I feel like it's a pretty common complaint that boy characters get to be fricking wacky, abstract shapes and girl characters and very reserved in their designs. Even The Incredibles is guilty of this where Dash, Bob, that boss character, the government agent, Syndrome and even Dash's teacher have a big variety in shapes and sizes. Meanwhile, on the female side, you have Helen, Violet, and Mirage who are all extremely similar and then Edna who is the "designated ugly one" even including the big glasses.
