I dont think Ive been more disappointed in my entire life

He was given the time, resources, and got the people together to make this the best adaption of the original Scott Pilgrim story and instead of doing that it was an entirely different story for a cheap MGS2-esque bait and switch.
People keep bringing MGS2 up as if it's a valid comparison when it's really not. The themes and story work better with Raiden than Snake as Raiden is a new character while Snake completed his arc in MGS1. Also Snake isn’t completely taken out of the story unlike Scott. The themes of this show don’t really work very well with Ramona and has little depth imo
I find it kinda ironic that despite being about Ramona and her development it’s entire plot is still centered around Scott lmao
Ramona has a ton of development in the comic so this adaptation feels really useless and just gives us a boring whodunit story
This shitshow made me appreciate how Fnaf was adapted with the Fnaf Movie which was peak
Ep4 was the best but very low bar
Gideon (Now Gordon) gets together with Julie
They make you feel sympathy for someone who was a sexual abuser in the comics which they barly touch upon btw
Shits all over the point of the ending from the book by having some time travel/AU thing going on with Future Scott basically being from the Comic timeline and being divorced from Ramona ruining the ambiguity of the comic's ending
I have this theory that Future Scott took Present Scott away from the past where he made a new timeline (this show) meaning he never confronted Nega Scott which is why Future Scott is crazy and toxic
That might be too smart for my own personal theory that they didn't even think about for this show
New Scott Pilgrim content is fine but why did this shit have to be made if it couldn't even follow the first book
There wasn't really an attempt
>Lisa only gets a tiny cameo
I'll have to give it a 6/10 from the animation alone kinda want to give it a 7 because of 7 evil exes but nah
>Why couldn't they just adapt the comic that's all I wanted

Even though one of the THEMES of the story is growing up with and accepting change

If you got a problem with the end product, take it up with Bryan, this was always HIS story.

      >Reminds me of how hard street fighter third strike was rejected because people wanted the boring as frick world warriors back despite their part 3 counter parts being way better
3rd strike is the third entry in the street fighter 3 series. SF3 failed when the first entry, SF3 New Generation, came out. The roster is shit compared to SFA2 and parry is kind of a shit mechanic. Also there's a good amount of broken stuff in it. By the time 3rd strike was released the fighting game market was super saturated and 3D was the new hotness. Games like Bloody Roar 2, DOA2, Marvel vs Capcom, MSvSF, etc all released in or around 99.
I know the "gamers are babbies who hate change" narrative is popular in some circles but picrel, the final fight crew, and some other standouts from the alpha series are all still fan favorites. SF3 was just a shitty game when it came out despite being beautiful.

What's funny about this statement are the dumbasses deliberately forgetting that people are free to complain and give criticism if the trailer of a show/movie display that it will follow closely to the novels/comics, and when said show/movie does a good ol' bait and switch, and does the complete opposite, said dumbasses are mad and apathetic at that the viewers for being upset that the storylines they'd hoped to see on the screens turned into the bastardized version of itself. Yeah, they'll be mad. I get that not everything in a novel/comic will not work well on screen, but damn it, limitations forces creativity, at least compensate while trying to be faithful.

It's Scott Pilgrim: Rebuild. I understand why people hate it but atleast he tried to do something different. I agree that an accurate adaption of the actual comics animated in this comic would be much better. They should have done an accurate adaption in S1 so it exists, then make S2 this Ramona alt universe spinoff.

The original comic is pretty mid, just 1-2-3 basic progression that the movie more or less did. Young Neil vocalized BLOs attitude about it in one of the episodes, that he just wrote it but doesn't feel like it's sacred or anything.

I just don't get it from a planning perspective.
He could have easily had this as his next project if he created a standalone product that could have been a hit, like a straight adaptation of the comic.
Instead he only gets this, and it's unlikely to bring in much of a new audience because it's very esoteric for a cartoon and a lot of cartoon fans don't read comics at all.

They didn't even continue the "the movie: the game" bit despite it being clearly what they were going for, especially with the musical.
I think my biggest problem with it (aside from being an 8 episode FF7R instead of a 24 episode anime adapting the comics definitively) is that this could have been Scott Pilgrim: Ramona side (her reconciling/closing the chapter with all of her exes herself) and just as easily ended up with the version of Scott that beats up all of the exes and self-actualizes just like ramona does, but it's instead just scott if everything that happens post-meeting ramona doesn't happen (but he's aware of it because he told himself).
I guess they didn't want to be another PARALLEL UNIVERSES franchise, as if time-travel is any different.
Other than that, I can't really say I disliked it, I just feel cheated.

It was decent, but they took the menace out of the animatronics

If you're upset over Scott Pilgrim yiu should be upset about fnaf.
