this is the worst when they do that. i've been in that situation. i'd say it's 50:50, half the time they just didn't want to explicitly reject you and are waiting for you to forget about it, the other half they are actually busy. i'd try to get a specific date. personally i don't give any time or effort to people like that any more. it's just too much of a rollercoaster of wondering what the frick is up.

Still not a lie. He went against his order and married, so he’s the one doing the lying. The only thing I see is believing Sheev when he told him the Jedis were about to overthrow him and take over the senate.

Anakin's motivation for joining the Dark Side wasn't decided when they began filming RotS. He originally was supposed to believe the Jedi were actually betraying Palpatine rather than his desire to save Padme. The dialogue on Mustafar is left over from the original reason. He was also supposed to be present for Palpatine's arrest.
Palpatine convinced Anakin that the Jedis were overthrowing the Republic. Thus them being evil.
