Sanjay and Craig got their roots in 2004, a whole year before the original student film that Pops originated in.
Apparently, the creators wanted it to be a throwback the the classic 90's era of Nickelodeon when developing the show.
They had that much time and the show still ended up being complete trash

Breadwinners had its moments and some decent side characters but was mangled by repetitive singing humor and mean-spirited stories that give CatDog a run for its money. SwaySway was too much of an overconfident dick and Buhdeuce is just a whiny fat frick. It's really easy to see why Rambamboo can't even stand them.

The first season of Breadwinners was fricking awful, worse than any of these other shows. But season 2 actually got funny. No one cared enough to watch by then.
Sanjay and Craig was not the greatest thing, but it had a few characters to care about.

Fanboy and ChumChum. the show easily has the most talented artists and animators behind it and the occasional well-timed gag or funny joke is a pleasant surprise between the obnoxious overstimulation brought on by the main duo's voices

That was the height of the Mr Enter era animation youtube and all the youtubers hated it for not having lore like Gravity Falls or Adventure Time. Look at all the shows hated in that time, it amounts to being wacky instead of lore focused. Youtubers didnt care about Wonder Over Yonder until after its lore focued second season
If shows like Kiff came out back then they'd be hated too

It had an admittedly REALLY bad first season and popped up in an era where getting unreasonably angry at cartoons on internet could garner you a large following. It was just a really easy target for awhile.
Same. I didn't care how gross and weird it could be. (Ren and Stimpy got away with more disturbing shit and everyone loved that show including myself) I liked the characters enough to make me forgive the worst this show offered. Linda Cardellini was one of the highlights because of how enjoyable and charming her character was.
Stuff like this, Mighty B, Harvey Beaks, It's Pony, and Middlemost Post were all enjoyable shows from Nick in the past 15 years that were just overlooked on forgotten about not from here but everywhere else and it bums me.
Honestly, I never found the first season to be that bad. It was the weakest of the three but that didn't mean it was all bad. I assume they just were trying to figure out what to do with the show when writing these early episodes. For every awful episode, there's always a great one from that season.

this, people complain about Nick cancelling shows, but those were all good shows audiences passed over. Harvey Beaks and It's Pony hit the hardest but the others were all good shows as well
well we're exiting an era for Disney now so I suspect the shows coming out now on Disney to get a lot of hate as a result, Im sure half the shitposting Primos is getting is just people being (admittedly justifiably) mad Owl House ended early

Considering how obscure the show is, it shouldn’t be too surprising that no one was aware.
I just finished watching this and it’s really interesting stuff with Craig’s different origin story and Darlene’s voice. Also, Megan looked completely different in appearance and I’m honestly happier with what they went with in the final product. Those pigtails look really off-putting compared to the cute bobcut they went with.
It was eventually reworked for the first season apparently where Megan took much of Noodman’s part and Vijay, Darlene, and the Dicksons were dropped in the finalized story.
The snake took the spotlight for all the fat scenes when it should've gone to the female characters.
Should’ve included Megan and Sam in this. In fact, make all four girls fat.

Yep, both he and SB99 both recently did their own fetish art out of this show involving Darlene and Belle with the former being the victim in both cases. I could see Dustin and RidiculousCake taking on these characters as well.

The artstyle was unappealing.
It grew on me overtime. In some ways, it felt like a Nicktoon that would have fit well in the 90s with it's humor. I thought the same for Pig Goat Banana Cricket, especially its artstyle.
