I thought this issue was fine, but it's hard to take it when a lot of what made the previous run so great isn't here. But maybe it's for the best, to just go in a darker direction instead of trying to match the same feel. I'll keep reading it. I miss Jeremy Adams' Flash though.
It was shit. Especially the art.
>what made the previous run so great
>the previous run
>so great
It wasn't as bad, you mean.
The last run is exactly what I want from a comic and is pretty close to perfect in my eyes. This one's fine but I'm going to have to warm up to it.
What, zero stakes, constant quipping, inconsistent art, and generally milquetoast "shenanigans" is your idea of a good time?
Yes
>capeshit
>stakes
Pick one.
I can appreciate Spurrier at least keeping elements that Adams left behind (Mister Terrific's son, Wally's kids and Maxine hanging out, etc)
I like that too, and I can understand the way that Linda feels having had speed force powers and then losing them. That probably would alter your mindset quite a bit. It's just so grim when I'm used to a much more lighthearted Flash book. Still I'll keep reading and I'll give it a fair chance. And you're right, even though the tone is different, it does feel like a real continuation of the previous run and I do like that.
This books is already scratching my Animal Man itch so I'm going to stick with it for a while.
So go read Animal Man again.
Quintessential consoomer.
It's all better off in another comic, one that isn't part of an ongoing rotation of writers.
When, before he worked on The Flash?
You're right.
Adams' run had no pretense about stakes. I'll give it that.
That still doesn't help its case. It just means it never had a chance of being good.
His Flash run was good I don't really care if you don't like it, I did.
No one asked for you're opinion on our opinions homosexual
Your*. Learn to spell, you moron.
I'm overall interested in the mysteries this issue laid out but I also was a bit bored with the constant set up pages with no pay off. I wish the main story in this issue at least should have been a simple story that stood on its own. I was really worried about Linda going in but I think what Spurrier wants to do, have her go through a bit of PPD as a result of losing her powers, seems like an interesting challenge for her and Wally's relationship. I was worried it would just be "Wally doesn't notice me" but I think it makes sense that she's upset about the constant reminder that she's can no longer live in the same world as the rest of her family. She was given a taste of something and has no lost it and I'm glad they're actually dealing with it.
I feel the same way. I was worried about that aspect as well, but after reading the issue, it makes sense. That really would be hard to deal with and they really couldn't just ignore that.
I am still a bit worried about a divorce but I'm hopeful they'll come out of this stronger.
Wally makes a deal with the speed force devil
>the constant set up pages with no pay off.
Holy adhd zoomer, Brapman! This geekoid is already impatient after only one issue!
Adams was trash, Spurrier is trash, art is unreadable
Adams was great.
I disagree
The previous run wasn't great, it was pure ass crap.
