I get the impression that I should just skip DS2 and start playing DS3 after completing this.

>skip the best game
DS2 is kino moron
yes
DaS3 is marginally less terrible, if you're that worried about wasting your time call it a day there and don't look back. BB, Sekiro and ER are dogshit too.
Bloodborne, Sekiro & ER are amazing games what are you talking about it?
DS2 is okay, just not as good as the other 2 games
Bloodborne > Dark Souls Remaster Demon's Souls > Demake
DS2 3 and ER were shit
but you should not complete this; you should pirate the prepare to die edition and use dsfix to get 60fps and remove dof. then you skip ds2/3 and get rpcs3 and play the original demons souls in 60 fps. then you play sekiro and elden ring. bloodborne if you have a ps4.
nah you should definitely play DS2. It's the worst game in the series, but it's by no means a bad game
you should still play ds2, form your own opinion about it
I nnever actually played original dark souls, I played ds2 and ds3 but never the first installation
Did I wander on to Cinemaphile by mistake?
uhh oops my b
shut up chillin
1 week until he wins genesis
>discussing video games on Cinemaphile
yeah no, I'd rather just take the 3 day ban on Cinemaphile
I enjoyed d2 more than ER and bloodborne. The hate for ds2 is almost entirely caused by mass hysteria, you go in expecting it to be bad and then you just look for reasons to hate on it, ruining your experience. None of the soulsborne games are bad games, give it a try and form your own opinion
then you don't know what makes these games good at all
Seethe, sheep
yes, just skip to DS3
If you have too much time and dont mind spending the money, then sure give DS2 a try, but ultimately it is not worth it.
DS2 is alright, just a bit janky
you cant really trust peoples opinions about it because most of them are still seething that fromsoft took away their overpowered dodge roll and made you invest soul levels to get it back
Don't forget they dropped all pretense or "but fair" and the enemies lock onto you.
I think it depends on what you appreciate DaS for. If you are one of those delusional idiots that thinks From makes masterpieces because they appeal to your (unadmitted casual) sensibilities when it comes to challenge, then you will probably hate it because it will break your larp and you will realize how lazy they are and how their success is largely undeserved. If you just happen to enjoy the type of games they make then I think you will like it and dont make them your personality then I think you will like it.
Be careful, there are vehement ds2 defenders on this website. It's okay, the combat changes a lot once you get to 3, it's more like bloodborne and elden ring. If you want more slow methodical combat like ds1 then 2 is alright
go play a good game instead
play ds2, you might be one of the wierd ones that likes it
git gud
I genuinely think every FromSoft Souls-like is worth playing to some extent. But DaS2 probably shits the bed hardest in long-term replayability; not as bad as Sekiro, but still pretty frickin bad.
That said, I've played DaS2 for like 500 hours because every area except The Gutter and Dragon Aerie is pretty good.
Ds2 is worth playing. Every dark souls game has its issues and imo dark souls 2 is unfairly treated. I enjoyed it. It has interesting zones and enemies.
Yes you should skip DS2... for now. It's not a bad game, just bad by comparison. Play it if you like the other souls games and you really want something more to scratch that souls itch.
DS2 is the best one though
>I get the impression that I should just skip DS2 and start playing DS3 after completing this.
That impression is correct.
DS2 feels like a souls-like game made by a different studio. Which it basically is.
I say play it just to play it. No harm in skipping but it's not too terrible.
Aside from the wonky combat in DS2, it is a pretty solid game.
Also, the hub music (Majula) gives goosebumbps
Elden ring>dark souls 1>bloodborne>Dark souls 3>sekiro>Dark souls 2>demons souls
Elden ring is simply the best. People can be contraction all they want but it really was a wonderful experience to play that game. It was a really great world they created even if it was too big. Open world bloat did exist in ER but it was still so good that it overcomes the flaws. Dark souls is an amazing game but it’s second half is not very good. The rest are all solid games but I have preferences. But demons souls I do not like. It’s the only one I don’t like. The levels are boring. And there are barely any of them. The length of the game is inflated because you will be replaying levels until you can finish it.
When does Elden Ring get good? I'd played Bloodborne DS2 and 3 and never finished them, but Bloodborne I actually liked quite a bit but DS2 and 3 were just boring to me.
I got ER because I thought it would be like Skyrim combined with DS, but it's just open world DS so far. I'm about 30 hours in and I think level 29.
Does it get better or is it just more of the same?
>I never finished those games
>What about this game that is also the same game but a lot longer
Honestly save yourself some grief and drop it now, it's also pretty different from Skyrim. Similar to Skyrim would be something like Witcher 3 for instance.
with soulsborne games, at least in my opinion, its important to take breaks sometimes so that you dont burn out or just ragequit forever. Tbh the worst and also the best parts are at the very end of the game so it really depends how stubborn you want to be about finishing the game.
Ya it’s more of the same.
Bloodborne=sekiro>DeS>DS1>DS3>ER>DS2
I don't hate any of them btw DS2 is just the one i like the least
Play DS1, then Bloodborne and Elden Ring.
Fromsoft has never made a bad game.
average DS2 slop enjoyer
a bloodborne movie would be kino
