I don’t encounter low functioning people much, but I think I’ve heard that less verbal people sometimes have an easier time with pictographs or signs. Have you ever been so tired that you don’t even feel like you can be bothered to form words, so you just grunt and gesticulate to communicate an idea? I imagine it’s a little like that, only instead of being sleepy, that part of the brain just doesn’t do traditional words so well.
Also, historically, if a less verbal person grows up in an environment where the people around them just plain won’t tolerate alternative non verbal communication, then that person’s language development can wind up stunted, putting them at an even greater disadvantage.

I don’t encounter low functioning people much, but I think I’ve heard that less verbal people sometimes have an easier time with pictographs or signs. Have you ever been so tired that you don’t even feel like you can be bothered to form words, so you just grunt and gesticulate to communicate an idea? I imagine it’s a little like that, only instead of being sleepy, that part of the brain just doesn’t do traditional words so well.
Also, historically, if a less verbal person grows up in an environment where the people around them just plain won’t tolerate alternative non verbal communication, then that person’s language development can wind up stunted, putting them at an even greater disadvantage.

As a kid you can get earlier intervention, which in the broadest terms is the closest you get to "curing" it. For adults, not nearly as much, but learning relayed coping strategies and just knowing why you're the way you are is comforting to many.
The latter didn't work for me though. My perspective is basically "my life is still shit, so who cares if you call it x, y, or z?"

Autist here. Yes and no. It depends, is she passable as attractive? All autistic kids at my high school tended to know each other to some degree and. As a guy who's been skinny my entire life, after a bad accident and metabolism slowing down, I ballooned up over 40lbs. Watching my stomach get bigger in the mirror felt alien, like my body was being warped.
I've spent the last few years since I got my body back losing weight. I still feel wrong looking down and seeing a bulging stomach, even though I'm back to my pre-accident weight.

What I described to you isn't behavior exclusive flirting. It's to come across as more appealing by nature in expressing that you have likeminded ideas/values and thus separate yourself from the rest.
