One bad season is fine.
Sopranos are just some childish trash. Criminals? Looooool. McNulty would catch these lossers between morning coffee and 5 o'clock whiskey.
Yes.
In the end everyone just die so final doesn't matter, btw recursive theme of the wire that everything just goes in circle. It's how you go by this road not final destination.

S Tier Wire characters are as follows >Slim >Chris >Snoop >Weebay >Spiros
and that's it
Everyone else is A or B, aside from Jimmy and Stringer who are both for peak bellcurve simpletons, and Gus who flies in the face of the show's prior desire to portray somewhat realistic characters and is instead a Gary Stu self-insert of David Simon, but he was actually well acted unlike McNulty and Stringer

>S Tier Wire characters are as follows
wrong
there is only one S tier character in all of the wire and you didnt even mention him
>Criminal: The Wire.
i think the wire had much higher highs than sopranos, but overall there is so much of low quality stuff in it that brings it down in my eyes. i know the point of the show was to show a life from many different angles, but i wish there was an stronger anchor, be it through core character(s) or a story and that there werent so many insufferable actors (bubbles, lesbian cop, mcnuttys cargo port cop)
personally, i find sopranos to be overrated, but i still think it is better at telling its story than the wire. it's very concise and consistent. you get through it easier and it feels like it lasts much shorter when in reality it is longer than the wire >Overall: Mad Men.
i never could've made it past episode 2. maybe it is because my parents arent divorced i have a strong male role model in my father... idk
>Deadwood
yes >Breaking
You're on fricking reddit pills if you think that's better than the Sopranos >Star Trek TNG
I don't have the autism gene that makes Trek palatable so I wouldn't know >Treme
One of the least interesting shows I've ever seen >Generation Kill
As a miniseries it's maybe the best, but it's not comparable to a regular series
I nominated Breaking Bad over The Sopranos simply because the characters were for the most part better written and more interesting. There is also a disturbing lack of consequence in a lot of the Sopranos. Inconvenient activities and shit that would blatantly draw massive police attention are just handwaved away. It’s pretty bad.
>There is also a disturbing lack of consequence in a lot of the Sopranos. Inconvenient activities and shit that would blatantly draw massive police attention are just handwaved away. It’s pretty bad.
Like how Hank took 5 seasons to figure out Walter was Heisenberg?
But I digress, the fact that you even give a shit about that but don't mind the terminator twins or Gus being psychic proves my point. Midwit.
Sopranochads don't need to spoonfeed every single pleb who comes across their path about what a masterpiece it is. Now, run along and stick to your Barbie threads 😉
I don't know why either. There's definitely some good bits in it but it's too drawn out. It should have been three seasons at most with the filler bullshit family mundane soap opera shit cut. >b-but the boring stuff is the point of the show
Sounds like cope, and I don't care. The show suffers as a result of the filler. The "college" episode in the first season was fantastic but the show barely reaches that level of quality most of the time. There's plenty of memorable lines and scenes but overall it's a bloated show that feels for the first few seasons like it doesn't even know what direction it wants to take. In terms of overall quality, I'd have to go with Mad Men as the best show I've ever seen. Sopranos is still good, but it could be much better.
same as you
i tried to watch it several times but it's hard to go beyond the first episode. it is so cliche, characters unlikable, i would like to love it but i can't. My favorite shows are twin peaks and the wire.
Mafia friend simulator for boomers. It's got its funny moments and its clever moments, but every show has those. Writing is all over the place, characters disappear only to reappear when it's convenient for the plot, therapy scenes exist to literally spell out what little subtext there is to the morons who watch it, some of the worst dubbing and sound-mixing in television, utterly cringe social commentary, worst dream sequences in cinema. It's a goofy comedy that wants to be taken as a "prestige drama."
>Waiter follows Chris and Paulie to parking lot to complain about tip >Ends up shot dead >No headlines, no police heat, no repercussions
Written by idiots and admired by mids and pseuds.
"Build-up" implies that the ending in question has a bunch of hints, foreshadowing, and foundation to it. Not every show and its ending pulls this off satisfyingly. The Sopranos pulled it off masterfully. Now, suck my dick.
It’s a decent-but-not-great drama show on its own, but if you watch it for like 3 seasons it achieves a certain appeal where you’ve spent so much time with these characters and they’ve been fleshed out enough that they feel like real people, like your own friends and family members, and you get mildly emotionally invested in them. It becomes a sort of friend simulator.
if you look closely, the r I'm sopranos is a gun!
Holy shit!!
the sopgunanos? i don't get it, skip
Prove it. I see no evidence proving this assertion.
It’s about the best race of all time
Sopranos isn't about israelites, thougheverbeit.
You are not alone.
That's something culturally patriotic in American opinion about Mafia.
the show zoomer repellant makes it even better
You sure?
it's not
the best show is seinfeld
Because it's one of the best shows of all time.
Because you’re not white and you’re a dumb frick. It’s that simple.
Try watching it
it's one of the last white man kinos to ever come out
Italians aren't white anon.
Italians are the Mexicans of Europe (yes, much more so than Spaniards) and are catefrickingorically NOT white.
comfy, funny, well acted
Try watching it, homosexual.
incredible that you were able to make this post while being blind
people like soap operas
*TWHACK*
>I don't understand why this is regarded as one of the best shows of all time
what is in your opinion the greatest show of all time if not sopranos?
Criminal: The Wire.
Overall: Mad Men.
The Wire Season 5 is terrible. Sopranos has no bad seasons.
One bad season is fine.
Sopranos are just some childish trash. Criminals? Looooool. McNulty would catch these lossers between morning coffee and 5 o'clock whiskey.
>one bad season is fine
No
And certainly not if it's the final season, and even less so if there's only 5 seasons.
The Wire had only one bad season and The Sopranos had only one good season so it balances out.
Nice try
Yes.

It'd be one thing if it was before the final season, like this guy said:
but the last season of the show? You go out with a bang, not shitting your pants and smelling up the legacy of the show.

so a soap opera and a BBC show
phew
Deadwood
Breaking Bad
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Six Feet Under
Treme
Generation Kill
All far exceeding Sopranos in one or more aspects.

yes

seems like nobody ITT understands why either
LMFAO

I like it because it's comfy. It's like a sitcom or slice of life show. The therapy scenes are the best part.
What are your top shows of all time op?
I don't know why either. There's definitely some good bits in it but it's too drawn out. It should have been three seasons at most with the filler bullshit family mundane soap opera shit cut.

this is the best part in the whole show
thanks to Sopranos I can't believe at opinions from shows before 2005
I'm watching it now for the first time and I can't believe I always thought it's a meme show and never bothered with watching it.
You don't understand being attracted to females either, yet here we are.
I don't need you to like a show that I like
same as you
i tried to watch it several times but it's hard to go beyond the first episode. it is so cliche, characters unlikable, i would like to love it but i can't. My favorite shows are twin peaks and the wire.
Maybe stop being a dumb zoomer
it makes more sense if you're italian-american
boomers love larping as criminals
it is pathetic.

post ur breasts
Watch as many shows as you can, and then rewatch sopranos in 10 years time. You'll get it then.
OP here, I forgot to mention I'm trans.
Because it has the best writing and acting of any television show

IS THAT A HECKIN ARTISTIC ENDING? ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS ISNT A FANTASTIC ENDING IS AN UNCULTURED CLOD UNLIKE ME WHO IS ENLIGHTENED
>Fails to reconginize that the ending was a result of years of build-up.
Watch the show, dingus.
Every completed show’s ending is the result of years of build-up you fricking pseud.
"Build-up" implies that the ending in question has a bunch of hints, foreshadowing, and foundation to it. Not every show and its ending pulls this off satisfyingly. The Sopranos pulled it off masterfully. Now, suck my dick.
