I don't get why people like Robin Williams. Looking back on him his whole joke is "I'm from San Francisco and please kill me I want out of my misery I hate myself so much," but fast.
His comedy wasn't suicidal at all, he did a lot of mainstream family-friendly stuff.
I personally liked his more dramatic stuff like One Hour Photo. Also his episode on Whose Line is it Anyway is a masterpiece.
>his more dramatic stuff like One Hour Photo
Lol my local tape rental place saw ROBIN WILLIAMS on the box and stuck in in the comedy aisle.
It was NOT a funny movie...
Soul.
This movie is hot garbage but Hollywood would NEVER take a risk like this nowadays. You'd get the safest, blandest adaptation with a safe and respectable celebrity voice cast, a couple of top 40 80s songs on the soundtrack, and a promotion at IHOP.
Yeah, but it's basically an SNL skit just like those are. The only difference is that SNL has gone from mostly unfunny people to a bunch of sheltered moralgays the likes of which Comstock would have creamed his drawers over.
You could be the biggest hater of 2003 Cat in the Hat, but you gotta admit the props and use of practical effects are impressive. I'd watch a whole documentary on that. It can't be easy to bring Dr. Seuss designs to life.
My favorite part in this movie is when he starts fixing the couch and an elephant randomly pops out
And for some reason he starts fricking beating the shit out of it
I'm gonna be honest I haven't seen it since I saw it in 03 as a kid. I don't remember it well, I'm just vaguely aware that at the time it was thought to be terrible. I'd be quite interested to hear your analysis on why it is good though, if you have the time.
This movie is both better and worse every time I've seen it
Also, it's amazing just how much the quality shifts pre and post-cupcake scene. Pre-cupcake Cat is constantly wheezing at his awful shitty jokes, the kids are miserable, the thing is a slog. Cupcake and Beyond the Cat is way funnier, the kids are actually alive, they pick on fish for being a c**t. It's like two different movies.
This is my second favorite shitty movie, my first favorite is David Lynch's Dune. I've watched Cat in the Hat 12+ times, maybe 20
*better
t. irony poisoned zoom zoom
No green arrow so you’re the irony poisoned zoom-zoom.
I'LL GET YOU, AND IT'LL LOOK LIKE A BLOODY ACCIDENT
Kelly Preston was hot in this one
This, but Dakota Fanning.
bump
Kys pedo
super mario bros
Somewhere out there someone was watching an Austin Powers film and thought "You know what? This guy would make a great cat in the Hat".
This is a good contender.
This was right on the heels of Jim Careys Grinch, it made sense at the time.
Dang it.

He blew out his mind with the coke.
It seems really cruel that people kept laughing instead of getting him institutionalized for a bit. He'd needed an intervention since Garp.

I'm not particularly fond of Robin Williams, but that doesn't describe his comedy at all.
That's not his comedy at all. He was a jokes by volume comedian. Even if some of his jokes didn't land, others did so you were laughing anyway.
What they wanted was a movie based on this:
Then there was a lot of arguing about contracts and The Cat In The Hat was ultimately what came out of it.
this fricking sucked and I'm tired of pretending it didn't

I assume the car behind it is from viva rock vegas
that movie was great and the actor hated it so fricking much, it was perfect.
the restraint it took for them not to put
>sex
>yes please
that registration number is someone's actual social security number and date of birth
5/25/63 is Mike Myers's birthdate
Oh my god they actually went and wrote the text for the contract. That's impressive.
Where are my dirty anons?
what are you even asking
Did you just call my mother ugly?

I can't tell if its some how nuanced or if I have an ape brain but that part makes me laugh every time
the conversation between them would be epic XD
Martha May has an Ugly Bastard fetish
Martha May gave me a thing for women's armpits
Did they have some good pit shots? I only saw it once, a long time ago.
this shit's so weird
Cat in the hat is a genuinely great movie and it's depressing the sheer amount of morons who can't recognize that

It’s funny. Even if you don’t find it funny it’s captivating in its absurdity. It gets you hooked all the way through which is a rarity these days.

That's part of the charm.
I used to get picked on when I was around 10-12 because I looked just like the fat kid.
