I thought it was excellent for an independent project and it nailed the style it was going for. I just didn't think it was very funny overall besides that small Halloween short because Fox.
I feel completely the opposite
First episode feels like the entire things was just a setup to have Wolf and Fox have somewhat gay interactions.
Second episode feels like an actual expansion of the world and characters.
love starfox. might be the only non-furry in the fanbase. 64 presents a cool little universe. They're animals but they're embroiled in a conflict that spans their entire solar system. Its genuinely really cool and I like that Fox in space plays it straight. The Lylat system feels huge in SF64 because of the mission structure, and I always wanted to see more done with the setting.
presentation and tone are very worthy of praise, its exactly the kind of show I've always wanted in my life. Voice acting is superb. I look forward to the next episode more than any other projects.
Like the other guy kinda said I’m sure a lot of it is people reading more into it than Matthew probably really intended
Also any sorta Wolf/Fox vibe that might be interpreted in the first ep is definitely not present in the second
Obviously it helps to be familiar enough with the series beforehand to pick up on all of the little references and nudges but I think it's pretty good at presenting its story and characters and world in a way that's compelling and digestible to a blind newcomer
Wolf is such a fricking b***h. It's great
The only thing I'd feel like complaining about is how Matthew spoils about half of the runtime with those posted snippets of scenes he throws out to keep people from forgetting the series exists. It wasn't a problem for me since I didn't know AFIS existed until a few months after episode 2 dropped, but it seems off to chop off and display that much, like a trailer for a movie that spoils the entire plot and best scenes in a desperate attempt to catch peoples' eyes
It has a good style and tone, but unfortunately it is wasted on a fan project that will never have a budget and it recently seems more concerned on meaningless character drama than anything of consequence happening.
Love it. I also like the shorts he's been putting out. If he just kept making those I'd be happy. I hope he does after part 3.
>I liked the style of 60s/70s cartoon he was going for, and the tinny voice acting. Kind of a Ralph Bashki Star Fox.
Yeah same, captures that same feel.
They were experimenting with teleportation/portals on Titania. It's mentioned on the disks with Vixy's research and can be inferred from background lore over the years for portals being part of Andross' experiments
The most likely thing that comes to mind as the threat are the Aparoids. It seems to me that they accidentally made a portal to the Aparoid homeworld or some other planet that they were occupying, then the portal became unstable and blew up or one of the aparoids made it through, killing Vixy and causing the scandal that got Andross exiled and Pepper used his sway to shield James from. Andross is afraid that the Aparoids will come to Lylat now that they know there's intelligent life there (which obviously is what ends up happening in Assault)
Hearsay I only can reference posts on 4chins over but IIRC the creator talked about how in the plans for the series (before he realized how incredibly slow he was progressing) it was definitely going to incorporate the aparoids, with James going through a portal and encountering a ship infested by them, going full 343 Guilty Spark horror with the aparoids being like the Flood/Beast from Homeworld Cataclysm, speaking of forgotten vidya kino
That's fair
Hopefully he speeds up production and keeps the strong hand for conversational writing/voices in whatever original stuff he continues with after episode 3
the first episode was very inspired but it feels like he's losing interest and going through the motions which is understandable because animating a show by yourself must be exhausting
I like how he adapted her to fit within his series while still keeping her recognizable, but I do miss some aspects of Krystal's Adventures and Assault designs.
I like it but, it's not something I am remotely hyped about for ultimately it takes so long for really so little. Impressive sure, yet it's a serious detriment it can't be done quicker.
I love it, but I also still percieved time slowly by the time of the first episode so I'm kinda miffed that the show is a reminder of how short life is
it was also fun randomly stumbling across his first few experiments with the concept back in 2011 and seeing what it turned into
I like how dialogue and VA are done. Also kinda funny.
I was in middle school when it came out. That's all I will say.
I thought it was excellent for an independent project and it nailed the style it was going for. I just didn't think it was very funny overall besides that small Halloween short because Fox.
First episode was good but second was very slowpaced and not worth it the years it took to release.
I feel completely the opposite

kino
this.

Why did so many find Wolf and Fox’s bickering gay? It was kinda fruity sometimes though.
Maybe because it was made by a gay furry who explicitly ships Fox and Wolf?

I can understand why he does it tho. Episode 2 took years to make and he needs something to keep people looking at his channel.
All I remember is the scene where Wolf makes Fox take off his shorts to see if his legs are metal
SUUUUUUPEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR
Good
It has a good style and tone, but unfortunately it is wasted on a fan project that will never have a budget and it recently seems more concerned on meaningless character drama than anything of consequence happening.
Dess was my favorite no homo
Falco's mom's a total milf
>Dess was my favorite no homo
Snoozy boy.
This version of James really, REALLY, does it for me
Full homo. Maximum possible degree homo
Sex with Wolf
Sex sex with everyone
Even Sanic Hedgehog?
It’s so sad Star Fox died of Pigma
What the hell is Pigma?
PIGMA BALLS
Frickiong loved it. Good comedic bits mixed with actual seriousness?
>where are his shoes?
Fricking got me.
As far as I know, the only indie anim with good writing.
I liked the style of 60s/70s cartoon he was going for, and the tinny voice acting. Kind of a Ralph Bashki Star Fox.
Second ep taking so long to come out kinda made me lost interest though, haven't even watched ep 2 yet.
Without really saying anything else I think the episode is actually well suited for your situation
Love it. I also like the shorts he's been putting out. If he just kept making those I'd be happy. I hope he does after part 3.

What's the hole and who is beyond it that Andross mentions?

I appreciate both of you, thank you

Its bland, mediocre looks, terrible voices and audio
but enough about you
I respect his commitment to the craft, but it means the production takes literal fricking years. He'll be fricking dead before it ever goes anywhere.
Pure fricking kino. Nintendo better not kvetch to get it shut down because this shit is golden.
I don't give a frick about Starfox but I really love this dude's cartoons
That's fair
Hopefully he speeds up production and keeps the strong hand for conversational writing/voices in whatever original stuff he continues with after episode 3
Dude needs a small production team honestly
great interpretation of Andross
It's boring
i really like the way it reinvented Andross
Is it true that Sam Hyde (or someone related to him?) voiced one of the characters?
the first episode was very inspired but it feels like he's losing interest and going through the motions which is understandable because animating a show by yourself must be exhausting
I liked how Adult Swim-y it felt. The naturalistic dialog and dingy atmosphere was cool.
Thoughts on his Krystal design for episode 3?
Dunno really. At least she isn't just all breasts and ass, this is more in line with the style of the cartoon.
I like how he adapted her to fit within his series while still keeping her recognizable, but I do miss some aspects of Krystal's Adventures and Assault designs.
Yeah, I prefer that look
i like it, there's a million worse ways her design could've gone
Plus her fridge body looks huggable
Cute
Very specific and endearing atmosphere.
Glad the guy's working on something productive these days but do kinda miss his early work
I like it but, it's not something I am remotely hyped about for ultimately it takes so long for really so little. Impressive sure, yet it's a serious detriment it can't be done quicker.

I want Episode 3
