growing a uterine lining, but in humans, the mother’s body triggers growing the lining (at ovulation) and ignores any signals coming from any embryo. The downside is that a new lining grows every month instead of only when there’s a fertilized embryo, but the upside is the embryo can’t get greedy and demand an extra thick uterine lining and starve the mother.
>Muh biological accuracy in funny cartoon animals
Is this a modern phenomenon? It’s really insufferable. I feel like 15 years ago people understood what a cartoon character was
it's implied the male rabbit said he's late, and his wife say's she's late too, referring to her period

He knocked her up. His catchphrase is "I'm late, I'm late!!" Rabbits don't HAVE periods, so this IS kinda dumb.
>Rabbits don't HAVE periods
Really?
Most mammals don't. The uterus simply absorbs the old placenta, then generates a new one. Saves nutrients, and does not create a mess. A human uterus just panics and spits everything out, with some extra blood.
So why do human females have periods? What evolutionary advantage does that provide

Evolution often just means "having this feature did not cause extinction," without being anything close to peak performance.
Evolution doesn't always mean the best trait got passed down, just the ones that did not interfere with the ability to reproduce.

Eww
Most animals don't. Have you ever seen one bleed everywhere?nkddm
estrus is not the same as menstruation
Most rabbits can't talk or walk upright either.
>this cartoon character isn’t biologically accurate
Rabbits also don’t wear clothes so this is kind of dumb
>Muh biological accuracy in funny cartoon animals

Rampant autism or people wanting to show off that they know something.
>Rabbits don't HAVE periods, so this IS kinda dumb.
They also don't wear clothes, need glasses or fricking talk you stupid troon.
Okay, but why are both of them surprised? Were they not planning to have children? Is that his mistress?
even when you're trying for children there's a moment of surprise when you first process that it's really happening
Why the male rabbit is so ungrateful to his wife for having a baby?. None of this would be happening if his wife had paired up with a human male.
Literally 1984?
You’re dumb
What if OP pretended to be dumb?
>"I'm late! I'm late! I'm late to go to the store for cigarettes!"
