I really want to watch this movie, Mulholland Drive is my favourite film ever. But i’ve never seen Twin Peaks, can i watch this or do i have to watch the series first? I’m unsure if Twin Peaks is good enough to be worth it

Still great on it's own but having watched TP makes it even better.
Several plot points will be entirely out of context, but it still functions as a standalone prequel to the TV show.
It is that good, seasons 1 and 2.
And then you have to watch The Return after FWWM afterwards because its kino as well.
Watching it as a prequel first is the wrong move, it gives you important context that shouldnt be revealed before watching the show
It reveals the killer. I'd watch the series first.
>I really want to watch this movie,
You shouldn't, it's shit.
>Mulholland Drive is my favourite film ever
Oh, well, if you like that garbage you'll like this trash too. It's the same shit.
You're moronic
>I’m unsure if Twin Peaks is good
It isn't good. It is some of the worst trash ever on television
you guys ever see a gif like this and actually watch it, like I've seen this gif so many times but it's had to have been years since I actually watched the whole video
You need to watch the show first. The vast majority of the story assumes that you've seen the show. Watching FWWM without first watching Twin Peaks would make you more moronic than this idiot
u want to watch an extension to a television show without watching the show......I slap you
Season 1 & 2 first then FWWM.
If you watch FWWM without watching the series first the movie won't hit as hard. It's a very emotionally loaded movie with incredible perfomance from Sheryl Lee, probably even than Mulholland Dr in these aspects.
I like Mulholland Drive
I like Lost Highway
I like Inland Empire
But i hate boring detective shit. I like weird shit that actively makes no sense & doesn’t try to explain it. Will i like Twin Peaks?
Twin Peaks is less lynchian than any of his films, it doesn’t make you think due to it’s complexity. So no you’ll hate it
Oh man, season 3 would be right up your alley. I'd watch season 1, 2, fwwm and s3 if I were you.
I agree with other anons saying that you should watch the series first (at least s1 and s2), just want to add that the movie has a way different vibe from the series. The show is a lot comfier while FWWM is more chaotic, bizarre, and permeated with dread
I love dread, psychological horror and seeing characters descend into madness. Seems right up my alley.
The show is Lynch, Frost and whoever the frick directed the second half of S2. FWWM is pure Lynch, for better or worse.
Watch the series first
I know this is ancient, but IMO S2 8-9 Good and
S2 20-22 Damn Fine.
Yes, watch the original series as it was released.
Is accurate. Worth watching the whole thing regardless, there's only really one irredeemable plotline in S2 as it goes nowhere.
It’s way better if you watch the show first, because a few things won’t make sense and it completely spoils the shows main plot points. If you really don’t care about that though I don’t see why not, but the show is one of the best things Lynch has done.
The scene in the morgue gave me a boner.
Teresa Banks was very beautiful
David Lynch is overrated. Pretentious hipster garbage.
where is the monk thread?
on the jidf board.
you know that Tony Shaloub is not israeli. He looks israeli but he is not.
You're not gonna know what the frick is going on, or why anything that happens is important.
You can watch it. They show who the killer is, but not like watching the series helps any. Twin Peaks is one of the most surrealistic, absurdist franchises in existence. Nothing is going to really make sense, but the style and shit that goes on will be enthralling nonetheless.
>But i’ve never seen Twin Peaks, can i watch this or do i have to watch the series first?
Yes.
It also ruins some plot twists for Twin Peaks otherwise.
TP is worth watching for the most part, there are just a handful of episodes in S2, when Lynch had left for a time, that you should watch 2x speed because they're completely useless filler.
Dude, watch fricking Twin Peaks, it's the best TV show ever
I didn't want to watch it either and FWWM was the last Lynch feature left for me so I did watch, and boy am I glad I did
I've probably had more conversations about twin peaks than any other piece of media I've ever watched
Well if you don't watch the Twin Peaks series you're robbing yourself of a once in a lifetime viewing experience.
>Of the 30 episodes that seasons 1 and 2 consist of, Lynch directed only six (6).
You must watch the series first. Do not listen to anyone saying otherwise. You will miss out on half of what makes it good if you dont.
Watch the two original seasons of TP then drop it.
the Movie is shit
series 3 is shit
