I haven't seen any Dune movie yet. Should I start with Lynch's version or DUNC?

DUNC is closer to the source material
Not in spirit.
ehhhh kind of but also dunc ruins literally every beloved character so yeah there's that
DUNC is nowhere near the source material. They wear rubber scraps for a suit for god's sake. It can't even hold water like it's supposed to. And the fricking Harkonnens are just bald white dudes who are only 'le evil because they are' instead of anything close to their source descriptions.
>literal space muslim jihadis taking orders from a female Black person offworlder
>It's ok to use lasers against enemies known to have shields now.
That's not a selling point. That's cope.
DUNC was terrible.
Dune sucks
The books suck
The movies suck more
Frick Dune
but dune kicks ass, is it possible ur just a gay?
The new movie sucks and breaks the lore in several places. Lynch dune is a bad adaption but at least it's memorable and interesting.
Read the books instead or get audiobooks
honestly, just read it. its a cornerstone of modern scifi for good reason
Get ready for crap OP. Pretentious crap.
Arrakis hillibillies
Even the book isn't that good. The concept is interesting but the characters are all plot devices. That's why despite being hailed as a "classic" there is no iconic character that people recognize from it.
There's Dunecat
Touché
Was that the one who got milked?
There's a hate cult for DUNC on this board so probably best not to get your opinions of that movie from here. It's a solid movie with few glaring issues, though it does gloss over the setting lore more than the lynch version sk having some familiarity with the terminology and history would be a benefit going in. It changes a few things but nothing as egregious as lynches ending, and it has a really unique soundtrack and some of the designs are pretty cool, though a lot of people found its austere utilitarian architecture and set design a sticking point in comparison with the lavish sets of lynches interpretation. It is also only the first half of the first book, while the lynch version attempts to handle the entire book in a single film
They also unnecessarily lavish praise on the lynch version which is a campy adaptation that completely 180s the ending, but people talk it up for its practical sets and European costuming which are serviceable. It's full of hammy acting, and the final act is a mess that straight up undermines the entire message of the source material
So if you want camp that completely misses the point of the book, watch lynches version. If you want a more severe and closer adaptation, watch DUNC
have you read the books?
if yes, watch the lynch one
if not, watch DUNC
>have you read the books?
>if yes, watch the lynch one
>if not, watch the lynch one anyway, then read the books
You should start with the Dune redub from 2008
Dune and dusted
Mini series isn't actually that bad. Closest to the book.
Lynch Dune is schlock kino.
DUNC is utter trash.
>LE SPICE IS..... LE WEEED!!!!!!
No wonder 60s hippies loved these shitty books
room temperature IQ
consider watching the SyFy version
Read the book. Don't ruin it watching either of those terrible movies.
Why don't you try reading the fricking book?
