I think this is a neat and under appreciated film from Pixar’s catalog.
What are Cinemaphile‘s thoughts?

I really hope they don't make a sequel.
closest we got was the blooper in Toy Story 2
Same. It makes me feel hopelessly nostalgic for the genius of early Pixar, and what they accomplished with hilariously limited technology.
Honestly? It's one of my favorite things that Pixar did.
it is great, americans don't like it because they are hard wired to hate anything with a worker's rights message on it
4 posts.
What's the Cinemaphile record for poors expressing their obsession, again?
obsessed
I want to like it every time I watch it but I get bored around the middle.
I think it's a good movie but it's a massive step down from Toy Story 1 and is completely blown out of the water by Toy Story 2.
I liked how many sitcom stars of the era were in this film
one of Madeline Kahn's last roles before she died too
I watched it a ton as a little kid who loved nature, pretty solid
Hopper scared me
Hopper still scares me
Spacey really captured that pedophile rapist vibe, you can tell he puts a lot of effort into his craft
Should I be surprised considering that he eventually was exposed as a pervert?
I am clearly making a joke based on the accusations leveled against him
Thumper and the bird were pretty scary for a kids movie. Especially in the PS1 game.
I was fricking obsessed with it as a kid. I don't know why. It wasn't even an autistic interest field thing because I don't care about bugs.
the music really stuck with me
Flik’s theme/credits song is sad in that Randy Newman way
the whole score is pretty heavily influenced by Aaron Copland
It's meh.
I loved it as a kid. All I really remember is that this and Antz came out around the same time.
If you know the story, it was definitely intentional
It seems like this film has gotten a lot of shit from people due to how Flik was treated badly in the film. (Which was the main criticism of Chicken Little besides the fact that it became a Dreamworks wannabe)
The circus bugs and Hopper were fantastic and carried the whole film.
I love when he travels to the city.
DON’T LOOK AT THE LIGHT
I wish there was more insect related stuff, but my problem is they always have to over humanize both the designs and behavior which to me, ruins it.
I had to re-read your post.
It's good but nothing amazing
I'd say it's on par with some of the better 2010s and 2020s Pixar movies (i.e. Inside Out, Coco, Soul, TS3)
I'm convinced Disney memoryholed this movie because of its message
Shit commie propaganda
take your meds
Really good movie
>film about a feudal kingdom fighting off bandit outsiders
>uhhh it's actually really about the struggles of the working class (whom i hate in real-life) and the bourgeois
Shut the hell up frickface.
This is a based chuddy reinterpretation of the movie. Actually, your interpretation makes more sense but it definitely wasn’t received like that

This was the first movie I ever saw in a theater.
I loved it, thinking about it makes me want to go outside.
Daily reminder that they are getting rid of the Bug’s Life show at Animal Kingdom (also getting rid of Dinosaur and the entirety of Dinoland)
>ANTS AREN'T MEANT TO SERVE israeliteS
What did Lasseter and Stanton mean by this?
In retrospect it’s very forward for a major Hollywood studio, which would eventually be folded into a monopoly, to have the theme of a film be “workers are undervalued and if we work together we can’t overthrow our bosses, and the blesses know that.”
*can
Sorry for the typo I’ve been gooning all night
To this day, this still holds up from my childhood favourite Pixar film to one of my all-time favourites out of any Disney film, period. That and next with Treasure Planet.
Growing up, I tend to appreciate Disney films that have a mature tone and setting.
