I know it's modern Hollywood slop, but damn, the story of Elvis got to me. Those frickers literally worked him to death.

But they made him a literal god. Like, people reported seeing him after his death. There are still pilgrimages to Graceland. People have shrines for him.
Whether it was worth it or not is immaterial, but that seems to have been the price for deification.
Call me crazy, but I think that would also have been possible without performing 2 shows a night, 7 days a week.
I don't know, honestly. Sinatra never became a god, the Marx brothers worked a similarly brutal schedule when they were in Vaudeville with none of the amenities. So i'm not sure it would have been possible.
>*dabs on Elvis in every conceivable way*
Both are good for their own reasons
nobody beats the king
did that girl just turn into a xenomorph
Elvis was without a single doubt one of the most gifted people of all time, but the thing you need to understand is that MJ was THE single most talented person of all time.
Seriously, just watch the intro. Literal gigachad energy.
reminder that Prince the gigamanlet bullied MJ to submission
>MJ was THE single most talented person of all time.
Not even close. He was a great performer, but his singing was mid-tier, and he wasn't a true musician that could play a multitude of instruments. Hell, Prince had more talent than MJ as a musician. MJ was huge because the nation watched him grow up, but without that early Jackson 5 resume, MJ would have been mid-tier had he appeared on the scene as an adult.
>Hell, Prince had more talent than MJ as a musician
It's weird that all of Prince's songs are hot dogshit then.
>but his singing was mid-tier
who are you trying to bait with this
MJ is what happens when someone who is genuinely talented has that talented fostered at a very young age. As much shit as his dad gets, MJ likely would not be as big, if at all, if his father didn't throw him into the biz early on and foster his talent.
lmfao yeah wtf why did she just do a random scream
>Im AAAAAActing
and it was kino
Wasn't he really fat towards the end of his life
Yeah, in his later years he basically only ate junkfood, which is honestly kinda weird considering that he was pumped full off amphetamines 24/7. Normal person couldn't eat a bite in that state.
It's definitely not the norm but I never lose my appetite no matter how much speed I do. At that point its less hunger and more just interested in taste, the sensation of chewing, etc
the performances were great but I just can’t stand Baz Luhrmann slop
>sing Black person/white boi music as a white boi/Black person
>get rejected by Black folk for being too white
>get rejected by whites for being too Black persony
many such cases.
Don't most homies agree that Eminem is the GOAT?
They know it, but would never admit it. Most of them place him in the top 5 with gritted teeth, but they know it's a cope.
>Don't most homies agree that Eminem is the GOAT?
No. Some of them can NEVER admit that a white boi can rap as good as a homie, let alone assume the position as one of the GOATs.
White people don't have shit on homies when it comes to being racist.
In the 90s and early 2000s yes, but these days no.
Back then he was breaking new ground by ranting about his mother. No homie ever talked shit about his momma on da radio.
>In the 90s and early 2000s yes, but these days no.
Don't want to derail the thread, but Eminem's career progression has greatly saddened me. So many of his modern tracks are just so shallow. Either they are "safe" tracks to generate a lot of plays, dumb meme shit or the nth attempt at another "rap god" verse. Which I could live with, artists change and that's fine BUT sometimes he still has parts that are imo as good has his tracks from his peak.
This one for example:
?t=108
Can't we just be thankful he isn't in pain any longer?
Dude's almost 50 and still putting out tracks that put most zoomer rappers to shame. Give him a break, man.
*ahem*
Is it gay if I'm attracted to David Bowie? I'm never attracted to men otherwise, well most of the time at least.
>Is it gay if I'm attracted to David Bowie?
nah
>simping for a pedophile drug addict
He had millions, he could have quit any time after he made it big.
BLACK HOLE SUN
WON'T YOU COME
AND WASH AWAY THE RAIIIINNN
The Colonel (dutch btw, totally not israeli at all)
Makes you think why he fled Europe.
This movie is shit and it's offensive they replaced his deep religiosity with this gay ass music was his religion shit
>Elvis told Nixon: “The Beatles had been a real force for anti-American spirit,” and also claimed, “The Beatles came to this country, made their money, and then returned to England where they promoted an anti-American theme.”
>The following year, Presley attended a tour of the FBI offices, and again, he used this time to spread his anti-Beatles propaganda to those in places of power. According to notes, Elvis explained to FBI director J. Edgar Hoover why “The Beatles laid the groundwork for many of the problems we are having with young people by their filthy unkempt appearances and suggestive music.”
What a butthurt jealous gay.
