What has actually happened in this comic? Taylor has been on the book for like 3 years now, but whenever I ask people reading what the story is they just rattle off tiny things that happened. "Dick adopted a three legged dog! Dick and Babs get so many cute moments!" They never mention the plot or any story arcs.
A lot of it has been one-off issues and 1-2 part stories. Biggest storyline was Blockbuster being killed, again. Maybe it's because I've been reading 70's/80's comic collectionss a lot recently, but I'm ok with the smaller, non-arc based storytelling. I'm burnt out on arcs. An enjoyable one and done story to me is more valuable than trying to make a big arc where nothing's the same ever again.
Dick got his brownstone on Hawthorne back and regained Bridget Clancy as a supporting character. Clancy now has two young children.
Dick adopts a three legged puppy, who is totes adorbs, and names him Bitewing.
Dick gets a retcon nemesis named Sheldon who he knew as a child, who's secretly a serial killer named Heartless
Blockbuster gets retconned back into the traditional Kingpin knockoff, with Brutale and Electrocutioner returning as lackeys.
Dick, fresh from a bout of magical amnesia, reconciles with Babs, who's suddenly not being a c**t about the memory loss, and they start dating.
Dick finally gets his disbursement from Alfred's will, which is literally all of Alfred's money, so he's now a billionaire.
Dick uses the money to start a charitable foundation in his honor and starts a city revitalization project. Dick's work with the foundation is the main thing driving the plot.
Dick starting the foundation and taking an active role in Bludhaven politics puts him in the crosshairs of Blockbuster, Heartless, and Bludhaven's new mayor Melinda Zucco who is secretly his bastard half-sister. She's the cuck-born non-bio-daughter of Tony Zucco.
Blockbuster tries repeatedly to murder Dick. His apartment building gets blown up. The early W/P Titans come together to keep Dick safe. The Titans and the Batfam help Dick take down Blockbuster. Heartless murders Blockbuster. Dick builds a Titans Tower in Bludhaven so the team can all stay there after Deathstroke and the Society blow up the tower in NYC.
Dick and the Titans break into hell to steal the contract to a little girl's soul from the devil Neron. Dick finally meets his 5th dimensional fanboy, Nite-Mite. Fan theory is this is Nosyarg Kcid's final form.
Dick discovers his amnesia girlfriend Bea is secretly a pirate princess and the next in line to run a secret society in Bludhaven that dates back centuries. They have some lame and gay pirate adventures.
Dick finally gets video proof that Zucco murdered his parents. This is continuing the Nu52 Zucco storyline where he was never successfully prosecuted for the murder of the Graysons.
Heartless comes back again, I guess? He's working with Tony Zucco to break Dick Grayson. Zucco hates Dick because he's still mad his dad cucked him all those years ago.
The overarching narratives are the evolving relationship between Dick and Babs and the growth of the Pennyworth Foundation. It's mostly low-stakes stories, there's nothing earth-shattering, but you can't say that nothing happened.
Taylor is the first writer in years to remember that Babs is an omega autist super nerd with no game who gets horny over proper grammar and network security whitepapers. And you guys think there's something wrong with this.
it's just boring. There are some good ideas in there but the execution is poor and pretty much all of Dick's wins feel unearned. It's lacks tension in the conflicts which drags down the whole thing. People will only remember it for the fanservice
So you ARE dropping it, right?
No.
OK good. I was worried the status quo might change one day.
We can only hope DC doesn't look to demon shitter for inspiration
Yeah, you wish that were still true.
Just pirate it then.

>Melinda Zucco who is secretly his bastard half-sister
She's his full sister.
Dick is half-Asian!?
My mistake. She's his half sister.
No, but Damian is.
Everyone forgets that Ra's and Talia are half-Chinese.
>arabic-born descendants of chinese slaves
look how chinese they look. There sure wasn't any mingling there.
Ra's dad is full Chinese.

Babs is also a perfectly functional human being that is adept in social situations.

>heterosexual content
>gay
Huh?
the fundamental issue of Taylor's Nightwing run is that it's written by Tom Taylor.
Nightwing is the biggest gay icon in comics.
Cute
Is this a badum tss moment? Because I like it when the women are the ones making goofy, silly jokes. It's endearing.
