This show was pretty mediocre yeah and a lot of people liked it. Okay, that’s normal
But why did the ending suddenly make everyone who watched this show throw a shit fit. I mean look at SU, they got a garbage final season yet at most they were just disappointed. Same with Owl House and the frog show. Only Star Vs fans acted so irrational. Why?

The last two seasons were pretty bad. By the time the finale came along they were pretty burnt out on the show being written genuinely badly.

You had to be there. If you weren’t a trooper from at least BonBon, and even that is newbie territory, you wouldn’t get why the ending was met with such repudiation. Examine /trash/ archives during the show’s then-hiatus periods if you actually want to see what it once was, and what it became.
People watched star for the drama / YA stuff and more or less universally agreed the show was shit.
SU on the other hand was about DEEP LOOOORE and everyone pretended really hard nothing was happening when steven was being a complete lardass social moron imposing toxic positivity.

Because SU (not counting Future) and Owl House had incredibly rushed finales so even if they were disappointed most reasonable fans gave them the benefit of the doubt. Amphibia 3A was hated because it was boring filler but 3B and the finale were mostly well received outside of clone Anne and the epilogue was divisive but not whole negative. Say what you want about Star overall but season 2 + Battle for Mewni were super hype. It was only after and incredibly disappointing season 3 and 4 that people were hoping would be redeemed by the finale only for the finale to double down on everything wrong with the last two seasons, multiply it by 100x and have Star commit genocide on top of it all.

Owl House and Amphibia's ending were just mediocre, not much to rage at so I don't even know why that's apart of the conversation.
Also, SU was much more controversial than Star Vs (before the finale that is) so SU fricking up wasn't much of a surprise to anyone.
The massive sperg-out was caused by the cognitive dissonance between the version of Star Vs that only existed in fan creations and Star Vs as it actually existed. Obsessive nerds who believed that the version of the show they made up in their heads was the real show simply could not handle the truth and lashed out at the show instead of themselves.
We all know the only good ships were those involving Marco cucking star with girls from multiverse of Disney, otherwise we have bullshit like what that moron did.

Season 3 and 4 was already showing signs of heading down the drain:
