Yes. Her "better than you" act and no obvious weaknesses/character flaws would qualify. It wasn't handled as badly as it could've been, but there's no denying it.
I’m fine with Peach being a girlboss but they should have gotten a better actress to play her if they intended for her to have a more active role.
Ayylmao has no range so even when Peach is in an action scene she just sounds like she’s taking a stroll in the park, worst performance next to Kranky Kong.

Mario is pro-family and family-oriented, where the whole family eats together and, despite their problems, hold no grudge, and Mario's father proudly supports him when he returns to the city
The Mushroom Kingdom is a monarchy and against democracy, where the princess castle can be seen throughout the entire kingdom (catholic urbanization), and is also against fiat currency, where toads use gold coins instead of paper currency. It's against modern art, the princess castle resembles gothic cathedrals and medieval castles, while Bowser's ship is pure Soviet architecture. It is against globalism because there are different kingdoms with different characteristics and cultures. And Mario is against all this global warming bullshit and "anti-car" narrative, going to war driving cars

It is true that Peach is a girlboss, but to define an entire movie based on this flaw is to ignore all the positive aspects of the movie and to equate problems of different magnitudes. Peach's greatest quality remains her beauty and diplomacy, and Mario is still the one who saves everything and defeats Bowser. It would be like to call the Lord of the Rings as 'woke' because of its ending. It's funny to see Cinemaphile hating mario for having girlboss peach and at the same time shilling fricking the barbie, which is a 100% feminist movie
You can make a drinking game out of how many times Peach smirks & fist pumps.
Peach doesn't do anything in the movie, except be Bowser's object of affection AND be stronger than everyone but still inexplicably standing by and letting Mario do everything for her. It's really fricking dumb, it wouldn't have taken much to change her role into something non-moronic either. Just make her NOT good at fighting, and all the dumb shit instantly goes away (now, it's no longer weird that e.g., Mario fights Kong even though Peach is stronger, or that Peach just stands around doing nothing at parts where she should be fighting, or that Mario takes the star to defeat Bowser instead of her, etc.).
It unambiguously made the movie worse.
You can be sure the same ZEIGEIST that made Peach into a 'girlboss' is also responsible for the shit arc (i.e., no fricking arc; you could've given Mario the star in the first scene of the movie and the outcome would've been the same,) and the horrible ending (Mario starts as a shit plumber, Mario ends as a shit plumber; nobody learned anything or improved in any way, people just like Mario more now because he used the star to beat Bowser, which literally anyone could've done at literally any point in the movie if it were placed in front of them instead, so this is not a victory for Mario, it's a really heavily forced "happy ending" that followed from no actions the characters took).
It's still an entertaining movie, but in spite of how genuinely shit the story is. It's entertaining because each individual scene has great action and animation. You could clip out any, like, 5 minute segment of the movie, and by itself it will be very entertaining. The whole movie is just a bunch of those strung together into a 2 hour runtime or however long it was.

She has been Girl boss since Super Mario 2. Also a badass since SMB Melee. Literally a better character then mario in every game they are both playable. Super Mario RPG complete badass especially when doing the move learning glitches. Peach haters don't play video games just qq about social and political bullshit. Which needs to stay out of gaming.

Only things I didn't like was the over use of licensed music instead of just making new or remixed scores of all the Mario music from the games. Bad writing and bad voice actors for D.K. and Cranky. Bad world design for Kong island igmoring source material. Idk if it was Universal and Nintendo not wanting to work a deal with RARE or what but it kind of ruins a kong spinoff for fans of Donkey Kong. Other then that I have no other gripes. As an animated video game film targeted at children it was pretty good and its success has green lit other franchises that might have never gotten a movie.
All of Mario & Luigi dialogue is forced & saccharine.
