I mean, it was literally all his fault. They found Ripley, no one believed her, he sends a message to the colony telling them to go look at grid coordinate, but not warning them about anything they might find. He was hoping to get a sweet deal on any profits.
I liked that he hadn't done it on purpose. He was hoping they'd find the ship, send word back, Ripley would be vindicated, they'd send a team to research the alien ship and eggs, he'd get a fat bonus. Colony continues like normal. Everyone's happy.
Even Ripley doesn't think he's all bad nor deserves to have a chestburster kill him.
He said some stuff about skipping safety protocols because that would eat into profits. I think it was a rights thing; if he got other departments or organizations involved then the windfall from the find might get eaten up by legal/corporate bullshit.
True, I think he panicked hard when she said she was going to ensure they pinned it all on him and nailed him to the wall. Then felt that his life would be over otherwise, but that dumb plan may be a way out.
It's the most popular movie of the entire series and the only reason Alien has lasted so long with so many books, games, comics building off of it. But you knew that already, contrarian.
Remember Burke did nothing wrong. He was total within company procedures to send crews out to the grid square to investigate, after all Ripley's story was way too fantastical to believe and had not been verified and bringing security/marines in at that point could have made him look stupid.
He was also thinking about the colonists who would have got discovery bonuses if anything was found, but not if the army and bureaucracy was involved.
When communications was lost he immediatly organised a rescue mission and personally joined the mission to ensure success, improve morale and protect the company investments.
When shit hit the fan he ordered Gorman to stand down and let Ripley take over and save the remaining marines, showing courage and leadership under great stress.
Ripley's paranoid delusions had no basis in fact or any evidence that he was responsible for the facehuggers getting into the lab where she and newt slept. She did not provide any evidence for her incoherent rambling delusions about him trying to get her impregnanted with an alien and then to kill everyone in cryo sleep, I mean come on, fricking woman.
>Ripley's paranoid delusions had no basis in fact or any evidence that he was responsible for the facehuggers getting into the lab where she and newt slept.
This is correct.
The facehugger incident was probably Bishop's doing.
i thought the xenomorphs were so dangerous because by incubating in its prey it could learn all its weakness and then generate the most adapted predator for it ie acid blood, fingered hands to manipulate human machines, bipedal etc
I was disappointed they didnt go with this in aliens
Just rewatched Aliens again too, amazing how well it holds up in terms of characterization, it and Alien always felt so grounded in how low level merchant marine would act.
>yuge ass spaceship >only one squad of muhreens >no ship crew shown >the military guy in charge is a lieutenant fresh out of ocs
homie they could have fit a few more muhreen squads in there
i bet the sulaco can carry at least a thousand muhreens along with multiple dropships, apcs and equipment
4-5 squads of them would have rekt the hive in hadley's hope
I mean, it was literally all his fault. They found Ripley, no one believed her, he sends a message to the colony telling them to go look at grid coordinate, but not warning them about anything they might find. He was hoping to get a sweet deal on any profits.
For some reason he was the only likable character in the entire movie for me
you are israeli in spirit

I'm not sure you're being serious, he had the whole colony killed did he not?
Having trouble reading? NOT ON PURPOSE. He asked them just to go look at what was there and see if it was true.
Right.. if anything he gave them a heads up about the dangers they were facing
He said some stuff about skipping safety protocols because that would eat into profits. I think it was a rights thing; if he got other departments or organizations involved then the windfall from the find might get eaten up by legal/corporate bullshit.
All true, until he sets the facehuggers on Ripley and Newt
True, I think he panicked hard when she said she was going to ensure they pinned it all on him and nailed him to the wall. Then felt that his life would be over otherwise, but that dumb plan may be a way out.
he is a sniveling coward but I still dont blame him for wanting moni
That actor who played Burke said when he took his parents to see the movie they cheered when his character died.
The actor, Paul Reiser, is a comedian irl, right? Maybe that's their way of saying they don't like his jokes.
>Do we owe him an apology?
for what? being a blatant corporate israelite?
They thought the ayy was just a bug that can be easily neutralized
its not like they're intelligent
>molts into a kween immediately if there's no one else
>uses stealth
>can eventually determine that guns = bad and therefore must find another route
I think they are a little more cognitive than that. Aliens showed that the xenos have a hive mind, that is, they can all act for the same goal
>its not like they're intelligent
>They cut the lights
>"They" cut the lights?
>What do you mean "THEY" cut the lights, they're animals man
SPUNKMEYER
-ACK
RIP spunko
That's from Aliens 2
Seriously, is there a single person who liked Alien 2? If you like Alien 2 you are probably brain damaged.
It's the most popular movie of the entire series and the only reason Alien has lasted so long with so many books, games, comics building off of it. But you knew that already, contrarian.
I am talking about Alien 2, not Aliens.
Also:
Alien >> Alien 3 Assembly Cut >> Aliens >> Resurrection
capeshit is also very popular
Why? Gorman was an butthole.
Remember Burke did nothing wrong. He was total within company procedures to send crews out to the grid square to investigate, after all Ripley's story was way too fantastical to believe and had not been verified and bringing security/marines in at that point could have made him look stupid.

RIP Burke, you would have made VP.

This is correct.
The facehugger incident was probably Bishop's doing.
damn that's a credible possibility. Would've been an interesting twist for Alien 3.
I DUNNO MAN
I SAY WE WASTE THIS FILTHY israelite
Ugh what did Hudson mean by this
I think he meant that they should've wasted the filthy israelite
i thought the xenomorphs were so dangerous because by incubating in its prey it could learn all its weakness and then generate the most adapted predator for it ie acid blood, fingered hands to manipulate human machines, bipedal etc
I was disappointed they didnt go with this in aliens
I'd like to incubate inside you and learn all your weaknesses if you catch my drift
that's stupid and the whole 'mutating to be like whatever it's inside' didn't start until the shitty third movie anyway
yeah that is moronic. Often times simpler is better.
>giving anyone related to Wey-Y an apology
Kill 'em all.
THESE PEOPLE ARE DEAD, BURKE!
>Not my problem
Just rewatched Aliens again too, amazing how well it holds up in terms of characterization, it and Alien always felt so grounded in how low level merchant marine would act.

colonial marines are expensive
>Just tell me we're not going back to study it or bring it back, we're going to kill it.
>ThAtS tHe PlAn!!
He got Hudson killed, frick him.
Why didn't the facehugger hug him first?
