I'll shamelessly admit I stole this picture from reddit.
>Hong Kong MS dev team taking cues from the Oldsmobile Army in MS production
>RGM-86RN going toe-to-toe with a Heavygun
Always enjoyed when side stories like this and MSVR does upgrading stuff like this with old gen tech. It makes more sense than creating completely new designs.
None of those planes go toe-to-toe with the F22
>toe-to-toe with the F22
Raptor is the best, don't let that distract you from how shitty the F35 Lightening is.
god i love flight highschool
yet we're procuring more F-15s and flat out can't make F-22s anymore
It’s clashing with a heavygun, there’s another that has stark jegan parts. To think that there’s a chance that this GM III was once one of the original jaburo gm’s. It’s unlikely but there were a small amount of GM III’s that were converted from GM II’s that were once original Gm’s.
I like to imagine that the FA variant is an old RGM-79 that flew along the original gay during its experimental fieldings back in the OYW.
One of my ideas for a Gundam story was a GM Compilation that followed a single GM unit through it's entire lifespan through various factions and pilots. It would go
>Federation from Jaburo to A Baoa Qu, MSG
>Naval guard, Stardust
>Titans pilot, Zeta
>Commandeered by AEUG, Zeta
>Earthside against Neo Zeon, ZZ
>Axis Shock, CCA
>Torrington, Unicorn
>Museum, F91
Maybe I'd throw in Victory and G Reco too at the end. But the main point is that I always found it interesting that a single piece of equipment could have so much history behind it, even if its history is basically budget cuts
for a single gm to survive all these conflicts would need some doing, or rarely being near the action
Would this GM be a GM Kai or just a stock 79 model?
I'm not sure the C-type kai models were directly able to be overhauled into the standard GM II, although AOZ did have a GM Kai that they modified to meet the same specs as the GM II for testing purposes.
Stock 79 model. A C type wouldn't be in use during Jaburo, or even Solomon iirc
Yeah it would take some plot armor but I don't think it's that unbelievable, especially if you keep it a little ways away from main characters. Plus, just because the GM survives doesn't mean the pilot necessarily does. A stray piece of shrapnel from a ballistic round is easy to repair but also easy to pierce the wienerpit on an unlucky shot
Yeah there are a lot of spots you could place it in. Maybe it could be a pirate unit like that fake Gundam Team until it's captured and mothballed in the museum
you could conceivably have it be active for longer than that, serving as a mercenary or in some other group during the warring space states. Largely outdated by that point, but you'll take what you can get you know.
Gundam Ace is in English now? Wtf
No, it's Zeonic's work.

That shithead is still around? Guess no one else is gonna translate this stuff then. I figured we'd get official stuff since Hobby Japan is finally giving us English gunpla books.
>I figured we'd get official stuff since Hobby Japan is finally giving us English gunpla books.
hahahahah
no 🙁
dislike the round bits of armour on the joints and not the biggest fan of those pointy thrusters, but otherwise he's a cool dude
oh he's around during the heavygun era of grunts? can kinda forgive the round bits then
The more bullshit you slap onto a GM the worse it will look. Always.
All you need is a G-Defenser on a GM III
Super GMs all the way!
Did FA gundam had Beam saber on Twin barreled rifle?
No? According to the Master Archive Full Armor Gundam databook, the original FA-78-1 could have a pair of optional beam sabres on a holder at the rear waist armor as per the attached page scan, but I haven't seen anything about the twin barrel beam gun having a beam sabre.
The idea of some shady small conflict using jimmy rigged various UC suits in the earlier part of the late UC sounds neat.
jesus
>Gen 1.5 MS
that's pretty neat, like all those generation X.5 tanks and jets we see in thirdie militaries. Old chassis and airframes but with the next generation's guns, electronics, avionics etc
Total Neanderthal here about military vehicles and hardware. But is it cheaper to retroactively upgrade older tanks and jets with newer electronics and weapons than it is to completely make something new?
>is it cheaper to retroactively upgrade older tanks and jets with newer electronics and weapons than it is to completely make something new?
It is cheaper, but overall large scale long-term cost-efficiency is another question, at some threshold updates aren't favourable
What is the point of Gustav Karl's when they get dunked on by anything in everything they are in that isn't hathaway's flash?
F90 FF manga ended up being a disappointment, all the Gustavs and heavy guns get curved stomped by souped up 3 gm III made it even bigger disappointment.
Lot of factors such as the time, resources and whether or not the frame can fit all the new features your trying to incorporate without burdening it.
Is the suit in the back meant to be an RX-103?
Is that photo a fan design?
yes, there is no official RGM-98. Seems to be just a slimmed down Gustav Karl
Quick image search since i forgot where i saw it and it was from some fan redesigns of the karl to look more like the original novel version.

I like it, especially if it can shed that equipment, be it an actual system or simply that due to the way it's attached it will fall off with enough damage.
Me on the right the first day of winter.
