I don’t understand. WISH is set in Muslim Spain it’s diverse and multicultural. The plot shows powerful women overcoming an evil man who controls the wishes of others
Why does everybody hate it? It’s what we want. The target demo loves it

Why is she black?
Why not?
Because Moors were olive-skinned.
It was very multiracial. There were many people with darker skin like her too.
It doesn't matter.
They died and were defeated by the kingdomes.
? So what, Iberian Muslims were sometimes light skinned and sometimes dark skinned, she is culturally accurate in terms of skin tone. What's the issue. Like, the movie sucks ass, but that's not because of her cultural inspiration/skin color regardless.
See her mother, she is half black
Moops.
Bacause meds hate Black folk
Well. She winds up growing into a fat white b***h, so there's genuine wonder why she's black.
The better question would be: why is she not black anymore?
Honestly I'd do the same if I had magic.
hail father yakub!
Why did you curse us so, father?
to either be violent handsome chad or give up violence and become gorillas?
Isn't fairy godmother just a title? There could be multiple ones
Nah, I like the theory that Asha is transracial more.
She gets both the wand and cloak at the end of the movie, though.
Besides her braid hair or whatever, she doesn't even look black, her slightly slanted eyes make her look like a really dark-skinned South East Asian
She's supposed to be a moor but for some reason the moronic animators decided to use a subsaharran African tribe as the reference for her.
I see. I guess it's to appeal to the black female minorities. Ugh, why propagandize a fricking kid's movie....
>black female minorities
this girl doesn't appeal to black women, only the extremely autistic ones. Nothing about Asha appeals to your average black girl. Also only 12% of America is black and much of the rest of the world hates black people openly, so I don't know what Disney was trying to accomplish or who this movie was meant to appeal to. It seems their strategy is to force feed us slop and assume we'll eat it no matter how little appeal it has.
Maybe it was an experiment to see how much Disney fans would put up with?
the last 10 years have felt like an experiment
You mean in general or in terms of Disney movies?
Moana was good.
The current trend is to believe that the Moors were black and that Al Andalus Spain was almost entirely black.
They also make the same claims of Pictish Britain.
>They also make the same claims of Pictish Britain.
No way- they can't be that stupid. I know they cast a black to play English nobility Anne Bolyn but that was stunt casting. They can't actually believe that the picts were black, can they?
I wonder why this happens.
Like no one's claimed that... frick, I dunno, Jesus was Japanese... though I do think there was a cult once where some chinese guy claimed to be Jesus' cousin.
Yeah there was some sort of rebellion that ended with millions dead in China spurred on by someone who thought he was related to Jesus
The Tokyo subway saren gas attacks by Om Shinrikyo were planned by a guy who also thought he was Jesus-adjacent
>Like no one's claimed that... frick, I dunno, Jesus was Japanese...
oh, you don't know...
>Jesus Christ travels to Japan to learn the ways of the Samurai
>Probably gets into a fight with Amaterasu or something
Frick, I'd watch that
based, Christ was a true Samurai, I always felt it in my heart.
Mormons actually believe this.
only bit more ridiculous than Jesus coming to the pre-roman britain
That's not something anyone really believes or professes to believe though. People think other people believe that because they're misunderstanding a William Blake poem that asks what if Joseph of Arimathea came to ancient Britain to proselytise. That got set to a famous bit of music.
>Jesus' Brother, Isukiri
>Isukiri, son of Mary
Hrm...
>though I do think there was a cult once where some chinese guy claimed to be Jesus' cousin.
No he claimed he was the younger brother of Jesus. His weird chinese-Christian cult swelled into the biggest civil war rebellion in history and the war killed around 12 million people. The weirdest part about it was when the chinese government begged western outposts to help them quell the rebellion and the europeans agreed. So when the christian chinks tried to approach the british fort expecting fellow christian friends, they got shot instead. Cultists were ordered not to return fire because Hong Xiuquan thought it was all a misunderstanding.
>They also make the same claims of Pictish Britain.
I see we have returned to the 1890s level of thinking about race.
might get a Brak Mak Morn adaptation of it at least
So she has the Pocahontas problem?
Brown*
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Blacked
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Bixnood
What the frick does that even mean? How do you even say it? Its the dumbest shit ever.
This can't be real. She's the fairy god mother?? So first Tinkerbell and now her?!
It's starting to piss me off that people keep posting this
This is Cinemaphile - we know the difference between the Fairy Godmother and the Blue Fairy
Granted Asha looks too much like Pocahontas. But I do like the braids. I picked up a braid fetish from "10". Did anyone ever draw Asha like this?
Asha only has ai porn
What about Magnifico?
Some here and there.
There's a few drawn ones. Magnifico has the most porn.
>carbon copy checkmark-hitting basic slop protagonist for a shitty by-the-numbers mass appeal movie gets shitty carbon copy basic slop porn
not surprising
she wished to be white
Heehee, chamona!
There's a few possibilities I've considered:
>Wish is an alternate universe, this would explain Peter's wish for wanting a flying machine
>Asha changes her appearance whenever she so desires. Cinderella's kingdom is predominately white so it'd be easier for her to blend in
>the canonical telling of Cinderella whitewashed her character
Oh I forgot
>Asha has vitiligo
I think the real idea is simply that this isn't meant to be some actual mega-prequel to old disney stories, its moreso just meta-referencing them in its own isolated world.
They could have solved this by just showing the original Fairy god mother and say Asha is her new apprentice
If you had magic which could change your skin color, no way you'd be black
her wish was to be white
Spaniards got literally raped by muslims for like 1000 years
nafris aren't sub-sarahan blacks, they are meds
it's a reference you idiots. It's not canon.
this, wish is basically just a trash bin of 'remember good disney stuff from before??' references/'easter eggs'
Why are they trying to MCU Disney movies? They’re trying to replace the dwarves and Snow White with diversity hires.
>They’re trying to replace the dwarves ... with diversity hires.
Oh you didn't see it?
>intend to replace Snow White dwarves with diversity hires
>unlikeable israelite/Spanish actress sheds unwanted light on the movie
>so much backlash Disney panics
>quickly change dwarves back to the original and cgi them in
>meanwhile, Wish was going to explain the Diversity hire dwarves
>cannot change them now in Wish because they are too late into production
>Asha is now the Fairy Godmother and the dwarves are multiracial
>except they’re not because they chickened out
Disney now is stating the CGI dwarfs were ALWAYS in the movie and the 7 diversity hires are a different crew of bandits, lead by Jonathan the not-prince.
I think for sure the 7 diversity hires were meant to be Asha's crew from wish but they had to backtrack and damage control after Zegler killed the movie by being unlikable and everyone mocked the 7 diversity hires who are the LA versions of Asha's friends
And it's also ironic that the people who claim to hate the J6 "insurrectionists" made their hero an antifa activist who launches an insurrection against her government because she wants more gibs. The people making these movies are so out of touch
It’s amazing how unimportant everything that happened in 2020 is now. Literally none of those things matter now and everyone is just trying to get that year out of their heads. Just shows you how stunted Jennifer Lee and her writers are.
They wanted it to be their big cultural revolution but it failed and no everyone thinks the mostly peaceful protests are moronic. How many bombs does Jennifer Lee have to make to get fired? Everything she touches turns to shit. Activists like her have completely destroyed the Disney brand and I don't think the ESG loans and tax breaks make up for it.
>mostly peaceful protests are moronic
*fiery but mostly peaceful protest riots I meant to say
Jennifer Lee is not going to get fired and nor will Bob Iger (him getting fired was a publicity stunt) because Disney cannot lose money. They are being funded by the government.
I feel bad for midgets, man. Being in movies was like the only thing they had going for them. The frick they have left, midget tossing?
They could get real jobs like everybody else.
Its really hard to get Dwarven actors anymore because Peter Dinklage has been systematically supressing the act of dwarf type casting in any major film, except conveniently for himself of course.
Why didn't Asha do anything for Cindie until it was time to snag her a man? She didn't even come back to help her out, she only cared enough for her debut at the ball.
If I had magic I'd clone myself then turn my clone onto a woman and then have sex with girl me.
Because... She is!
S.. STOP COMPLAING... YOU... YOU BIGOT INCEL
Because Wish is actually a prequel to the Cinderella TV movie starring Brandy and Whitney Houston
Oh my god anon, you can't just ask fairy godmothers why they're black
>make movie targeting a minority group
>shocked that the majority of audiences isn't interested
Just because it stars a POC doesn't mean it can't appeal to people who're not apart of that specific race.
Are you forgetting Aladdin and Mulan?
The issue is the plot of Wish immediately alienates more than half of your potential audience.
Because of the whole "Why not grant every wish?" thing, not because Asha is dark skin.
There's a difference between starring a POC character, and targeting POC audiences.
Wish was made to appeal and target everyone who's a Disney fan. You just think it's targeting only POCs because the culture war mind broke you.
Well it fails spectacularly at it, the plot is awful and unappealling.
I never said it did a good job at appealing to Disney fans so i agree with you there.
Honestly I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt. If they intended just to target POC women then it's a minor failure, if they intended to appeal to everyone it's a colossal failure.
Fair enough.
>Guys there's no diversity push that's just you being mindbroke!
>>MC's ethnicity choice was completely for diversity and the plot was hastily rewrote to make the female authority figure good, breaking the entire story as a consequence
They don’t do it well though, people like subtle Easter eggs to connect movies not obvious targets. Save obvious targets for Marvel.
it's weird that you can just kind of call this movie a shittier Aladdin/Mulan hybrid
But those movies were good
>If a movie staring POCs is good then it's fine
>If a movie staring POCs is bad then it's woke shit just to fit a culture war narrative
This is factually how it works in people's minds. Once you understand that "woke" really just means "bad media", a lot will start making sense. People don't mind "le woke" if it is in a good quality movie, so going "b-but this GOOD MOVIE also had the same gay shit" won't make the BAD MOVIE better.
>Once you understand that "woke" really just means "bad media", a lot will start making sense
Everything you just said is completely wrong.
Not really. It's why they keep going "but it was always woke" as a deflection when people call something shit "woke".
I don't think you know what any of the words you say mean, or even what point you're trying to make.
Those movies actually took place in their respective countries/cultures
They did not put a white chick protagonist in Mulan, or a white guy protagonist in Aladdin
But when it comes to western medieval historical settings, then they make it look like the demographic of LA or New York, because Disney bows to the globalists who wants to abolish countries, starting with Europe and the US.
Those comparisons don't hold water because this shit wasn't happening when Disney made Mulan and Aladdin. They chose this time period and location as inspiration specifically so they could have it be multicultural. Literally no other reason
Don't worry, though. The powers that be are going to make up for lost time. I hear the new Assassin's Creed will finally take place in Japan and the protagonist is going to be the first black guy in Japan in recorded history rather than a Japanese person
Yasuke was a real historical person.
He will be fictionalized as much as Tom Cruise in Last Samurai obviously and about as accurate.
You really don't understand the objection, do you? It doesn't matter if he is real or not, what matters is that they decided that the MC must be the single Black person they could find in a historical footnote. A game about japan is reduced to a game about blacks.
Honestly it's for the best
If people want to play Asscreed Japan then they can play Ghost of Tsushima instead. It'll 100% be a better experience, guaranteed
>be black man
>brought to Oda Nobunaga
>KURO MAN YOU KIRU IMAGAWA DOGGU
>forced to slaughter random nips
>get angry at fleeing enemies shouting nigero
Yasuke was Oda's personal shitpost, I refuse to believe anything else.
You belief isn't required, sweatie 😉
>so they could have it be multicultural
Do you know what the word multicultural means? Mulan starring all Chinese people and Alladin starring all Arabs are the opposite of "multicultural".
Sorry if "They chose this time period and location" wasn't specific enough to make it clear I was talking about Wish
I know he was real which is why I said he was the first black guy in Japan in recorded history
And yeah, he's going to be made something other than what he really was, but Asscreed isn't exactly historically accurate anyway. Not that it makes up for refusing to have a Japanese protagonist in Japan in favor of a black guy in spite of how people have been asking for Assassin's Creed Japan since the series still had numbers on the end of their titles
>Assassin's Creed will finally take place in Japan and the protagonist is going to be the first black guy in Japan in recorded history rather than a Japanese person
>Black guy shows up in Japan
>Immediately starts killing people
Ha!
But, putting that aside, I guess they're just throwing away all the stealth mechanics? I admit the last one I played was Black Flag, but Yasuke can't really blend into a crowd when he's the only black guy in the country.
it's become a historical RPG-lite MTX grind fest longer than anything about assassins or whatever worthless tripe they keep wrapping these game's premises around
>MTX grind fest
Que?
I hate when games turn to grinding. I liked the older megaman games because you just found stuff and had stuff. Then they added in pointless grinding. Grind money to unlock X's armours. Grind energy to power up Zero's elves. Grind to unlock teleportation spots in ZX.
It never improves a game.
Either Assassin's Creed Greece or Assassin's Creed Viking or both had a grind so fricking nightmarish that they not only sold XP boosters they patched the game to remove XP grinding and banned people for installing mods to bypass the shitty XP system
Honestly if you still play AC you deserve everything you get
>make a singleplayer RPG-ish game with lots of levels and loot and grinding
>prevent people from grinding
ok I know we're going on a Cinemaphile tangent but I gotta say it: I'm really glad Rainbow Six Siege is struggling, and the AC game pipeline is broken, and Beyond Good & Evil 2 is never happening and the stupid pirate game is also never happening. Ubisoft cannot go bankrupt fast enough.
I mistyped, rather there was a way to grind very quickly that I think involved making custom quests to basically spam XP gain
Technically an exploit, but only one that was needed and one that was patched because they balanced the game specifically to make people purchase XP boosters in a fricking SINGLEPLAYER GAME
Again, if anyone is playing AC games and they're not Armored Core, Ace Combat, or Astral Chain they deserve everything they get
It's really sad to see how quickly horse-armour DLC lead to just 'bleed em dry' gameplay design.
A case of the slippery slope fallacy being... well entirely correct.
they keep padding out the story with XP paywalls that requires ~40 hour+ copy paste MMO fillers to get through... all to sell you battle passes to skip that grind
I specifically won’t watch black movies because 1) they’re not made for me 2) I like to see how powerful the black audience or “POCs” are at the box office. I guess they’re not strong enough, huh?
Please stop using the term "POC". It's based on the false dichotomy of white people and everyone else. That's such a ridiculous categorization.
yes the correct term is "BIPOC" to more fairly dichotomize blacks(and token native americans) from everyone else
That and BIPOC are how they create the race division mentality in people
>Trips of truth.
Remember kids, "colored people" is racist. People of color is progressive.
When I realized this I realized how stupid all of their PC language is. Why is colored people racist bigot language but "people of color" is the peak of tolerant acceptance? It's the same words just in different order.
Because shut up.
now that i think about it white is also a color
we are all poc
Muslim Spain fell in 1492, the same year Columbus set foot in America.
Friendly reminder that Disney supports Israel, so let this movie and other Disney stuff fail miserably
Who DOESN'T support Israel for opticts?
Supporting Israel is good
No. it isn't
Yeah it is, and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Israel is a great country and I wish them the best.
Your secret wish is about be raped by terrorists?
raty rat
>Friendly reminder that Disney supports Israel,
So what?
Better than supporting Hamas
How about you support neither and don't cheerlead and sponsor the genocide of innocent civilians and children.
>How about you support neither and don't cheerlead
NTA, but you need to understand that some of us actually want terrorists to lose. I know that might be tough for you to understand.
>We want the terrorists to lose.
Which one?
>Which one?
The ones provably working to undermine america, and not the ones doing so in conspiracy theories. Those ones. An Israeli will walk past you, Hamas will behead you. And that's something people should remember.
>the ones provably working to undermine america
the ones working the hardest at undermining america are the americans themselves
I just want Israel to carpet bomb Gaza with neutron bombs and white phosphorous and end it already. We all know Palestine is not winning this so just get it over with
Like the terrorists who just murdered over 5000 innocent women and children with bombs?
>"""""""""genocide""""""""
No matter how you feel about what's happening, calling it a genocide is moronic. Tired of seeing you tards repeating that without getting called out.
They're locked in what is basically an open air concentration camp in Gaza and get periodically and systematically bombed every few years. It you don't like the word genocide perhaps ethnic cleansing is a term that will suit you better.
they, like the American government, support both sides killing each other to sell them guns and ammo.
war is profitable after all.
You're not allowed to watch cartoons, Muhammad. It's literally forbidden in islam
Pandering only gets you so far, if the story is bad and the characters are bad then it'll still fall flat on its face.
Idk seems forced and cringe. The movie would have been better if it didn’t feel so gay and lame
they made their villain, who they claimed was going to be a true villain like they used to do, more sympathetic than their MC.
>takes it upon himself to make sure nobody gets a wish that's bad for the community
>no wishing your neighbor was dead, his house was on fire, wife cheated on him with you, etc.
>upstart b***h girl shows up and suddenly he's evil because she's young, has a pair of breasts, and a thought in her head
>pair of breasts
barely
>Blackwashing Moors
I hate Americans.
>it’s diverse and multicultural
Two things nobody wants to watch a Disney movie for.
I do.
I love it when Big Daddy Mickey injects a hot, sloppy load of POCs and homosexualities into my gaping ass hole.
They were right all along
MAKE HER LAMS AND MAKE HER GAY
They scrapped him, killing the interest of all those Disney fans who are into romance and shipping
>Even the goat was cuter
Ffs
The goat was better in concept art? Got any pics?
>disney tumblr sexyman
Would've made this movie much better but at the same time I've seen this trope too much in cartoons lately.
He would have been the Jack Frost of this generation and singlehandedly gotten the movie past the billion dollar mark. Jennifer Lee and her hatred of heterosexual romance is killing the brand. It doesn't make a heroine weak to be attracted to a man, someone has to let this dumb b***h Jennifer Lee know that.
tldr on why she hates straights?
She thinks a heroine having a male romantic love interest somehow makes her weak and a bad feminist.
Funny how feminists are no different to idol fans when it comes to pairings. The minute someone they admire is a hetero, they're "used goods" And they have the gall to criticise idol fans.
That's why women like Twilight's author are based. They know what they really want and make content girls actually want to read.
They're both pathetic for different reasons
According to formula she wouldn't actually be attracted to him, they'd just leave that to the audience
Lets be real here, shipgays are autistic and shouldn't be catered to. Just look at what happened to Star Vs.
Star vs only got as bad as it did because it kept doing that flip-flopping romance style that got annoying once it dragged on for too long. Way too many tv shows do that shit, especially if there's multiple love interests for the main characters. For movies its a lot less of an issue since they're usually much more straightfoward/concise.
Also this
>Make her a good guy
>Make her skintone lighter
Gee Disney.
Was she really a good guy?
We were robbed of kino.
What a fricking blunder
This little twink would have at least saved the movie amongst a certain demographic. As it is, there is very little to savage from it no matter how you look at it. Not only does the movie not know what it wants to do, it also doesn't know who it caters to either. Mess.
How different is that demographic with the average Magnifico fan?
God damn that blonde twink would have made the social media bomb, didn't they learn from Bruno that people need a character to fawn over
What in the frick
They had a twink and they decided not to use him? WHY?! DID THEY THINK THEIR LUMA WOULD BE ANOTHER BABY YODA OR SOMETHING?
a crime!!!
>Disney fans who are into romance and shipping
they don't want you hetshits either
How come disney hates romance now? It'd make the story a lot more appealing to women who clearly still love that shit.
Because some radfems are obsessed with the fusion of ideas that heterosexuality is actually abnormal and the default should be homosexuality
This is the slippery slope I was warning about a decade ago
"Straight people have thousands of years of media, what's wrong with a few queer movies? Heteronormativity is a myth!"
Literally a delusion that only exists in some ultra homosexual urban enclaves and a tiny handful of ultra cherry picked tribes and everyone else just begrudgingly tolerates this shit out of basic decency
They should have picked normalising gays and leave it at that. But noooo, they had to go and become THE EXACT THING THAT CONSERVATIVES WARNED ABOUT.
Are the current LGBT fricking moronic or do they have a death wish?
>Are the current LGBT fricking moronic
Yes
Romance isn't popular among the younger generation. Women care about careers, not families. Families don't pay bills, they cause them.
Do you work at Disney?
Elemental legged it out to not be a huge loss, purely because the romance element proved popular.
Little girls like dressing up in beautiful dresses and they like dreaming of a handsome prince.
>Romance isn't popular among the younger generation
just incredible bait
Sexo
I wonder what the pixie duster adult disneytards think of this movie and how they are coping with it's failure.
The public is sick of these adorkable princesses. I hope the next Disney princess is a stoic and shy introvert.
Disney mothers hate the movie, and youngsters are mocking it over tiktok.
lol what a youngsters saying? Disney has lost their core audience with their forced wokeism and support of grooming and trooning out kids. You love to see it.
The music is horrible and the characters are unlikable.
>movie fails on numerous levels and is more of a corporate product than a film
>incels: "haha is must be diversity's fault!"
slow day on pol?
Forced diversity is why it failed. And the woke activist diversity hires with no talent who worked on the movie are the reason it's such a bland corporate product. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
You’re not supposed to call it out because it makes you racist/misogynistic/ a nazi
The forced diversity is definitelynot why it failed, turn everyone white and the problems still exist, more anonymous would probably be jerking off the movie though
The no-talent diversity hires who worked on the film are responsible for that.
He's talking about how wokeism ruined it behind the scenes, as in, hiring incompetent people to work on that movie just to be a more diverse company for example
Yep. Disney animation has fired and purged out all of the talented animators with institutional knowledge. They were replaced with no talent diversity hires who were hired based on their gender identity and skin color and not on merit. That's why Disney animation has been shit for so long. Even if Jennifer Lee gets shit canned, she has filled the company with woke activist diversity hires.
They get what they deserve
Soo he became the magic mirror from Snow White?
They reap what they have sown.
The woketard diversity hires who worked on the film are proud of the fact she's an activist. They want to brainwash all the little kids in to become good little leftist activists and are using the medium of Disney movies to distill their propaganda. Too bad they don't know how to do basic things like write dialogue or tell a good story.
Diversity isnt the problem. Aladdin is an Arabian setting, Mulan was set in China, and Princess and the Frog took place in 1930s New Orleans where it’s common to see Black people. Wish’s problem was not politics but just having a shit story. Hell, for a movie that’s supposed to be inspired by Andalusia, they barely used any music from the region. The only song that had any flamenco was “Welcome to Rosas”
>Aladdin is an Arabian setting, Mulan was set in China
The fact you think “movie set in non white setting where the cast is homogenously not white” is “diverse” shows how politically brain rotted you are
Diversity for Disney ideologues is just anti white.
In no logical way does it make sense for you morons to claim movies where the vast majority of the characters are Arabic, Chinese or black is “diverse”.
The same morons like you praised Black Panther for being the most diverse movie ever because 99% of the casg was black
>but just having a shit story
Which is has because corporate leadership hires based on DEI quotas, not because of merit. So you get a story about dumb c**ts by dumb c**ts.
Somebody post the image where some writer brags about how the protagonist was basically just her 'venting about current events'
Explains alot about why the protagonist is such an selfish b***h
Asha is an activist intern c**t who walks in to a company and turns on the CEO and launches a coup using subterfuge and subversion after he refuses to give her gibs on her first day. The Disney wokes working on this movie see her as a hero, everyone else sees her as a terrible selfish person
She's actually described as an activist!
This is why "woke" stuff tends to not do well
Because the point here wasn't telling a story, it was INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE THERAPY for the people in charge and it keeps fricking happening
Elemental and Turning Red were both instances of therapy for Asians born in North America venting about thier issues on the big screen
>I wrote 'This Wish at a time when lots of things were happening politically and socially and economically
Ah, that time. That ONE time a lot was happening in politics, and society, and the economy. Not a lot was happening in those things before that time, and not a lot is happening in those things anymore since that time, but there was a lot happening in those things... THAT time. Stupid c**t
She means when Trump was sill president, this trash began development 5 years ago
Goddamn, basing certain things around Orange man fricking explains so much.
>Amaya turning good so benevolent woman can replace the trump expy
>Magnifico's narcissism motivation not lining up well with his trauma backstory because Trump expy.
>Magnifico being completely nonthreatening because they wanted him to be a trump expy and make fun of orange man
That means the queen is meant to be the Hillary expy. Hillary losing in 2016 completely mindbroke all of them.
>Hillary and Trump's expies are married to each other
>they very likely also had sex before
based?
Yeah, sounds like it was written in 2020 by the points she gives. 2020 election, George Floyd/BLM protests, covid lockdowns.
They all became emotionally stunted and stuck during this time period.
Funnt how the movie's supposed to cater to the Orange Man Bad mindset, yet this movie failed. The critics are definitely no fans of Trump, yet still they rated it low.
The spotlight is on undermining and killing israelites these days.
>Julia's songs have the sensibility of a classic disney movie, as classic as any of the songs in movies we've made.
LMAO
>I was given a brief: She's just an everyday girl turned activist
>That's all I had to go off of
Imagine letting that be published in your own Making Of book. I wonder if Disney even realized this sort of thing makes them look incompetent.
She ruins the kingdom and makes everyone have depression after realizing their wishes will never come true?
Ignorance is bliss was good for everyone in the kingdom.
Asha was the only one who didn't like it and if she's not happy then no one should be
Don't forget that citizens WILLINGLY came to the kingdom and WILLINGLY gave up their wish, knowing full well that they would live in peace, happiness, and safety.
Stop crying so audibly.
Zootopia was literally about racism and it made a billion dollars. Both Frozen movies were female empowerment movies that took dunks on classic traditional Disney romance stories, and both movies made a billion dollars. The Lion King live-action remake is the highest grossing animated film of all time.
1. Zootopia was first and foremost a movie about cartoon animal people in a fictional city. The "racism" allegory is about as detached from reality as you can get.
2. The first frozen movie was a traditional Disney film in pretty much every way, the romance subversion was quite literally a joke at their own expense that they worked into the plot.
3. Frozen 2 was only as successful as it was thanks to the first film.
4. My guy if you actually think the lion king remake was a good movie that people went to see for its own merits then I can't help you.
>I don’t understand. WISH is set in Muslim Spain it’s diverse and multicultural. The plot shows powerful women overcoming an evil man who controls the wishes of others.
Read this again and tell me what you got wrong. You missed a KEY element there.
>WISH is set in Muslim Spain it’s diverse and multicultural.
Racist Anon then posts a review whose criticisms have nothing to do with the setting or the diversity...
You don't know many muslims, do you?
IIRC the medieval Muslim part of the world WAS pretty diverse and multiracial. To them what your religion was more important than what you look like.
Still getting nominated for Oscar b/c Disney and DEI
Probably has something to do with elemental being a steaming turd. And that's in succession to a long downward spiral their movies have been on for over a decade. It doesn't matter if their next movie is a masterpiece, it will also bomb because of this effect.
The more I think about Wish, the more pissed I get.
This is supposed to be Disney's big 100 year movie. Let that sink in, 100 years of refining the art of animation and filmmaking, and THIS is what they made. Think of all the people at Disney who have worked there in those 100 years, how many have died and will never got to see their work remembered for generations.
There is no fricking do overs for that. We get another 100 year movie from Disney, because none of us will be fricking be alive for the next one. THIS was it.
Was it really fricking worth it Disney? Was Strange World really something that needed to exist? Shouldn't you have been a little more daring and put the extra effort for once in a lifetime Disney princess movie!?
FRICK THIS
Same here. Despite Disney's current state, it's hard to forget everything it was. This film is a travesty.
The thumbnail gave me a chuckle.
The people this would theoretically appeal to don't go outside and don't have disposable income.
Plus, that group now hates Disney for all eternity because of the Israel vs Palestine thing and no amount of grovelling beyond that war actually ending in a ceasfire will ever stop it. In fact, I expect them to be on their hitlist forever judging by how that war's heading.
>The target demo loves it
Millennial disney adults?
Why can't bad movies just be bad movies anymore? Why do you have to make it culture war bullshit
Calling a bad movie good because of extraneous culture war factors has been Disney's defense for a while now.
>we
you don't get to speak for me
Nice try, fed. Take your meds and head leave.
are you stupid
I wonder at what point we wrap back around to realizing that being progressive does not immediately equate with good writing again
>WISH is set in Muslim Spain it’s diverse and multicultural
In a 'Californian way' or at least, if not an exact but genuine direction, that's somewhat a bit resemble close of what was multiculture world in that historical period?
Seriously, I remember in a note of the image of an art book of "Strange World" about how the design of the characters was challenging and diverse, etc... they sounds like if we were in a world of 100 years ago.
Californian way. Asha's friend group is the goddamned Burger King Kids Club, complete with a fat disabled asian chick in Moorish Spain.
Moopish.
>200 million into the trash just to come up with a Disney cinematic universe
should have made a kingdom hearts movie instead
To be honest the pros of his system far outweigh the cons.
Al-Andalus was very ethnically and culturally diverse and for that reason it also had the most advanced science in all of western Europe during the middle ages. Please read a book for once, chuds.
Neither Arabs or Spaniards are black. A lot of people are just going to ask themselves why didn't they just make a Med MC, even if they have nothing against black people. It's a missed chance. I can perfectly imagine Magnifico and his wife as tanned Andalusians, but not Asha.
>Med MC
A medical MC? What?
Mediterranean MC.
Oh. Okay-dokey
The art book says they used a subsaharran African tribe as the inspiration for Asha and her mother for some reason. Her character design does not look like a Moor or have any moorish influence. I don't know why Disney tried to market this movie as being set in Moorish Spain.
Because the point is to erase white identity, white history, etc.
They could have set it in Africa if they were desperate for more nogs on-screen but we all know the real intent.
>I don’t understand
>Disney makes a bad moviestarring white people in the '80s, '90s, or early '00s
>crickets
>Disney makes a bad movie in current year
>HURRRRR, WOKE! WOKE!!!! GO WOKE GO WOKE GO BROKE!!!!
You need a bullet in your skull.
Especially since they were controversies back then as well.
Which ones were those?
>80's
The Black Cauldron, to be fair this was deep in Disney's bad times where they nearly shut down. they only made like 6 animated movies in the 80s
>90's
Doug's 1st movie? Honestly surprised that was theatrical, beyond that not much James and the Giant Peach was great.
>00's
That prostitutes son you responded to can only be referring to Treasure Planet and Atlantis and so he must be killed for blasphemey
Yes,and?
Perhaps if you ever see it, you'll understand. Maybe that's how people comprehend media: by observing it.
>Muslim Spain it’s diverse and multicultural.
>Watch this, Lis. You can actually pinpoint the second when his heart rips in half
LOOK at his fricking face
She demands gibs her first day on the job, then launches a coup against his nation when she doesn't get her way. What a noble activist!
Her hair looks like carpet tassels
I just don't understand how they could write, act, and animate this scene and not realize how sympathetic Magnifico comes across.
Magnifico didn't give her the gibs she deserves, therefore he's evil and Satan, basically worse than bad orangeman!
I think it's because Magnifico (like how Hans in Frozen is confirmed to be) may be partly based on Jennifer Lee's ex, and her bias obfuscates how sympathetic he might become to watchers
Jennifer Lee does not know how to human which is why everything she makes is soulless. Frozen was only a hit because of Let it Go and Elsa's design. I don't think Jennifer Lee has any notable hits to her name besides Frozen.
Asha's my heroine, she destroyed diversity land on a whim. Love her.
Why didn’t he just wish for her to frick off and then grant his owner wish?
the songs sucked
>This is Disney's future. Treated as another sacrificial lamb by the israelites. We will never see improvements in the USA until the israelites and Judaism are KILLED entirely. Sadly it's going to take a lot more suffering and collapse to wake up normies that the israelites are to blame for ruining the United States.
Does this mean Walt Disney was right? Why did his company get targeted by those people?
Satan wants us to hate in our hearts for israelites, so we can be sent to hell.
And Walt was not a Christian, if anything, he was just paying lip service while participating in freemason rituals.
Goddamn this thread is a nightmare. But regardless we need another save yidsn I mean save disney campaign. Encanto was a big win recently, Chipndale seemed to have some cultural impact, but not much in recent history has been big for them. I mean, Frozen 2 and The Lion King remake both made a killing but they were both average to bad compared to their predecessors. Maybe Inside Out 2 will be big but I can't see it being a brand saver
Disney doesn't need saving. Let's go give Garrett Gilchrist more money so he can finish The Recobbled Cut Mark 5.
>Encanto was a big win recently
how so? It financially flopped. The Bruno song was only played on the radio because radio is pay to play and Disney astroturfed it. No one remembers that song anymore, no one talks about the movie, no one wears the merch
I dunno, I based my assessment on what iv heard people talking about/praising in the wild mostly. I've heard a bunch of zoomettes blabbering about encanto, arguing about who was in the right and such
Look agent Smith even if you were right, it's not happening so long as WWII is in recent memory. Also the US government is run by representatives and many of them have dual-citizenship in Israel. So long as the US empire exists, your desire for a genocide will never happen. By making the US a vassal state, Israel is the most powerful nation in human history.
a rare good take in here, all iv seen is shitlibs, 2016 anti-sjw youtube kiddies, tumblr and that glowfriend. homies need to get woke to the ww2 founding myth problem
GlowBlack folk and the government establishment must be angry that the public completely rejects their woke subversive propaganda bullshit movies no matter how hard they force it on us
consumers are ancillary. They hardly matter. These movies are made for investors, not audiences.
why would the investors want to watch the movie itself? they want to watch us cut off our sons dicks and put them in dresses.
I just don't get Disney sometimes. They desperately want to sell shit, but somehow they can't tardwrangle their creatives enough to make even the most basic crowd-pleasing shit. They make all this simple stuff like princess movies and marvel movies and star wars all look so fricking difficult to pull off. It's a miracle of corporate and creative incompetence.
Doesn't help that every song aside from brunos is extremely forgettable if not outright annoying to listen to.
I hated the strong sister's song, but I recall hearing that it was really popular.
>WISH is set in Muslim Spain
no, it was based on Muslim Spain. it had zero Islamic elements. Gosh what a cop out, the appel of Al andalus is it was an ISLAMIC kingdom in Europe, not the fact it was founded North Africans, I mean if Disney wanted they could have made a film about based on Carthage then cause they also ruled Spain and where of partial north African mixture. It's like making a Byzantium movie but without the Orthodox Christianity.
Except shouldn't israelites be more keen on actually making money? Just stuff all the worthless nepotism hires somewhere that they can't do any harm while the business chugs onward. This is basic stuff, the israelites should know how to do this.
Well, as far as the typical /misc/ logic goes:
they already control the money via the fed, and is just trying to turn US+euro into a diversity dystopia where they will control the mutt masses and their only threat was always white Christian ppls, yadda yadda
Obviously none of it makes sense, but conspiracies are far more relatable and exciting than common human folly.
It shocks me yet it's also fitting that Disney chose such a generic concept for a film that was supposed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the movie, like no even brought up a Mickey Mouse movie? They don't make films about him anymore despite being the mascot of the company.
Hell, even Barbie somehow felt more like a classic Disney movie than Wish
Ashman and Menken as a pair really couldn't be topped when it came to the classic disney songs, but seems like disney wanted to move away from that style of song to go for more 'modern' shit that could potentially still get radio play and not sound so theatrical.
Honestly frick Lin Manuel Miranda, some of his work is okay but his lyrical style just got SO overhyped and its ruined a bunch of other musical media because of his influence. Not every song has to be rap singing.
It's going to be funny when this makes $500 million in theaters and ends up profitable, like Elemental did.
>Elemental
For how long did they had to keep it in theaters, and for what cost?
Elemental avoided being a bomb, it's not a huge success.
And this is even worse
Just like Marvels, right? Oh wait.
Elemental had the advantage of being able to make a opening weekend figure higher than the money used to made it
Elemental had S.Korea propping it up
Elemental is not profitable. I'm not attacking the movie, which I thought was moderately good, and there's no denying it has legs. But Disney doesn't actually like movies that make its money over a long period, rather than in the first month.
People tend to say that the theater and the studio split the ticket sales 50/50. But that's not true through the life of the movie rental, it's just the average. Disney negotiates a higher percentage take during a movie's first few weeks, around 60 to 65%. That number goes down and begin to favor the theater as time goes on. So a movie like Elemental and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 end up earning more for theaters than the studio.
On top of that, the majority of Elemental's take comes from overseas, which is essentially another 10% deduction for the cost of foreign distribution. 10% of the money they earned in SKorea stayed in SKorea.
Add all that up plus marketing, and Elemental has not broken even. Merch sales are going to determine the ultimate success or failure of that property.
Ok but why does Magnifico look so fricking hot?
for vain evil characters they're generally either very pretty or very ugly,
Why are people ITT talking about israelites
literally where did this come from
What does ITT nean, "in this thread"?
newbie
Also newbie
Ok and? Is this supposed to insult me or something?
So it's basically become a money machine rather than a passion machine?
> Disney Renaissance under Eisner was a fluke
I wouldn't necessarily call it a fluke, even if disney was always money grubbing, during that time they actually had a lot of talented and passionate people doing the real production work, and when those movies became mega hits the higher ups were more than happy to bankroll those same types of movies until the important creators left/died and the quality started dipping.
>And I want international bullies like the United States to finally get their karma and collapse after the israelites are finished destroying your country and leaving it nice and weak.
Eat your meds, bro. Your family's worried about you.
what did they mean by this
Some morons thing you can't be critical or even voice an opinion on media if the main character isn't the same race as you.
Where is that article from?
Dude, that's pretty racist towards white people, cancel it.
I mean, imagine if instead of white, it said black lol
I can't find this. What website is this article from?
Tell me the name of that shitty website that posted that. Otherwise, I'd think you're showing a fake article.
That's gotta be fake, come on.
The grammar is terrible, even by shitty clickbait standards.
>black people says it is a bad movie
>gay people says it is a bad movie
Your next move. BLHUD (aka black Chud)
How come all the wishes were good wishes
Why couldn't Magnifico have shown a really bad wish like a woman wishing to steal someone else's baby and saying "yeah there's no way I can grant that wish"
Because that would have shown he had a good point in not granting every wish
It's incredible how they missed this when writing. Did they think no one would question it? The reviews are full of people doing that and saying how the villain wasn't that terrible until the sceleratus ex machina
Even Aladdin established rules and that was an all powerful genie dealing with one wisher
did the disabled asian friend feel kind of in your face with the diversity
it was like when the voice actress showed up Disney went "YES DOUBLE DIVERSITY"
Nonwhites get crippled, too.
Notice how when it comes to disabled representation, Disney has characters missing limbs or using wheelchairs, but nobody has the balls to have seriously mentally disabled characters. Everybody hates moronic people.
Damn.
Walt did it in the first Disney animated movie with Dopey
That was back when you could laugh at them.
Madeleine is klutzy and stupid, but not moronic.
Damn straight
I recall the straight to DVD Notre Dame 2 having the opposite of Quasimodo. A mentally moronic pretty girl.
Disney needs to add mental illness disability representation. Schzophrenic disney character when?
Elsa
She even starts hearing voices in her head in Frozen 2
>WISH is set in Muslim Spain
Is it really?
That's a setting I've found interesting for a long time. I *wish* it was the setting of a better Disney film.
USA has received orders from Israel: Muslims bad!
I hope both sides lose.
