He is incredibly one note. Nobody denies that. I just find it charming how hard he sticks to his guns in the character department. Its a style that has a level of comfort and nostalgia to it.
Me personally, a better criticism is that he can't write a 2nd draft to save his life. Everything he makes feels like its a rough draft of an actual story. A bad habit from his radio drama-esque beginnings with his youtube channel.
I think he actually needed the experience of working with a team after being mostly a storyboarder and a writer for his own stuff, and working with Glitch might be the breakthrough he needed. Gotta admit, his personal skillset is impressive just from the stuff he does on his own channels. I'm exhausted just thinking about all the storyboarding, recording, editing, writing etc work he does on his own let alone coordinating with people like voice actors.
In the very first thread I was like "I bet the video creator will be hyped by anon because he added a fapbait spider character who's quirky. Self proclaimed edgelord anon who's random and never forgets and never forgives and never follows mainstream casual shit will easily be turned into a marionette."
shame this was only one episode
i found MD and IC's pilots a little annoying at times but the episodes after in each series got better
i would like to think Cliffside would be the same if it continued
