The average person uploading "le weird thing that happened" on youtube would do it with a voiceover or facecam.
I'll give this thing points on it's presentation of christianity so far, tho. There is this narrative among non-christians (and some weirdo christians) that christians are supposed to be victims and never be proactive in their self defense. I disagree with this criticism because there is no conceit that the videos are actually supposed to be real, there are credits at the end of every episode for example. The found footage aspect is just the framing for the story, but there's clearly no pretense that it's supposed to actually be found footage.
It's the difference between a book pretending to be a diary and a book with a story that has diary entries in it.
Found footage is gay, few know how to actually use the framing in a satisfying way and this is not one of the exceptions.

There’s something a lot more derpy about these sketches compared to the final design that I can’t put my finger on.
Her eyes are a little more off-center and with noticeably different sizes. Larger, solid black pupils too, which makes her look more childish.
It's impressive what small adjustments can do for a character.
