The world building was nice but the characters were so generic and the storyline so bland and tasteless. All le females survive, all the men are either dead or weak or villains. The future is female, goys.

      this
the only good thing is the interaction of the planet and the stolen art style
the story is so boring that you arent really interested in knowing what happens next
i watch a the first three episodes and im probably gonna watch the rest because why not but im not on edge to know whats gonna happen
they didnt catch me at all
and the bland characters dont help at all to keep you interested to know what happens to them

the dialog in the beginning was quiet accurate
      >sir a bunch of nobodies went lost
      >well too bad idgf Black person
thats how you feel watching it

Sounds like SABLE the TV Show.
One of the best engines/environments ever that felt like running around in a Moebius illustration. But the most dull and rail-locked html-structured "story" ever. I ended up writing a separate little potential comic book story alongside playing it because there seemed to be all these story cues they never exploited. It also sucked because I couldn't name my scooter "homosexualsmasher 3000". Only "Celeste" or "Twinkletoes" or some re-scripted princessy shit.

Only remembered all this yesterday because gog sent out a sale email which featured this game:
https://www.gog.com/en/game/aer and it seems to be the exact same structure but in another fantasy setting with yet another appropriated/wasted art style. Even some of the temples look exactly the same. Gotta be the same writer or something. Wonder if they had anything to do with this shiteful streaming show.

What advantage to the plant does this ritual provide that would’ve prompted its evolutionary development?

This kind of sci-fi settings works on rule of cool alone.

          Anonymous

Yeah idk, maybe I’m just a buzzkill but my caveat for “rule of cool” is that it only works when your show is fast paced and high energy. If it’s relentlessly slow like most of Scavenger’s Reign I get to overthinking the mise-en-scene

HBO really is just nflix now but with brand loyalty from lame leftists that think it signals prestige, even more like an Apple product than Apple’s streaming service.

Cool, but the telepathic monster that took that guy inside was too much.

      Anonymous

      >telepathic
I think the ending implies that he was merely taping into the planet's consciousness and borrowing its power to do his thing.

        Anonymous

The telepathic lemur was called hollow in subtitles, so it just took in Kamen’s traits. Which doesn’t really make sense since Kamen was a whiny insecure b***h not a cold blooded ruthless murderer

the telepathic monster was done very well except levi sayajin blasting it at the end. it makes sense, but was executed badly

i really hope they get a season 2.

There is no material for season 2. The whole series was built on several groups of survivors travelling through different biomes, one big cool exposition. Now audience is more or less familiar with all the weird creatures on that planet. I have no interested watching a whole season of them living in hippie commune since there is nothing at stake anymore

there could be a season 2

          What do you mean?

pandafrog only has rather mid psychic abilities and it tried to connect with an aeons old shroom, so it got destroyed/reconstructed. but a literal kamehameha blast was a bad representation of that

            >pandafrog only has rather mid psychic abilities and it tried to connect with an aeons old shroom, so it got destroyed/reconstructed
So what's the relation between the shroom and the planet then? I kinda thought that both got their power from the same source, and that the fatass got reverse uno'd by the incarnation of the planet/source of his power.

              Anonymous

as i said, the pandafrog has pretty limited abilities and intellect. the messages it sended to kamen were probably gibberish to itself with signifiers to kamen to get him to collect more food, like -you are low status- and -i am dissapointed-. also it overexerted itself with the use of its telecenetic abilities. in the last episode it moved a crate, hovered a body and tried to snap a neck, deflected a mine, blew some more crates around and pushed azi around. by the end it was visibly tired and sweating, so its not really capable of much telekinesis. the shroom entity that made levi sentient/revived it is just much more powerfull. pandafrog is like a drop in the ocean in comparison. still, a literal energy blast was terrible execution.

    c) pozzed

I don’t understand why every homosexual on this board has to be so contrarian all the time about everything, oh no there’s Black folk and lesbians yeah I hate that esg garbage too but the xenobiology and body horror are fricking great

      Anonymous

Its not contrarian you homosexual. The pozzed garbage is not entertaining story telling. How do you explain them portraying all men as either weak, villainous or eventually useless? Is that entertainment for you? The only good thing about this show is the background around it, everything else is the tired old pozzed bullshit about female power and that is not how you tell a good balanced story.

the thing i dislike the most is the black female lead, not because shes black but its one of those super abrasive, unpleasant, strong, independent women that women think is badass, just like the captain of the scavenger ship
im so fricking tired of this gay ass archetype of strong wymyn, i literally skipped every scene with her after her introduction
the fricking ROBOT has more personality than this b***h, why do writers think people want to see more of this shit character, its like later season "The Expanse" Naomi
