I haven’t been in a fight past the age of 14, but I have killed at least 1,000 animals. I’m like Robert Baratheon I tell ya. I said it before and I’ll say it again

People used to watch public executions for entertainment. Watching violence and gore isn't anything new or strange

I don't think they're sick in the head but they're definitely kind of dumb. Lot of overlap between the trailer park crowd and the slasher movie crowd

I think it’s probably normal. When I was 12 I would be a little bit scared to watch a gory film, but most movie gore is still pretty cartoonish

I'd snap you in two homosexual. I'm a former boxer and I've seen plenty gore irl, but gory horror movies like Halloween are just fricking weird to me. They just make you tense and on edge and you have to sit and watch as a bunch of young people are brutalized? Sorry I'm not a psychopath idk

I don't "enjoy" them, but i do think they add a lot to a movie if its done right.

I like to watch them to guess how they did the special effects (assuming they were practical) and how I could go about doing it myself.

"Gore" in mass media is entirely fetishistic in nature
It's extremely rare to see violence depicted realistically.
Rarely do you see the death throes of life leaving someone's face, instead it's pink goo splattering everywhere when someone is shot by a 9mm lol (put if someone is stabbed there is curiously little blood).
If anyone remembers Shogun 2 Total War, they added animations for downed soldiers where they writhe in pain dying on the battlefield for up to one minute. This alone added so much to the realism. It added weight* to death and violence.

We live in this state of feeling like we're above nature. Some occasional gore reminds you that you're still a sack of meat. Verification not required.

    >Minority of the biggest hardcore are female

Probably a demographic overlap with women who send love-letters to serial killers in prison. Remnants of the old days calling out from the genome.

What a low IQ take. Mentally sound people like practicing all kinds of weird BDSM shit, but watching gore on a screen is too much?

People who does BDSM grew up in an abusive household. Probably an abusive paternal figure. People who gets off to hurting others had an abusive maternal figure. Simple as.

If someone likes gory horror films I would feel very safe around that person, because it shows that they still get some adrenaline and excitement out of watching the films, which means they aren’t desensitized to violence. Someone who doesn’t like the movies is desensitized or depressed. You can also enjoy violence in a way that isn’t evil or depraved, it’s why little kids like Star Wars or action films. It would only be worrying if someone liked horror movies and was a satanist

      Why? Satanists are largely LARPers.

My friend and I lost our shit cracking up at those Chef Wang youtube videos, the chinese chef that just rambled off in Chinese for like five seconds and then chops off the head of whatever he's cooking. It's not that we liked seeing animals die, it's just that it was such an absurd and shocking sight watching this Chinese man yell something at us then kill the animal that was just flopping around seconds ago.

We think the All-Violence-No-Sex angle of morality that boomers maintained was pretty flawed.

Gore stuff is incredibly similar to porn, you get a mental kick out of it. Honestly it's fine every now and then; but if you're the kind of person who's actively seeking it out constantly and trying to find more and more extreme shit because "the old stuff doesn't cut it anymore" then yeah you got a problem.

The only one I was genuinely disturbed by was a video where a group of Indians got stuck on a rock just before a waterfall and a large splash of water just swallows them along. You could see the helplessness in their demeanor when they saw the water was coming.
Another one a scene from ISIS Africa propaganda video where they were running around and then they saw a guy sleeping outside his house, they just run upto him and shot him. Who the frick does that ? Just. Shooting. Someone Sleeping. He went to sleep and he will never wake up.
