I love Patrice because I just enjoyed the dude as a human being in general. He was a huge piece of shit and was honest about that fact often. It was also aggravating in the last years of his career when he started leaning hard into the advice stuff. I did not agree with most of his takes, the dude had some very warped ideas about women and dropped the best truisms when it came to relationships in general, not just romantic ones. He was very honest about how he sabotaged his own career multiple times often at the expense of friends.
He also just had one of the best laughs I've ever heard. People who are calling him the token black man never really listened to him. He took over the room whenever he was in it, unless it was in the corner to take a nap. There is a reason the most circulated O&A era clips are the days where he's on.
He was a complex dude and I miss his presence. Feels lucky to have seen him to perform live even once.
