How do I convince the government that I'm too moronic to work and that I should get handouts?

Well, go try to sign up for benefits and look at all the check boxes you can mark for various disabilities and make it happen.

I've been dying to do the same. very unhappy with my life, feel trapped and unfulfilled. Are you worried about anything? Did you plan your exit for a while? I'm over here afraid to make the leap with over 2yrs expenses saved up and a business idea I've already made a start at

not worried. It was a dead end factory job and they are currently desperate to hire. I just woke up one day and decided I wasn't going in, wasn't really planned, just exhausted with it all.
I have about 2 years of saving as well. I'll go back at some point but just living how I want to for for now.

nice, independent man. I might see the rest of the year out, but I'll give them the two weeks notice as I could very well end up back there again

My place was taking people back who were fired for some crazy shit. Being drunk, sexual harassment, threatening mangers. 2 weeks notice is for companies who give a shit, and no one does anymore. Would they have given you 2 weeks notice of a layoff?

feels pretty empowering to know i could just walk out of work and be perfectly fine for 2-3 years. that said i've had a new job for the past few months and it hasn't been so bad, just gonna keep saving up for the time being

I miss humour like this, it's how our dads would talk about most things back in the day.

English teacher in a third world country. It's 100% work from home, and I only work about 28 hours a week. Doesn't pay enough to have much in the way of savings, but it covers all the bills, food and then some, so I can't complain too much.

Attorney. Currently in between jobs as I am finally fixing severe TMJ that was preventing me from focusing on anything but how fricked my jaw/shoulder/neck felt. I don't really like being an attorney and hated biglaw but miss getting 10k a month after tax

How hard is it to go about getting benefits for generalized anxiety disorder? How do these benefits work? Never had a job for longer than a day and except for that one day the only other work I've ever done has been with my dad and my part of that only involves lifting heavy shit and fetching tools.

Quit my work-from-home programmer job like 2 months ago. I don't really want to get another one, just living off savings not really thinking about it. I'm learning a language and just relaxing, reading and watching series all day.

Not sure what I'm going to do when the money runs out but that's future me's problem.
