I know this question is asked every few years but do people actually hate when adventure time starts to focus too much on the past, eldritch abominations, hard magic, etc
I rewatched the Orgalorg episode and i genuinely like it
you shouldnt focus on the past, but use it to give your setting exposition so youre not aimlessly wandering a world without reason
but yeah lore episodes are cool in small doses
I like the shit I watch to stay the way it was initially proposed. I like lore heavy stories but AT started as an episodic comedy and should have stayed like that.
There's some very loud people who heavily insist that everything past the first 2 seasons is completely shit, but their opinions definitely don't reflect what most people's experiences with the show will be. People largely liked when Adventure Time revealed aspects of its lore, it was only over time when certain plot threads were handled unsatisfactory (like Finn dating FP, or Finn losing his arm) that people started to not be as interested in the show and you see ratings dropping. But outside of those low points, the show is still largely enjoyable.
There are also some people who either didn't watch the later seasons or hadn't watched them in ages who just assume or make up stuff about it, a common thing I see said is "the show was overtaken by lesbians" which never happened, it's just an assumption because Marcy and Princess Bubblegum kiss in the finale. Their actual presence together throughout the show is pretty miniscule, and peaks in season 7 with Varmints and Stakes. There is far more focus in the later seasons on Finn, The grass sword arc, him losing his arm, his relationship with his dad, him discovering he's a catalyst comet, him and the Finn sword, him getting trained by rattleballs, him and Fern's dynamic, him discovering other humans and his mother, him trying to save the world in the elements miniseries, more shit with him and Fern after they become rivals, There's just so much Finn stuff that it baffles me people even think that the show became all about PB and Marcy. It's like they saw that one gif of Finn putting his hands on their shoulders awkwardly and assumed that's what the whole latter half of the show was about.
People's problems with AT were mostly with Season 6 getting too navel-gazey and trying too hard to be "deep, man". Season 9 had this to an extent as well, Gumbald was kind of a lame final villain. There was also some of the plot threads mentioned here
The Orgalorg plotline was kind of dumb since they made Gunter an evil space man for like 3 episodes total, but if you enjoy it that's fine
Gumbald was a great villain they just ran out of time to do anything with. They should have set him up ASAP after Elements at least and dropped the Jake alien shit >Gumbald was kind of a lame final villain.
well yeah that's why they forced Golb into the finale
>their opinions definitely don't reflect what most people's experiences with the show will be
If I cared for what most people think I wouldn't be on this god forsaken website.
>I rewatched the Orgalorg episode and i genuinely like it
I don't dislike the Orgalorg episode because of what you asked; that's silly. I dislike it because they spend all this time alluding to him, hyping him up... and then he talks EXACTLY THE SAME as everyone else in the show.
Thats what happens when you plan for seasons you haven't already been ok'd for. Golb and Gum war were two different plots mushed together for a lackluster finale
It was interesting until they shit the bed with it leaving a sour taste in your mouth. Than to add piss to the poop they made in the bed they write Orgalorg off as a joke by turning him into IceThing. Adventure time has such a toxic relationship with there fans it’s like marvel and there fans. Where they intentional rage bait them.
Because the writers were not very good. They didn't understand character depth, plot progression, or any of the hundred things that make a good story. They flung shit at all the wall

the problem with later seasons of adventure time isn't that it pulls away from the main characters, but that it never gets back on track

Having Simon and Betty interact at all in modern times was insanely detrimental and it shows now in Fionna & Cake

For people actually looking for those two dykes it's a real hunt. Not much of them at all.

A lot of people gave up when it stopped basically being a lol so randumb stoner comedy
How powerful is Orgalorg
Pretty powerful but everything jobs to the grass sword except the lich
Now that is just confusing

How does Jake do it, bro?
Golb was a real big let-down.
Alot of show has that
