Don't know about the actor, but his character in Scream was always a fan favorite. People were upset that the rumours of his return for Scream 2 were false and have been calling for it to happen every sequel. It was alluded to in the most recent movie. I don't get how you can sensibly write him as alive after having a television dropped on his head and his corpse never disappearing, though.

Sensible isn't a problem, this Scream series has been absolute irredeemable trash since Scream 5. You do something like his dad bribed the coroner to falsely report his death or whatever, do whatever you have to to bring some excitement and life back into this franchise. At this point, the return of the Stu is literally the only angle. Who gives a flying frick about some random literal who pulling off the mask for the seventh time? If they wanna keep doing their gay meta commentary it can be on franchises jumping the shark or drudging up fan favorites to maintain interest.
