Having watched through the whole thing as someone who doesn't care for horror stuff, I almost feel like the "analogue horror" aspect of it is just hamfisted in, what little there is; the "WHOA SPOOKY DISTORTED MUSIC" thing made me more irritated than anything else and the two mail-in episodes were a little cringe, especially the second one. Francis himself was pretty great though, kinda feel bad for the bro for getting NTR'd by Jonah. Gabby getting fed up with him in the Easter episode was funny as shit.
Super glad the thing didn't have any cheap jumpscares, that would've dropped it from like a 9/10 to a 5/10.
I got a real chuckle out of Jonah breathing heavily like a fricking weirdo at the last episode and Gabby getting kinda weirded out by him at the same time I was.

i really like the story, but i agree, i feel like the analogue stuff just feels tacked on there at times. the presentation text in a pixelated font using the zooming in effect sorta gives it away. I wish it felt a bit more authentic, but that's just me being nitpicky and i do like the "implied" horror for the series so far. I hope it continues to be that way. I'd like the series to give more "impact" but more in a sense that its implied horror becomes scarier as more episodes get released, with no explicits. True horror comes from the unknown, where we fill in the gaps

Yeaaahh, they didn't really fully avoid that trope, but it's interesting to see her teach kid Jonah how to take apart his dad's gun and to hide, plus she gave him an alibi for whenever "it" happened so he can't get accused of anything.
Plus I just get kind of a kick out of stories where things happen off-screen but you can tell what's going on based on what people say and their reactions, like Jonah spilling Easter egg dye on his shirt or telling him to nod once if his dad's going to be away for a while, like, you can just SEE what's going on with kid Jonah, even though we can't actually see him.
I really do hope they're playing it a bit straight in that she really is just his guardian angel and that she's NOT going to drag him to hell or something.
Given that wasn't the plot twist of the first few episodes I feel its safe to assume its being played straight.
Angel Hare definitely plays on the assumption that people are gonna think Gabby is evil, it being completely straight with her being a true guardian angel is great.

I’ve watched the first 3 videos in the playlist for this series, and for a small-scale project it seems alright so far. These types of analogue-horror videos aren’t really my thing in the first place, and I’m not a fan of parts of the presentation (the constant distorted music and the VHS text feel lame and kinda take away more than they add, imo), but yeah. I’d say it’s inoffensive but I don’t have a big urge to watch it all in one sitting and see what it turns into.
The videos having roughly 10k views after being up for almost 1 year did remind me that there’s a lot of random, obscure media being made by creators all the time. Regardless of the individual quality of some of these projects, it’s nice to remember you can really just make what you want and put it out there for others to find and enjoy.

But I'm burned out on all these "I went to a GARAGE SALE and found a SPOOKY NINTENDO CARTRIDGE / BETA MAX TAPE / 8-TRACK" stories that all play out exactly the same - the cartoon/video game breaks the 4th wall and "gets" the story teller IN REAL LIFE. And "gets" means basically kill / isekai / curse / trap in another dimension, etc.
They're just not good, and are a product of a generation of children raised on cheap mass media electronic devices (now adults) who are trying to create something original, but they can't imagine anything beyond "Power Rangers... but SCARY" because that's all they have to look back on from their childhood experiences because they never had any major life experiences that didn't involve staring at a screen. Gabby can be kind and caring to Jonah, but really her mission as an angel could be far wider in scope than watching over one troubled kid. It’s nice to have a fairly wholesome story once in a while, but so common is the trope of introducing a character who’s friendly and compassionate, but has their real intentions hidden until later in the story.
Not saying that her emotions/interactions we’ve seen so far aren’t genuine, but I wouldn't be surprised if we go the route of Gabby not actually being that concerned or attached to Jonah now that he’s grown up. Maybe she really is Jonah’s personally assigned guardian angel, but maybe angels have something else going, i.e. something that involves recruiting humans and preparing them for battle, for example. Gabby is seen to be very battle-ready and she’s taught Jonah how to be resourceful and defend himself.
At the end of the day though, angels are different beings than humans, and we don’t know what Jonah’s gotten himself into. With how obsessed he’s shown to be over his connection with Gabby, he could be a perfect (and expendable) soldier, willing to listen to whatever she has to say.

People discussing episodes and theorizing the new season, new viewers giving their opinion, occasional degeneracy/waifu-posting, new fanart, etc.
The subject matter itself is rife for inviting a mess of hate (analogue horror about religion with a furry main character, i.e a triple-whammy of topics to shit on), but it's not any worse than I expected. The show itself, while having things to fairly criticize about it, is so short and non-offensive and small-scale.
