I unironically liked some parts of Super more than Z. It actually brought back more humor this time around and felt like DB a little bit. DB will forever be the superior series though.
Universe Survival is better than the worst parts of Z, which doesn't sound like high praise but it really stresses that dragon ball quality should be focused on the arc, not on the series
The Tournament of Power delivered quality where it counted, but a lot of it was padded out bullshit with typical low quality DBS storyboarding and off-model animation

early DB is some of the comfiest anime there is. DBZ might be epic and badass and whatever but it doesn't feel nearly as special most of the time.

I grew up in the golden age of Toonami. We literally had a DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruroni Kenshin back-to-back block at some point.
Even then I remember DBZ being the weakest of the 3 shows, and tbh I've always preferred Dragon Ball over DBZ.
