Probably bait but I'm in a Spider-Man mood so I'll bite. I really don't get the appeal of the Raimi movies especially if you like them over Spider-Verse and Spectacular. Their okay movies that are carried by their great visuals and fun performances from the villains.

I can't live with existential dread every day of my life. I have to go about my day and do things and interact with people.

Without this sort of content, I could not function.

I liked Raimi's movies. They were upbeat, simple, fun. No politics shoehorned in, no adult children to babysit. Just everyone enjoying a family movie together, having fun.

It was Americana. Not the movie, but the experience. Everyone hops in their cars for a night off of studying, everyone laughs and has a good time, everyone has fun and goes home happy and content, full of popcorn and junk food. There was nothing wrong with it, why did they have to ruin everything?

To me, nothing is worse than the MCU Spidey, imagine turning Spider-Man into Iron Man's b***hboy and then wasting 2 movies with that stupid subplot when Spider-Man as a character is suppose to be bigger than Iron Man.

Its politics, its always politics. Some understudy with more clout and better connections. even mediocre is too good. We can not be allowed anything to enjoy ourselves with. When will someone break the silence?

the endless conformity, the pressure, people afraid for their livelihoods. When is someone finally going to break? When will we have had enough?

      I hear you, OP.
Spiderverse is absolute utter garbage and a cancerous tumor on Spider-Man.
Spectacular is great though and I'm saying that as an ardent 94 series defender.

Holland is just grating to me. He's everything bad about Tobey (I love Raimi, but I'm not gonna pretend I like Tobey's Peter) except more whiny and wimpy in all the worst ways.

That's another thing you reminded me of why I hate the MCU's Spidey, why do they keep making him a teenager? They should know that the best Spider-Man is when he's in his early adulthood not when he's running around worrying about stupid shit like prom or whatever the frick.

He's kind of pigeon holed in the MCU because Spider-man becoming a hero when he's a kid is a big part of his character. So how the frick do you have Spider-man in a universe that'd canonically been chugging along for a decade now, flying completely under the radar of people who are both in New York and very up everyone's ass about having Super powers. Especially since he's the only one without a built in excuse of being classified or having a infinite resources to hide their existence? Spider-man is literally the man on the street hero. He has to be green if he's going to exist here or otherwise it makes no sense that nobody even mentions him. Everything else is just capitalizing on Ultimate Spidey.

            Anonymous

Honestly laying that all out now, I feel like they just shouldn't have tried to bring Spider-Man into the MCU or rather just have him appear much earlier (and bit the bullet and just paid Sony for licensing). The way he was portrayed was such an embarrassment and I think even with the whole "Erase everyone's memories" shit it won't really fix much.
