Believe it or not, sexuality, personalities, and temperament are all more complex than stereotypes. Flower is shown to be straight, there's no reason to project anything else on him. Straight men can be effeminate, gay men can be classically masculine, and there's a whole spectrum of combinations in between. Stop trying to push this weird stereotype-driven worldview and embrace the actual diversity of humanity.

I agree but the remake will just make him gay anyway
A few months ago I also watched Bambi 2 for the first time. I did it by starting with Bambi and then switching back and forth at the appropriate times. Bambi 2 was an okay kid's movie, I liked how they turned Ronno into a fleshed out character, but mostly I just learned to appreciate the original Bambi much more. I only ever saw it as a kid and I always thought it was just weird and pointless, but as an adult I finally get it.
Just all the stuff about growing up and coming into your own, the wonder of childhood and going through hardship and coming out an adult. I was like 8 years old the last time I watched Bambi before that so I couldn't relate to any of it, everything in the movie just washed over my smooth little baby brain and never stuck.

Same I thought bambi was sleep-inducing when I was a child but now it's a favorite of mine
It's fine, I guess. Bambi's father was just a retread of Mufasa here, and it's a shame when he had such a uniquely regal, almost mythical energy in the original.
threads involving talking animals eventually are degraded into furfags posting pornographic fanarts of such because there is always some furfag artist dedicated to make nsfw art of that specific character. this is why you can't have threads about cartoon cats as well. thank god the cartoon dog threads have remained somewhat under control and just deal with the same 1-2 anons baiting
It's been a while since I saw it. I remember that I thought it was great aside from a few scenes. I thought Bambi's father should have had less presence and got too cuddly with his son. Agree with
I don't see it as a problem. The first movie did imply that he took Bambi under his wing and got to actually know him, even if it all happened off-screen during a timeskip. The sequel just offered more detail on that aspect.
Also, I don't see how he's a retread of Mufasa. Mufasa was comfortable and happy with his role as a father. His bond with Simba was extremely close. Mufasa goofed around with his son when he felt like it, and he didn't mind other people seeing him act silly.
The Great Prince believed he had to play a dignified, distant role. He thought his mission in life was to impregnate his woman and then watch over his family from afar. His role in the movie was to learn that his approach was fucking things up, and he had to learn how to become a better father. Mufasa didn't have to learn anything; he just had to motivate his son into exile/return by dying and becoming a ghost.
One of the better one of the sequels of classics that Disney was churning out around that time. Has a good moral and works especially well due to the fact that it's not a sequel but an interquel. Would watch again.
Doesnt that work against it though.
The entire vision of Bambi was that it could be about any old animals out in the woods, hence why the characters are all so shallow.
2 making them more into characters goes against that and makes the snap back and forth timeline wise weird
I think that sounds like a girl's name
Why were Ronno and Bambi so gay for each other?
the accidental kiss changed their lives
He wasn't wrong
There's still people today that think bambi is a girl
Isn't the skunk a girl
No, he's just flamboyant. His voice deepens in the second half of the movie and he gets with a girl skunk.
Oh so he's comphet

>flamboyant
He's just bashful
Good word.
beautiful"
I think it is animated just as good as the original. I also think we cannot have "normal" Bambi threads anymore.
>I also think we cannot have "normal" Bambi threads anymore.
What happened?
You are new.
I'm scared to even know
Take me back to the days when movies like Bamb 2 and TFaTH 2 were considered cheap cashgrab animation. It's better than what we get nowadays.
We all cheered when Disney promised no more dtv sequels, the 2D animators all wept and left as they realized they no longer had any future at Disney

What did you get

The skunk is a fag
So are you but it's 2023, we accept you now
He has a wife and three kids, anon.
It was the 40s he had to
I thought he only had one kid, at least in the movie. Although I've seen a comic adaptation where he has a bunch of them.
An alternate adaptation.
t.

Otherwise a very middle of the road movie.
>uniquely regal, almost mythical
That's a unique way to say "1 dimensional and barely a character".
Sometimes thats all you need, especially for a movie like Bambi.
Oh God, he's hot!
He's a deer.
and anon is a queer

That is, at tops, a 12-point buck. Not anything to scoff at, but not AMAZING. They should have gone to 14, at least. And not a maybe-14 at that.
where are you getting 12 points from, there's only 10. are you counting the ears?
Oh, shit, those are the ears. My bad, anon. Thanks for pointing it out.
hard to hand-animate

so Mufasa portrays humans while Bambi's father acts like elves
Is it as good as Lion King 2? That the only disney sequel I like.
I'd say so

These books are really hard to find
stupid bambi
