Religion may be moronic but faith is universal. Part of the human experience is interacting with concepts that so vastly dwarf the individual's ability to grasp that if a stance is taken at all it must be taken by faith. There are systems at work in the universe that don't discriminate between 40 iq and 180 iq; both are hopelessly out of their depth to ever develop even a rudimentary understanding. The midwit logic reductionists do not engage with the universal phenomenon of humanity's intractable relationship with faith as a source for modulating behavior. It is the height of moronation to mock something as basic, unavoidable, and instinctual as breathing for being foolish.
Where faith gets lost is when it is equated to truth. The identity of belief is the underlying element of doubt. Remove the doubt and you are no longer acting on faith but on delusion. It is a sign of higher intellect to face doubt and act in service of belief anyways to manifest an expression containing will to some degree (or at least the illusion of will based on your personal ignorance). Lower Iq individuals do not possess the faculties to simulate multiple outcomes. They are hardcapped against understanding doubt. They cannot into indeterminate outcomes and therefore they muddy the waters of faith by forcing faith into the molds of truth or fiction.
To act on faith alone with doubt is about as close to the peak of human consciousness as one can get. Limit testing. To act on belief alone when you know your effort will be in total vain but you cannot bear to enact any of the other alternatives presented to you is more than human and the pinnacle expression.
