I finished this show and I have some questions for you guys. First of all why the obsession with Vexus? She's not that great. There are tons of queen characters who are better. And I know you guys claim she's hot but she isn't. And her voice is very unattractive. Number 2, does anyone know why Vexus stole the golden chips? And number three what changes did Vega mean when she said there would be a ton of them. Cluster Prime was perfect, the only problem was that they didn't have powers but that was already fixed. Why would Vega need to change anything? Maybe she's going to be merciful on whatever humans are on cluster prime? Speaking of which is there even a reason why she doesn't seem to mind humans? Anyway, pretty good show. I like Tuck. And Jenny is of course the cutest ever. Also, anyone else notice that this is technically a lore show? My guess is the reason it's never called one is because it actually does it right and is interesting unlike the meme lore shows.

Vexus is the most wasted potential when it comes to characters in the show
At least with Jenny they knew what they wanted to do (but still kinda failed at presenting it because... Nick...)

What about Brad? He felt very nothing-y. Idk the word for it, but even though he was in every episode it still feels like I don't know him because there's nothing to know. His whole thing where he wants to be a hero like Jenny just comes out of nowhere in season 2 in the first episode and hardly ever shows up again.

i guess i feel alright about brad since hes perfectly reserved as just the mostly same-minded friend character for jenny

the only other thing i can say about him is that im both really endeared and really annoyed by his on-off buttholeishness

also i can imagine the vexus obsession cause of porn-addicted people and the relationship between her and jenny, and the fact that shes the closest the show has to a main antagonist

I don't think Vexus is a bad antagonist. I just think she should have stayed how she was.

what do you mean exactly? a ruler of an empire?

cause in that case i cant 100% say i agree since not much changed presentation wise before and after the cluster prime saga

              Anonymous

Well what I mean is she should have still cared about other robots like their mother, and she should have still wanted to enslave humanity. Basically after she got exiled she stopped caring about anything at all other than killing Jenny. And yeah she probably should have stayed the ruler. Or they should have saved the cluster prime episode for later in the series.

oh yeah absolutely, it feels really weird that they had this huge event then afterwards its just business as usual like the said huge event didnt happen

and true about everything else, though i think she should have just gone further and lower due to losing everything and sacrificing what she has left for the sake of revenge
(i will say im like a little over halfway in my own watching of the series so i cant remember/dont know if she does or doesnt go further)

Well I don't mind the idea of going back to business as usual after big events, it's just that I don't think it is business as usual now that Vexus is different. I know you don't think she is that different but I do. But, even though I don't normally dislike going back to business as usual, like I said, this is actually an exception so I do agree with you on this. Because I don't think Jenny should have gone back to earth.

really i just think she wasnt that different cause she still had pretty powerful cluster stuff and a giant army still at her command despite being usurped and presumably having this stuff taken away

i get smitus, crackus and the little guys still stuck with her but just thinking its kinda too normal that she keeps everything really powerful, brand new motivations and plans aside

(especially since alot of these post cluster prime episodes still have her and her drones trying to take over the world and enslave humans, just now trying to get rid of jenny first and foremost)

                >Having this stuff taken away
No the drone army was hers. It was a hivemind and she was the head. It was only called the cluster army because she was queen. If she wasn't ever queen it probably would have always just been called Vexus's army.
                >they still try to enslave humanity post cluster
I don't remember that. but idk I am kind of confused about the timeline anyway because they were out of order when I watched them.

oh huh, didnt figure that first thing

and she uses events and chances like the robot riot or the jenny dolls to get rid of jenny first, destroy and enslave humanity second

I have a criticism though. Jenny's decision in the Cluster Prime episode was stupid. It seems like the show wants us to think of her more as a hero than as a teenage girl but that's clearly not the case. She's no Peter Parker, eventually her strength will give out. Things will get too tough for her at some point and she will give up. That's what her character seems like to me. I know the reason why she decided to go back to Earth is so that they could continue the show without having to stop doing action shit. Still gay. And also she seemed out of character at the very beginning of the episode but that might have something to do with me watching it last because for some reason it was listed as the fourteenth episode of season 3. I know that's not correct. That was still the best episode though. Cluster Prime might be the coolest planet in cartoons.

I have to say I despise Sheldon so much.
    >Breaks into Jenny's house and steals her blueprints from her mom, then immediately forgets Jenny and falls for another robot girl as soon as he meets her and lets her take the blueprints, which could have gotten Jenny killed, then when jenny starts beating him up he's all "women, amirite?" even though he knew for a damn fact that she would beat him up because of her righteous anger subroutines or whatever.
    >Tries to purchase Jenny from her mother with money.
    >Tries to make Jenny racist against her own kind by putting on roboface and acting like a douchebro.
Hate the guy. He's the most simp character in cartoons. He doesn't even see Jenny as a person, he just wants his dick sucked, but he still sleeps in a dog bed at her feet in the school lunchroom. Can you imagine anything more simpish than that?

A show having a over arching narrative in an episodic format does not make it a lore show. A lore show teases at the lore every chance it gets rather than trying to make the show work with the cards it has.

I thought it was a lore show because it has lore. And this show doesn't have an "overly arking narrative" or whatever the hell you just said. Did you even watch it?

is there really much genuine lore in this show

all i can think of in terms of being properly defined as lore is the nora wakeman stuff with her making armagedroid and her having a history with vexus, otherwise its way more focused on building worlds, characters and dynamics than anything

          Anonymous

          >building worlds
I was told that was what lore was. That and like bakground stuff like the other XJs and aliens and shit. There's alot of different things they just don't make a big deal out of it and expect the audience to coom their pants like certain modern "shows" do.

i always took as being explicitly backstory stuff, anything more in the moment that wasnt in the service of building up what we currently have was more defined as worldbuilding

the only other thing i really think i can count as lore is the XJs yeah

It's been a while since I properly watched it, I only remember this show for its stellar art style. The plots themselves were really boring.

You should watch it again. Only a few of the episodes have boring plots, and they're not even boring episodes because they still have Jenny and other people we like.

    >does anyone know why Vexus stole the golden chips?
It kept her citizens depowered, and thus more subservient and unable to overthrow her. Once they got they got the chips back and learned the truth, she was driven off

      Anonymous

      >thus more subservient.
Does she even care about that? Smytus disobeyed her in the very same episode and she never even brought it up. Everyone seemed to be quite free on Cluster Prime as well. They would have zero reason to ever even think about overthrowing her if she didn't steal their powers. So why did she do it?

    >Cluster are introduced to us as a robot utopia where humans are slaves
    >they explicitly want to recruit Jenny by any means necessary

Yet in the special, the planet has no humans and its citizens are taught to hate Jenny. Makes no sense.
Honestly, the whole special is pretty poorly written for concluding what was basically the main villain plotline of the show. Vexus hardly does anything, and her relationship with Vega isn't explored in the slightest.

      >no humans
Not true we just never see them dummy
      >want to recruit Jenny
They wanted to, past tense. Now they only want her for her body. They're trying to erase her mind and personality and turn her into just another cluster army drone, just way stronger because she's Jenny. Makes perfect sense if you pay attention.
      >poorly written
It is not, shit was amasing and you're a contrarian.
      >her relationship with vega is never explored
It was a little tiny bit but they were clearly saving more for later.

        >Not true we just never see them dummy
Bullshit, the way the first cluster bot was announcing them, han slaves were a celebrated part of the society. Jenny would have absolutely seennone durong her hero work. She didn't. They were nowhere to he seen in the special.

        >They wanted to, past tense.
Even then, it would still be pretty recently that they were actively trying to recruit her. Humans dont age through the show, so it's not like this was years ago.
Now Cluster society is so adapted to life without the golden chips that we know its been several years since those went away, and yet evil XJ9 is the official reason for this. Doesn't make any sense, they shouldn't want their populace to hate their new recruit.

Also it wasn't Cluster Prime that wanted to recruit Jenny, it was the cluster army specifically, aka Vexus's goons.
