    A. You're a troony
    B. You're tired of Chappelle saying "white people bad" for the 100th time

Because Dave Chappelle doesn't do comedy for most of his shows now. He has gone to that type of comedy where it's more on the side of musings on society, personal opinions, and anecdotal takes on the way things are.

Chappelle is most funny when he is commenting on race issues because it's what he knows, he is a lot less funny when he is commenting on LGBT issues because he is ignorant and doesn't really understand the nuances like he thinks he does. He's right with some of what he says, but it's just not funny.

TL;DR: He transitioned from 'I'll make it funny" to 'It's funny because I said it'

      >'I'll make it funny" to 'It's funny because I said it'
There is no difference, either way you stop crafting the joke at whatever point you say the joke is the funniest, but if you want to say he has gotten lazy with time and doesn't spend as much time on craftsmanship anymore, that is an entirely different argument.

        >There is no difference
        There is a massive difference
One is actually making and creating a joke and the other is not saying a joke just making a statement hoping people laugh at it because you've been funny in the past

          >a statement hoping people laugh at
          That is called a joke.

          >because you've been funny in the past
It is because he has said a lot of statements and gotten a lot of reactions which he has learned a lot from, so he doesn't think he has to spend as much time dissecting each statement to assess whether people will generally laugh at it because he has decades of experience judging statements based on how much laughter they will generally generate. Just like how an experienced carpenter doesn't have to spend as much time to get a perfect cut compared to a beginner.

OP here. I think you’re on the money. He keeps confusing personal opinions for jokes. I don’t mind him clowning LGBTs or whatever, but there still need to be a punchline somewhere.

Imagine thinking there’s anything to know about LGBT people other than they were molested as children and are now deviants. It’s not fricking rocket science. If you’re attracted to the sex you were born as you are broken in a fundamental way.

I never really watched much Chappelle cos I’m not American, I watched this when it came on Netflix to see what all the fuss was about. All I got was a guy talking about how great he is for an hour. I don’t care how good his previous shit may have been, I wanted to watch some comedy and it was fricking godawful at that. Chapelle constantly blowing smoke up his own ass didn’t endear me to him at. I’ve heard a lot of people call this guy the greatest comedian ever and I’m wondering if it’s just one of those normie things where someone says it and they all just go along with it.

He's right though, Chapelle's resting on his laurels at this point. It's more old man rambling with a few lame jokes he'd have got booed off stage for making if he was an open micer scattered in-between

Oh I agree. I just find it funny mr cheeto puff fingers here is being all judgy mcjudger when his largest achievement in life is probably getting some trophy in a virtual game. The dude did standup for 20+ years. I think he's earned the right to take it easy.

It's being offensive to be offensive, there's nothing funny about it or does it really deserve any respect. Yes, he's been that way in the past but he had a sense of humor about it. It shouldn't be a question to why his fan base is now full of MAGA morons.
